  • A day in the life of a trike driver is a tough life in the Philippines! Driving a trike motorcycle often means living in poverty in the Philippines, and hard jobs in the Philippines are more common than you might believe, but somehow, a happy Filipino is an even more common sight! Let's ride along for a day, and see what this man's life is like - and maybe make his day even brighter! Pay it forward, folks .... ‪@TheFilipinaPea‬

      Excellent practical educational info Pea!
      As per usual… 😃
With the borders opening soon, at long last, this is an appropriate and very useful piece of information for newly arrived foreigners!
You think of everything, thank you.
And, as a, now, “classic Pea very generous act of kindness “ you so tactfully managed to provide this hard working family with at leat one monh of fresh supplies.
And the rest you certainly done off screen.

nice video, Ms PEA ..........a tough life or a good life is all depends on the person / family. Some people call it a tough life because of lack of money ....BUT ...,.,..other people say it's a good life as to be simple as poor. You know what I mean ? ..........................and ...................the ending is ....always .....Hilarious ...and ....make sure to have pesos with you ha ha ha ha ha

Hi I came across your channel by accident. You are amazing and very creative! I wanted to give you some perspective on race you may not have considered. I watch 2 videos where you talked about lighter skin and the history behind the preferences. I disagree with you when you say it’s just about preference. Everything has a root, and the history speaks for itself. Before the invasion of outsiders, the views of the people were not preferring white skin over their original skin tone they were born with. The outsiders made it a point to separate and class the native people there by the color of their skin to make them feel inferior, and undervalued. That’s racist and prejudice all rolled up in one! This was done with the enslavement of Africans brought to America as well. People of color dominate the planet not whiteness! The brain 🧠 washing and white washing that continues to infest cultures around the world 🌎 is disappointing, and disrespectful to the origins from whence they originated. I look forward to hearing back from you no matter how long it takes. I’m sure you’re busy with life and creating content for your many projects. Congratulations on your channel and continued success🙂

My favorite memory of my first trip to the Philippines was spending half the day with a trike driver on LapuLapu . I gave him a 1000 pesos and told him to just show me around the area. We even had lunch together. I wanted to check out the gas station and topped the trike off. Cool honest guy. He took me around the area for a few hours. He was honest. He could have just taken me around for a little bit and called it good. I wouldn't have known any difference Being new to the Philippines I didn't know that was a lot. He is a close friend now years later and I'm the godfather of his youngest.

Totally unexpected and totally wonderful. I have seen many shades of poverty in Africa, in Asia and in North America and of course I have seen documentaries about the poverty, the cause of poverty and so on. But I have never seen something like this where a "local", with a loving smile, dug down into the details (how much money do you make etc), and with a smile appreciated the love, the nature of the family, the need to survive and to not pass judgement, to not look down upon those with less material means. Most people (especially from the so called "developed" worlds) can not go in, ask questions, let the viewers see the simple beauty of living without tons of stuff. Even many "locals" could not or would not, do what you did - that is to show the beauty in people's lives. God bless you, Pea.

I have a friend who lives in metro Manila and started a new job a couple of weeks ago,I asked how long it takes her to get to work in the morning as her previous job was far from home and I was hoping to hear this new job was nearby. Her answer was 30km, she'd run out of money and couldn't afford a ride and was walking 30km to and from work (each way,6am start). She said, its OK I'm a province girl not a Manila girl, I said no it's not OK,you are in a customer service role and need to look good when you get to work each morning, what if it's raining or really hot. I sent her some money so she can catch the bus each day until her first wage arrives. It's an example of how hard a Filipino will go.

Hey Pea. I am a Canadian. I plan to move to Philippines to marry my girlfriend of 2 years very soon. I drove taxi in Canada for 43 years. I loved my work and I miss it very much. I know many other taxi drivers and most of them love their jobs. My observation is most drivers do their work because they love helping ppl. Those who work driving taxi for money are very unhappy and usually have bad health. Be happy with your work. Do it because you love it.

Cutting out the middle man is the best thing Danny could do. It is a big step for such a small income but if there is a will there is a way.

Well, Pea, when you were checking out with your grocery haul, I knew it was for the trike drivers family.
It's not fun making a young 50 year old run ... How long it takes to get up, from sitting on the floor (or roof) is a sign of age.
