We drove the Tesla model X as a family of 5 & it was sooo cramped! So just bought a Kia as our second car! Here is why we went with this vs the Toyota Sienna ❤
Been watching a lot of Kia Carnival Hybrid SX Prestige videos recently and yours came up. Very helpful in a family point of view and actually seeing car seats installed. Still enjoying it? Heard you say you’re from SoCal. What area? Looks familiar. We’re in San Diego.
I just got the SX. Not having a spare tire strange and I don't care for the tire mobility kit. There is no jack. Sometimes it's hard to unlock and the liftgate drains the battery and the manual says to never leave it open due to the battery drain. One has to wonder why it has a 115v outlet in the back when you can't have the liftgate open very long. Otherwise, it's nice. I'm going to get a spare tire with wheel and also a jack for long trips!
We're pretty used to not having a spare tire since the Model X doesn't have a spare as well. We haven't had any battery drain issues on our Carnival :) Definitely did not know about how the liftgate can drain the battery though. Thank you for that info!
@@jamiesyang read the owner's manual about the liftgate. I found this because my liftgate would not open (resolved for now). the spare tire issue is really about trips and also as the tires get older. A flat tire may mean having to be towed given no spare. the tire mobility kit only works for small holes.
I feel like it accelerates pretty well and it has no issue maintaining speeds on the highway. We're always out and about with the whole family and i feel like it performs just like any other SUV/Van
We still have the model X that hubby drives as his daily! When we go out as a whole family, we take the Carnival! It felt easier going from a model X to a Carnival just because of how much more additional room there is. The range is wayyy better than EVs too. We've only filled up the Carnival once so far (a full tank is lasting 2 weeks for us) but we had to charge the Model X a few times a week.
The white looks nice. I’ve read that the hybrid engine is underpowered and may not be reliable if you’re holding beyond 5+ years. The V6 is a bit more proven as an engine
We were going back and forth debating if we wanted the white or the ceramic silver! Glad we chose the white! True, hybrid engines will probably always be underpowered vs a true ice car. We feel like this vehicle has enough power though and hopefully it will still be reliable after so many years.
I feel like the trunk/cargo space is pretty standard compared to other SUVs and vans. enough space to lug around a double stroller and single stroller + other items
We didn't look at the newest Honda Odyssey mainly because they don't have a hybrid version yet. We rented one a few years ago for a family trip in Hawaii and it is comparable to the Sienna. I'd say the Carnival is much better than the other ones :)
We have a 24 Odyssey…it has the media center which is dated but kind of like that you can just use blue ray DVD player and not worry about anything. It performs nice. The V6 drives so much better I believe but will sacrifice the MPG’s.. the other thing I love on the Honda is we can remove middle seat and has the easy slide. I think the seating and easy slide is much better but the tech is lacking and design.. Plus we were able to get Elite for 48k vs 51,775 for MSRP.. love the Kia Design and Tech though..
Thanks for uploading the video. I am considering buying Kia Carnival Hybrid SX Prestige too around the end of November. Would you mind sharing how much discount you had from MSRP? I heard there is not much room to negotiate the price nowadays.
they call it a MPV- Multipurpose vehicle. Pretty much it has ALL the nice upgraded technology features of an SUV with sliding doors and the space of a van!!! The cool thing of the 2nd row is it’s called VIP seats, so it warms and cool downs, can recline too! Currently we don’t use those features because we have 2 car seats in the 2nd row but thought that was a cool captain seat feature haha

Oh that's really nice. Y'all are going to be so happy & comfortable. Thanks for the review!
It’s SO much room! So incredibly thankful, this is the space we needed with 3 kids ❤❤
My MIL has the Carnival and LOVES it! She fosters so she has a ton of car seats but needs the cargo space as well.

Thanks for sharing review and the price you got it for👍👍. You should do 3 month updates on what you like and dis and so how it does.
Will keep this in mind!
8:20 Trim levels,. different shifters (options?). Gotta be careful when buying or ordering.

@@rickywhisenhunt4582 Yes hopefully we never run into that issue! fingers crossed!
Our car review !
How is that Bose sound system?
I got the same model but black. Love it!
Did that have the backup rearview camera for rearview mirror?
Yes it does! we totally forgot to mention that! We also forgot to mention it has the blind spot cameras!
Where you able to get the car under MSRP
How does the powertrain perform on highways with kids/luggage on board? Does the hybrid accelerate well and maintain speed on highways?
Same questions ? Wanted to know if the power is enough or comparable to sienna if you test drove that as well ?

@@siddharthsah1989 It feels very comparable since the Sienna is also a hybrid as well. Definitely has enough power :)
Real mpg with family inside?
Was it hard going from model x to the carnival?

What was the out the door price you guys got this for?? Looks really nice!
We got the vehicle for MSRP :) The OTD price will all depend on your state/county tax rate!
@@jamiesyang do you mind sharing what dealership you went to? I’ve been looking around and every dealership wants to add 3-5k in dealer add ons

Any opinion on the trunk/cargo space?

Pretty nice…I’m curious did you look at the Honda odyssey 🤔…Family of 5 here as well and I’m looking at all the options…Thanks for the review!

We got ours at MSRP! All the "mark ups" listed on the sticker were included :)
Does "mark up" mean they add some premium?
Pretty much added in additional costs just because they wanted too
🎉🎉🎉 NICE!
:)
Do you love it? I am thinking bout this van.
We absolutely love it!
I just got mine on Saturday. I got a $1k markup. What dealership did you go to?
Congrats on your Carnival! We went to Citrus Kia in Ontario, California :)
@jamiesyang Thank you! I'd never thought I would own a minivan, but so far I love it.
@@H.E.A.R.T.143we thought the same! It’s the space we REALLY needed with 3 kids & we LOVE it! ❤
Is that a mini van or a full size SUV?? Looks great 🙌🏻

how much are your payments?
5k of pure dealer markup is wild
Yup! Insane! Glad we were able to get all the mark up off :)
