The fact that i felt bad for him in the middle really shows how good the actor is and how human minds can sympathize with just about anything if the person looks the right amount of miserable.
i would feel bad but remember this was only happening to him because he raped and murdered a little girl then i stopped feeling bad
It’s interesting you ended up feeling that way. When he was like “please stop please don’t do this” was probably the last words his victim said to him, any and all sympathy that had an iota of significance died. People who protest morality in favor of those who commit heinous crimes are just as questionable. The actor did amazing though kudos
I feel the same. I have empathy for anyone when they're in pain no matter who they are unless they're in that moment in front of me harming another. To the other person who flagged that empathy as questionable, I would argue that they are more questionable with their morality
i mean yeah. state sanctioned intrusion of bodily autonomy is always reprehensible. wether it be abortion bans or whatever this is.
@@sincerelyserene5666 I'm surprised this needs to be said, but the state murdering (or in this case mutilating) someone is morally completely different than a person doing it to another person. Like how a lone mass shooter is one thing, but if the President told the police to open fire on a crowd of people it would be way, way, WAY worse.
Great story and food for thought. It's interesting how the victim's father looked more and more unkempt as the punishment went on.
I'd have been drinking a toast every moment of it.

@@sugarcane4648doing worse than what he did? and in real life he somebody coulve been framed of this then this happens to them. then what?
The thing that stuck with me most was how they paraded him around schools.
What happened when there was a kid or teacher who was missing limbs? Would society assume they were criminals? How long before amputees get upset? Cause one person's exsistance as another person's punishment is pretty bleak.
This is why we can’t use words such as ‘suicide’, because someone is offended. Really, if you don’t want to be offended… just watch Disney.
@daynasafranek7807 you are the only substantially offended one here which is interesting
If you really think about it I doubt they would assume they were amputees because just like in this short film. It wasn’t even the victim who kept asking for him to keep having the surgeries. I’d think majority of the victims families would keep going until there was almost little to nothing left to sustain them or dead.
No one gets released with this punishment. It’s explained as “punishment to the most severe crimes.” The thought of “they are missing (what ever body part) so they are a criminal.” Out in public wouldn’t occur.
I never thought of this at all!
Seeing people saying that they think this sort of punishment is a good idea makes me wonder what they would think of it happening to someone who later turned out to have been wrongly convicted.
If that someone is not related to me or care for, it would be fine obviously 😅
@@hanselbarlowe2575 Don't you see a purely logical flaw in such approach?
If you're OK with concept of mutilating innocents basing on personal preferences, the consequence is you are OK with the same directed towards yourself and ones you care of, and that is a logical contradiction.
@@GVerny how am i ok how can you twist my comment in a 360 XD? if its related to me, guilty or not such punishment is not ok. To others i couldn't care less. It's simple to understand you redid my comment entirely what an idiot
@@GVerny how am i ok god its a simple, most human trait i am displaying how did you redid my comment to a complete 360? XD
Guilty or not i don't want this happening to anyone dear to me, to others i couldn't care less.
@@hanselbarlowe2575 With all respect - all I did was pointing out the logical flaw in your egocentric approach.
As soon as you approve the idea of mutilating the innocent as a concept, that idea immediately backfires and covers all innocents, including people around you.
Just because your objection (except ones dear to me) is neglectable compared to ten billion egoists who say "except ones dear to me" and thus will be ignored.
At the beginning when he was crying, you could see the pain he felt, I honestly dont know how to feel about this concept, props to the actor you could really feel his pain

Of course I'd watch this right before I go to bed.

It's a punishment that inflicts pain on the father as well. He clearly wishes he was punished similarly and could not forgive himself for being unable to protect his daughter. He feels he needs to be there until he has suffered enough.
Wow. That was DARK
The 4th Surgery, The Father said Please Commence instead of Please Proceed, almost to give the Doctors a subliminal order to continue working without thinking.
Thats what i took away at least
I don't really think justice was served here - everyone lost a part of themselves in the end.
The fact you have to point this out is depressing indeed.
I think it was personally but hey 🤷🏾♀️
At least he wouldn't be able to reoffend 🤷♂
Even the father looked much worse till the end of it, as though this way of revenge only prevented him from moving on with his life & didn't get him any closure

There's a reason "cruel and unusual" isn't allowed. Because humanity rarely knows where to draw a line. It would take less than 20 people for this to end up claiming someone wrongly convicted, or for this to drive doctors and families to insanity.
Already I’m disturbed in just the few minutes I started watching this. Just at the part where the family’s watching the surgery. And, I’m eating too!
Brilliant, very thought provoking. The victims family poisoned themselves with their punishment of him, even though it was deserved. Great story & acting. This will stay with me 😮😮

Woah... This one is heavy.. I felt uncomfortable the entire time. Very well done. Damn...
The story line is excellent! Subtle, and intense.
Absolutely stunned by the fact that the VOA gives off the same gravitas as the ones I watch on actual true crime channels

i love alter, these are always so good
Wow, an amazing dark creepy story, with a creepy narrator telling the story of Willie. Some of those scenes wigged me out. I would like to see a part 2 of this. The cast was great in their roles to this. Never do crime unless you want to be severely punished by losing body parts.
How would the audience feel if it was shown what Willie did to the murdered girl?
The expression "Two wrongs don't make a right." springs to mind.
Still doesn't make it right, in fact the father became more monstrous than Willie especially as he kept going even after his kids knew what was happening was wrong.
@@shaunmccomish8572 of course. That's why I was talking about the feelings of the audience, not about legal philosophical considerations.
Very strong and solid story, a potential new gem of this channel. Just pay attention to many important details of narrative, such as disruption of victim's family, synchronized with executions.
Yes, the father was looking rather weathered at the end. The girls couldn't hang...understandably.
Felicidades al equipo, realmente un corto horrorifico
This is a really interesting concept. Great short horror
Wow! That is truly horror!
Excellent short film! Really well done and creepy as hell!
The vibes of this short is 'Black Mirror makes a PSA' and I love it
If this was the punishment for rape and murder why is he the only one being punished this way?
From what it seemed he took his victims parts off 1 by 1 so he was getting the same thing done to him.
But I could be wrong
This is fiction, dude. It’s not suppose to seem real or make perfectly sense. Here the premise is : “What would happens if justice authorize vengeance ?” Or “What role should justice have?” Or “Can we dehumanize someone for their crimes, when it’s because they are human they did it ?”
Reminds me of one of my Rimworld playthroughs.
Ha I get it!
Short film that masterfully establishes the darkest side of the victims. Detailed and comparative piece of a much more normalized situation today, but equally atrocious in any reflection, the attendance of relatives at the executions of those condemned to death. About whom a significant number were later proven innocent and in whose scenarios the only light of humanity, understanding and civilization emanated from the Catholics who accompanied them in their last moments, as has been the example of Helen Prejean and so many others.
Amen. The Most frightening part is the quote "DNA doesn't lie", perhaps not, but as we are seeing, men ams women do every day, especially for the sake of misplaced vengeance.
Truly horrifying.
Her arms were cut off, her legs were cut off, her ears were cut off, her younger was cut off.

A lot of people in the comments seem to be missing the point of this one. Scary.
What is the point of it
What do you think the point is?
why don't you explain it then

This was intense. damn Alter!
I swear this short movie haunts me. I'vw watched it when it first came out and ever since then, it gets recommended to me once in a while. Now this.... ;_;
Him showing up to art class was so random, that could've been in the auditorium or something.
Wow! I'm glad that I watched this AFTER my surgery two weeks ago...😂

Really great story, so thought provoking as it was haunting and eerie. If it were your child, how far would you go? How far is too far? Really interesting and definitely loved it!❤
I would let my child and the law decide that. There already being punished by being in jail bc there going to be tortured and graped by other inmates
Guys please help me find this one horror short film I watched on this channel years ago but I don't remember the name... It was about a girl and was about to go to sleep but felt someone was there in the room. When that someone ambushed her got so scared that she jumped on them and trashed their face with a torch... The scene ends with the parents of the girl at the door holding a birthday cake and her brother laying under her with his face in a pool of blood.

Now I want to know too lol
I like how original this is from the viewpoint of it being a horror film...in that stance/outlook its more of a realistic real life type of horror....like 1984 and orwellian existential angst and dread (dark films about eg death penalty/capital punishment etc or wars/horrors of war ,etc)
increíble!
Horrifying 😮😮...terrible indeed !
Entertaining film,
Almost made me feel bad for criminal,
But as news report stated he raped & killed school girl.

Now THIS is good stuff.
Why did the hipster decline surgery?
The anesthetic wasn't local.

Very good
I sincerely I don't really know if it would be right, but deep down there's a lot of hate capable of that, even though I know it would be wrong...
He shouldn't have raped and killed that little girl 🤷🏾♀️
Ya but think of the familys. Imagine you know and the judge and jury knows that they have the killer in custody and is imprisoned for life BUT the killer won't tell anyone where the body is. Perfect fit for the family of the missing
@@anyquestions9931 at the end of the day that man still deserves to be punished. Doesn't matter if he tells them where the body is or not. The body is there but the soul is not. So it doesn't really matter if the body is found or not. It only matters that the killer is found.

On the bright side, the character can't re-offend, and the punishment acts as a deterrent to others.
@@angelavolkov1126there is no bright side to this
@@angelavolkov1126 Yeah I think as a victim's family I'd be demanding the "namesake" the most and stop there. That is the truest "eye for an eye" punishment these people can get. They'll completely lose any drive and reason to re-offend, at least. Maybe that's sick but I think doing those things to a little girl is so much sicker.
It doesn't, we falsely think our pain will heal in exchange for someone else's, but survivor guilt will continue. Grief will continue.
This was incredible and should be studied in schools. Reminds me of all the batshit correspondence I received when I worked in Justice policy.
Absolutely appropriate. Mine didnt even got to prison. I have to live with what happened to me for the rest of my life while that being is out there doing who knows what, possibly ruined someone elses life as well.
Differnece is there's a reason cruel and unusual punishment is illegal. Imagine if he was false accused. Snd thr victim didn't waht it to continue.
That was one of the most fucked things I’ve ever watched. Bravo
Reminds me of a nightmare in the book the stuff of nightmares

Not certain why all in that moment
But being in the position as a medical professional who wishes to do no harm

I've seen this before but can't remember if it was on this channel or somewhere else.really makes you think if they did do this to criminals.
Bizarre
I know this is so so so put of content but why is the guy with "suck it" on his hand so attractive for no reason?!😭 I don't understand, tell me I'm not the only one 😭😭
My arms and legs hurt
I would have started with finger tips 🤣
I think it was a bit disrespectful how they paraded him around schools because what about children with actual amputations and missing limbs??
It's a short film!
Mr. Willieless will be a good role model for all those kids
I still confused about the last of story, where was Mr. Bingham?
reminds me a bit of Rimworld..
Damn.
Poor 😢
I've watched this a couple of times now. Disturbing and dark concept.
This could be spun out a longer film. For example, we don't really see the effects of this on the family. It's hinted at... initially there are three members, then the daughters no longer come to watch, and the final scene is the father looking haggard as he signs off on the final amputation.
Was the father satisfied? Or did he eventually learn that nothing would ever quench the grief inside him? Did the need for revenge tear apart his family, i.e. everyone lost? How about the lawyer and the medical staff? How does it affect them to be a part of this process?
Good acting on the parts of the two leads...
I've watched it some where quiet a long back... I can't remember where or is it a re upload...
This reminds me a lot of the book series Unwind
He still got it easy.
I’ve watched this way too many times in 5 days, haha. But, this whole story gives me the shivers. When you become like this you can lose you humanity. If someone were to come to your high school and do this? Looking like this after what you know is countless surgeries seems horrifying.
