My husband and I had a similar situation at one of our vacation homes. The morning after we arrived, we heard yelling, laughing, etc in our back yard. For reference, the house is on 6 acres so we can’t see or hear our neighbors, so we knew it was coming from our yard. In addition, when we come to town, we usually stay for about two months, so our house sitter leaves about two weeks before we arrive to ensure the house is clean and all her belongings are gone. Anyway, we went out back and found a family of 5 swimming in the pool. They had brought food, drinks, pool toys, and the father was using the grill to make their lunch. We asked them what the hell they were doing here, and they said the owners allow them to use the pool whenever they want. We explained we were the owners and after some back and fourth, they admitted they had been coming over for the last two weeks without permission. Turns out they were friends with our house sitter and had been to the house on several occasions for dinner, so they knew the situation with the house sitter and the small window when the house would be vacant. They had also broken the lock to the pool house/guest house and were keeping food, some changes of clothes, and toiletries, in there. Needless to say, we were beyond pissed. We told them to immediately get out, and the father said we needed to “chill out, and they would be gone after lunch.” They refused to leave! I couldn’t believe it! We called the police and when they arrived the parents tried again to say they had permission from the owner, and were allowed to be there. The police obviously told them to leave, and asked us if we wanted them trespassed, which of course we did. Then the father tried to say they lived in the guest house. That is when the youngest kid said “we don’t live there, we live at X.” When the father tried to double down saying he had keys, the awesome kid chimed in with “we don’t have keys, you had to use the big scissors to break the door lock.” The big scissors were gardening shears from the shed. This earned dad a pair of shiny new silver bracelets. So dad was arrested and they were trespassed. Thanks, kid! The best part was about a month later we got a call from the mother (no idea how she got my number) and she had the audacity to ask if her kid could have his birthday party at our house. She promised her husband wouldn’t be there. I had to laugh at that one. Of course I said no. I still can’t believe she had the nerve to ask us that. Unbelievable.
Just curious, with the house sitter, did you call them out on letting the people on the property without your permission to begin with? Get security cameras and replace the locks just in case?

On the first story: Many years ago, I lived next to someone who had a nice pool. Some entitled Karen tried this same thing, except we were in Texas. Long story short, he asked her to leave, she refused, and two minutes later found herself staring down the barrel of a .44 Magnum. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes...
I heard on the radio In the UK some entitled guy tried sneaking into someone’s backyard swimming pool but was met with a very angry German shepherd. Long story short the entitled guy had to go to hospital for a few months. hail britannia britannia rules the waves.
Story #2: this same thing happened to me when I got engaged. None of my family or friends said a kind word to me. They said, "good luck with that." When my husband told his friends and family they also said, "good luck with that." We thought it was crazy that both friend groups said the exact same thing. We have been married for 18 years. Enjoy your engagement and don't let anybody get you down
Sod the lot of em any couple who gets this reaction elope go on your honeymoon and listen to them bitch about not getting a invitation and a free meal when you get back
So true. Everyone is different. My husband and I got engaged after 6 months of dating then married a year after that. We have a really good marriage now for 7 years. Sometimes time is a factor, sometimes it’s not. It’s the relationship that matters
Just because it works for you doesn't mean it works for everyone else you never know maybe your husband's cheating behind your back horrible thing for me to say but you have to question everything to protect yourself
Regarding the case of the engaged couple that everyone was talking down: Sometime people just are like that... We went through the same sh*t when we announced our wedding plans. At that time we were a couple for more than 12 years! Everyone just seemed to mock us about it: colleagues at work, my mom, so called friends... In the end we had our marriage in a very small circle, without our families, just the two of us, best woman/man and their partners. Later that year we had a big wedding, with church and all, where we invited our families and other friends etc. - each invitation had a kind of 'read me first'-manual attached. This basically told everyone invited, that this was OUR wedding, if they want to be happy for us and join the festivities we gladly invite them. However, if they take this as an opportunity to bring their entitled mindsets, unwanted opinions, family struggles and quarrels, and overblown egos to this event, they can stay the hell away! It worked: everyone complaining about this note and starting to debate was removed from the guestlist and we had a great 'official' marriage! Love & Peace
You did the right move I just can't understand people mocking you or trying to stop you in your project. I had a trully bad experience with engagement, yet I don't use it to belittle other's relationship
In my city, you legally have to have a fence with locks around your property to keep people out of your pool. No fence= No pool. I used to think it was a ridiculous law, but now I'm a bit happier about it. Edit: I totally forgot to mention I do have a pool. That's why I said I used to dislike the law. I have to keep up with fence maintenance every year, but seems worth it.
KAREN: Do you want my kid to have hypothermia? ME: If your child gets in my pool again, I'll make sure his chances are high. *reaches for the temperature gauge*
I told my wife that we'd be married a few weeks after we got together. My family gave me crap after telling them that I proposed after a year and and even "tried" to make us go through compatibility/marriage testing before we got married. We've been married 18 years and I'm on my one and only marriage after most of my family has been married 2 or more times. Hell, my uncle who has been married twice (after even being attracted to my own mother) told us we would divorce each other. To HELL with what people say about your relationship because you two are the only ones who decide what you want in life. Congratulations on the engagement and I hope you both have a wonderful life together because it can and will happen as long as you both strive for it together.
My parents knew each other for two weeks before they got married. It wasn't a shotgun wedding or anything, they just fell for each other hard. They were married for 65 years before my dad passed. Sometimes it doesn't take a long time to find the right one.
Last story : Had to live through the same things without the sibling favoritism part, and like the narrator said OP clearly need to think of what he wants to do in the future, far from his family. He needs to put up with it for now until he can move to the next phase of the plan. It's hard before and after but it always pays off. And do not forget to do obscene signs when you're leaving
@@wolfsongrising Well as much as I would have loved to break the legs of my so called father and spread my poop on the walls, I'm not going to jail for someone as pathetic as him, and now the house belong to someone else, they're not involved, and don't deserve it. Story 2: don’t pay any attention to people telling you you’re living your life wrong and getting married too early. You are allowed to make your choices and live your own life the way that makes you happy. Something I’ve been learning over the years.. is so many folks will never hesitate to minimize your life by comparing your experiences to theirs. Because people have limited experiences but large egos THEY know what’s best for YOU because clearly they’ve made it and you have to follow the exact same life plan as them to succeed. It’s not worth even listening to. If they’re mad you’re happy, it’s their problem. Don’t let them make it your problem too.
"Well if I was raised Wrong, then apparently you weren't raised at all" Someone get the ointment, cause that Karen just got burnt. And that surprised expression she had just showed how right OP was.
4:30 OP is lucky. Everywhere I've lived in my life, a homeowner is responsible for erecting a 6 foot fence around a backyard with a pool, to avoid such an occurrence. Had the kid (or parent) been injured (or, God forbid, drowned), OP could have been held responsible, as his pool is considered an _"attractive nuisance."_ OP needs a fence with a locked gate, ASAP.
In the state of Georgia the law states that you must having fencing around any pool/lake and a secured entry/exit. This is to protect small children from entering. And Karens.
It's not refusing to share if it was never offered or asked for and granted permission. What she did was flat out taking. Also, when it comes to pools there can be huge liability issues, so having someone you don't know just barge in and use it, can end up costing you.
I'm the middle sibling and was the one always left out or forgotten. As, a teen I worked after school and it made me work harder and was very fortunate to have bosses as my mentors learning not just experience but ethics and determination. It wasn't easy. However, at the end of every day I can always remind myself that all the hard work and determination was earned and not given. Life is much more rewarding when you've earned it.
Story #2: I met my husband my freshman year in college and married my sophomore year. We had a professor that told us that she gives our marriage 2 years. Well, needless to say, we have been married for over 23 years and counting.
Story 3: My parents married in 2000. My mom, was in American for her job, while my dad was still in India. In 2003, my dad came to the United States. They managed a long distance relationship for 3 years, just as much as the OP. And, they both have very busy jobs. But still, their relationship lasted over 20 years. So OP, explain how and why you broke up?
It's cool that your parents relationship worked out and all but you gotta realize that everyones needs are different when it comes to relationships. She felt lonely in that relationship which means that her needs were not fulfilled. Let's assume they tried to make it work, but she still kept feeling lonely, then she has every reason to want to break up. The moment that she started to think about breaking up could mean she probably just didn't love him as much as she thought she did. It's okay if it didn't work out, it's okay to leave if you think the relationship is tiring, she did pretty good by straight up telling her ex she wanted to break up imo because nowadays people tend to look for the parts that are missing in someone else. Her reaction to the ex's reaction was not the best, but she had every reason to break up. I mean, if you truly love someone you would make it work no matter what without even thinking of breaking up.

Story #4: I'd just straight up leave the country! Or at least try to leave the country, and move to Canada, or America, or something! Especially since just like a small town, I'm guessing a small country doesn't have that many job opportunities. And it really sounds like their family's just purposefully holding them back!
He will spend eternity trying to get his parents to treat him the same as his brother! He needs to STOP! Don't seek it, don't acknowledge it...distance himself or he will remain miserable. When the Karen tried using the "my kid could get hypothermia if you make him get out of the pool", by her own logic, he shouldn't have been in ANY pool, let alone OP's pool (even though, according to OP, the weather was warm lol).

Story 2: HAPPENED TO ME TOO!!!! I GOT engaged to my partner in our early 20s. Everyone said we where to young and I was to immature to get married. Granted before I met my partner I was a bit of a hoe. But everyone from work, family, and some friends said don't do it we won't last. To a point that there was a pool on how long the marriage will last with the longest being 8 months. Well over 10 years later we are still together and happy and planning another trip out of the country (think we are at 20 something trips now). Depending who said it I had different response. Family: "You can't get married your oldest siblings isn't even engaged yet." Response: "Not my fault they can't decide on who to stop cheating on." Friends: "Well me and my SO have been dating longer and we haven't even discussed marriage yet." Response: "Well when your dating someone 20 years younger than you maybe they just want to have fun and not be tied down to an old person later in life. (They got married he knocked up someone else and got divorced 3 years in)" Co-worker: "You're to young it'll last 6 months." Response: "Man, I should listen to someone on there 4th marriage." I have more than this.
That was savage, but honestly in your shoes, even if I'm 34, single yet happy ..... i would honestly do the same because I'm not of keep my mouth shut when I'm pissed off.
It's like that saying, "people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones." Those people criticizing your relationship should have focused on their own relationships instead of yours.
i had an instructor, when i was in school...that had been married for ages by that point. the first time he got with his wife...they sat down and didnt say a damned thing to each other for like an hour or so...then he said she was the one he wanted to spend his life with...and they got married a few weeks later...just off the first visit...so yeah...most people dont know what the shit they are talking about with the length people "should be" together before getting married
Sometimes when your family is toxic you have to make the difficult decision to cut ties either enough to give yourself room to grow or completely and choose your own family. Family should help each other and lift each other up and if that's not happening even though you talked to them then maybe you should move away and build up your life to make yourself happy. Maybe later on you can reconcile and rebuild your relationship. Goodluck to you and your future!!!!
Story 2 is confusing. There's no reference of time or age. The narrator speaks like he knows something but we the audience have no information other than "people are telling me I'm getting married too soon/young".... In korea getting married at 30 can be seen as too young. In America some would make fun of you if you are 30 and single. We are missing context.
I don`t know the situation in America, but over here in the UK, it is called trespass and under the rule of Tort, you are entitled to ring the Police or use non-violent force to eject the trespasser.
Story 2: Considering the failure rate of marriages these days a lot of people don't expect much of them any more. God knows I don't. I've seen nearly as many divorces as I have marriages. Frankly "best of luck" is about the most positive thing I can think to say. Especially if I know the people involved are under 25 or only been together a year or two. You're flying on passion at that point as far as I'm concerned and that feeling fades.
If you don’t have a fence around the pool, get one installed and have a lock on the gate that only you can unlock. First of all, in most places it is the law to have a fence around the pool, secondly, it will help to prevent incidents like the above from happening. Without the fence your insurance is under no obligation to pay for any damages and you might even find yourself in criminal court for negligence causing injury or death.
Cameras won’t help with the fact that the homeowner has an attractive nuisance that is apparently readily accessible by children. I would say that if the homeowner doesn’t take other steps to prevent this from happening again, the next interaction may not go as well.
For the second story, I wonder how old the OP is. They don’t mention it, and it is still no excuse to be an ass, but if they’re 18-20 that might explain why everyone reacts that way.
Like seriously. If they don’t tell us the age of themselves, their partner or the length of the relationship how are we to support the OP if that’s what they’re looking for?
Story 3: I can 100% get where she's coming from, wanting closure so it doesn't end on a bad note and stuff and I think the "playing moves" thing is kinda stupid-
One of my aunts got married right after she graduated college and has been married for over 20 years and are still having a successful marraige. It doesn't really matter how long you've been together or how young. As long as you feel ready for that big step and are willing to put I. The effort that's fine
Story 2: Honestly you should at this point smell the jealousy and bitterness from the people who mock and laugh at it, because they literally had failed marriage, unsatisfactory life from their stupid demands or basically had failed relationships due their behaviour and entitlement too. They mock you out of their own insecurities... and that goes for family , relatives and other people in general too. You just had to look at their life for a second to see why they are trying to sabotage you as well.
Not me watching this in MY POOL too. However my backyard where the pool is located has a fence and bushes hiding it so you can’t come without me seeing you.
Last story, I wonder how old the parents were when the older brother was born. I've seen situations where the parents became parents before they really wanted to be. So, first child, "ruined their fun" being free to do whatever as a couple, and they resent the child for that. By the time the second child shows up, they're ready to have a kid and end up favoring second child over first because of their unresolved resentment towards the first child.
From my basement I once heard the washing machine and wondered, as I didn't do any laundry. So I went downstairs and met a strange woman with a washing basket. I asked her what she was doing here. Answer: Oh, other students in the neighborhood told her that you could do laundry here. What?! So she wasn't the first? Strange people there are - going into other people's basements without inhibitions.
Story #2. Well, If you’re 18 years old and getting married, then yea, it’s too young. If y’all really do love each other then wait until after you finish college, have a good job with steady income and your both working towards buying your first house. People change a LOT emotionally and psychologically between the ages of 25-28 years of age. Don’t ever get married bc you’re in love with being in love. If y’all really love each other, then you’ll love each other after college too.
You still should have called the police. Matters like this should be part of official police record. This way she wont be able to try anything in the future and worse make you look like the one who broke the law.
Was told this story by someone who was there when it happened. Small business, like three people total. Young girl has just gotten engaged. Is constantly talking about it. Always going on about venues, themes, brides maids, music, food, etc. Day after day all the details. Business owner is an older curmudgeon kind of guy. Finally has had enough. Turns to her and says. "Calm down about this. It's only your first marriage." She immediately breaks down, leaves for the rest of the day. Don't think he ever apologized.
For the pool, just don’t start the argument, just call the cops. They get charges for trespassing, and, using a private asset (the house, as the house doesn’t belong to the government according to the OP, he fully owns it, making it different to trespassing). Also, there may be charges for the fact that she cursed and that Karen said the OP wasn’t raised right and that she will raise her son better. Also, if Karen somehow scratched or broke of intervened with the sun-hair, that means that is destroying private property, which is illegal AND Karen must pay for it, or Karen’s insurance must. Same with pool damage.
Story one: i would have screamed something like “the pool was just shocked and he could get really sick… quick get him out! You definitely need a fence around your pool for just these situations! Keep it locked!
S2 I bet a lot of people told Dolly Parton the same negative things before/ when she got married in 1966! OP should have told the older woman down at the nail salon. "Why are you butting into a private discussion between two friends? You are proof that though some people have lived longer that doesn't mean they are necessarily wiser" There's a nice story about a fast food worker who still wears a plain steel engagement ring she and her husband bought more than a decade ago. She could have bought something fancier but she liked the plain shiny steel band. Her husband seeing her choice got one that fit him. So when an entitled "rich witch" mocked her choice, she looked at her with pity and ignored the loser.

@@AnimeGamer501st you're an awful person
@@AnimeGamer501st that was randomly out of left field and doesn't exactly seem applicable here?
I hope your wedding was amazing 😊

I told my wife that we'd be married a few weeks after we got together. The Karen in the first story: 🙄
Damn. What a stupid law. Maybe we should hold people accountable instead.
In the state of Georgia the law states that you must having fencing around any pool/lake and a secured entry/exit. This is to protect small children from entering. And Karens.
I don't even think that'll keep out wild dangerous Karen's
@@MajinMuu What about a moat with piranhas? That'll stop Karens.

I can’t believe there are people like that. I’d like to see a video. Also, i would have never even talked to her. I’d have just called the police.

He will spend eternity trying to get his parents to treat him the same as his brother! He needs to STOP! Don't seek it, don't acknowledge it...distance himself or he will remain miserable. 2:47 if he could get hypothermia WHY PUT HIM IN A POOL
When the Karen tried using the "my kid could get hypothermia if you make him get out of the pool", by her own logic, he shouldn't have been in ANY pool, let alone OP's pool (even though, according to OP, the weather was warm lol).

I would say that if the homeowner doesn’t take other steps to prevent this from happening again, the next interaction may not go as well.
i would just lock up the pool so the lady doesn't let her kid swim in it
For the second story, I wonder how old the OP is.

Well, If you’re 18 years old and getting married, then yea, it’s too young.
If y’all really do love each other then wait until after you finish college, have a good job with steady income and your both working towards buying your first house.
People change a LOT emotionally and psychologically between the ages of 25-28 years of age.

1. You only have to ask an uninvited guest to leave once, then you call the cops. There are trespassing laws.
bro why is ur voice so relaxing
For the first story, I personally would have gone back inside and called the police immediately.
Normal people: hey is this a public pool? “no” Ok I’ll leave bye
For all these people who have property intrusions by Karen’s like this, get a gun. Just get a gun, and call the cops.
Don't think he ever apologized.
oooh can't wait for it to go on spotify
There's no such thing as closure, you either let it go, move on and heal or keep clinging to the past 🤷
Okay. I can't resist. Quoting Fuzzy Lumpkins from original Powerpuff Girls: "Get back here and get offa my property!"
For the second story: is it that hard to say “i am happy for you and wish you the best”
Story one: i would have screamed something like “the pool was just shocked and he could get really sick… quick get him out!
You definitely need a fence around your pool for just these situations! Keep it locked!

Where is the one homie who does the hella funny Karen voice? Bring him back!
S2 I bet a lot of people told Dolly Parton the same negative things before/ when she got married in 1966!
OP should have told the older woman down at the nail salon. "Why are you butting into a private discussion between two friends? You are proof that though some people have lived longer that doesn't mean they are necessarily wiser"
There's a nice story about a fast food worker who still wears a plain steel engagement ring she and her husband bought more than a decade ago. She could have bought something fancier but she liked the plain shiny steel band. Her husband seeing her choice got one that fit him. So when an entitled "rich witch" mocked her choice, she looked at her with pity and ignored the loser.
