Or are they? Schrodingers opinion. I just want my damn cat

attach a camera to your cat and gain an elevated understanding of your neighbors schedule. then calculatedly rob their house and if they ask any questions just say you thought that’s the kind of relationship you guys had

I could relate with these “neighbors stole our cat” stuff. My neighbors, maybe 8 months ago took our cat. We didn’t figure it out till maybe a month later. We didn’t know who until unexpectedly I saw my cat in our literal neighbors window. My father was hiding the fact that our dang cat was in the window. Anywho, maybe a month ago I went up and confronted them about it. They had said they had thought he was a stray, so they took him in. My cat has been f*cking living in our street for 5 years. The whole street knows that, and the neighbors aren’t new. So anywho, then they said that he had gotten sick and they payed for his surgery’s, so we would have to pay to get our cat back. We have literal Insurance on the cat. So after I went back to my house, almost every single night I will overthink it. My thoughts go: “why can’t we just get our cats a proper home?” “Why do they have to stay out on the dirty porch every night with some little beds.” “Why do they have to end up getting so dirty because they don’t have a roof over them.” “Why can we think about ourselves and give us proper clean rooms while our cats have to sit on the dirty cold porch.” “What if our cat wants to stay there.” “People have to think we can’t take care of anything.” “Why can we give the dog a roof with walls but not the cats?” “Why does my dad have to be annoyed with the cats and not like having them.” “Why do they make jokes saying: oOh! Let’s sell them!” “Why can I hardly have time for them?” “Do they not want to be with us?” I’ve tried keeping our other cat that’s not missing in the house warmer, but it doesn’t work, since the dog and cats have no bond together, there’s no space for all of them, we don’t have a litter box (anymore). So it makes it more difficult. It’s like no one cares for them, I feed them of course, but there water bowl always gets dirty, and there food bowl always flips over. Even the other day raccoons came to eat there food. I made a deal with my mom saying that tomorrow we will clean it out and make it nice.! But what if the neighbors come and change the porch.. they painted it, and there are so many of them up there. It’s not like a huge apartment, maybe 2 family’s live up there with about 4-6 people in each. They could do something to it, so im scared.
I’ve been crying the whole time typing this.

This is happening to my mother now and I could care less about the cats really as they are outdoors and I do not want them inside, but it is affecting my mother's well being and happiness and I cannot stop her from worrying or simply letting it go. She is worried that the cats are as you described in your clip. What upsets me most is that my mother gave up smoking years ago but now started again just to sit outside in hopes that the cat will be let out so she can see them! In fact I went online to look for the most reasonable or sensible approach but this has repeatedly happened three times now! The first cat was one they just simply took and we never saw it again! When asked about it , they simply say "he is fine" or "he's around". But then they took two more cats into their house with about 7 or 8 other cats When the cats do come out and my mother is feeding them, these neighbors say "well, they already ate a lot!". It just seems like no matter how many cats we get to try to replace the ones they took, that it is a pattern that will continue to reoccur and they will take them all. As I said, I do not care for the cats so much as I am worried that it is making my mother sad and nothing I can do or say will comfort her . I am afraid that if I go and tell these neighbors , that I will end up in jail!

Same issue. 14 year old cat. Had her all her life and she's indoor and outdoor cat. My neighbors love her. One didd so much she took her and won't give her back. Left a note on her door because she won't answer hers. She left one back saying my cats fine but she's not giving her back. I filed a police report and the officer took a picture of my cat in her window because she wouldn't answer the door for him either. Now I'm waiting to see what's going to happen next.

If I'm being honest the best way to get your cat back is when they come home microchip her and put a collar on her if she already didn't have one then put a tiny camera on her with the speaker so that when you call the police (because it is illegal to steal anything including animals) you have evidence via 4 things so they can't make excuses like "Oh I thought it was a stray" because it would have a microchip and a collar and you also have proof of what they say and who has been taking your cat.

Going through this right now, somebody stole 2 of my tabbies, called from a blocked number to tell me that "someone" had picked them up and rehomed them because they hadn't been looked after and wished me "luck" on getting them back. it sounded passive aggressive as fuck, i'm still seething over it. i had those boys for 5 years and they have pissed and clawed everything in my life - hence why they were outdoor part time - everyone in the neigborhood loved them. just unreal.

I did this.My neighbors started leaving their cats outside in the cold and rain, at night.I noticed the cats did not like it and wanted to be inside.I also noticed they would be half-ass about feeding them.Their collar worn and barely able to stay on and I felt bad.So I offered them to stay overnight for those rainy days.I don’t care if my neighbor has an issue with me feeding them.Bc I have an issue with their obvious neglect when it came to these cats.If your cat is going to be outdoors try getting them a catio.Bc then they could get run over or catch diseases.

I'm so stressed right now. I just saw my cat's collar was removed. I got Luci short for Lucifer 2 years ago as a kitten. I love him like crazy cos he is my baby🤗. About a year ago I got a stray kitten and Luci and Hunter( my new furball) became the best of friends. Couple of months ago I noticed Luci getting fed up with Hunter's playfulness and Luci started to take longer walks but always came home daily to eat and drink. Luci who is a Norwegian Forest Hunter in breed lately just pops in daily to check on me and his home but is starting to eat less food and not losing weight. That to me meant that someone is feeding him. So I changed his collar and put a new one on with his name and my details. This morning I saw it was removed. The collar prior to this one had not details on and he wore it for more than a year. I need to save my cat from my back neighbor because I'm not prepared to lose him. Don't people know that these furballs are like their owners children. Let me just add that Luci is Extremely handsome. I need help to save my cat. 😢😢😢
