HOW TO FIX YOUR BRICKED CARD 1-use your cpu GPU for video (or put the card in another pc with 2 video slots, and or IGP) 2-flash your bricked card with the backup bios 3-fixed
I did this, and bricked my Sapphire rx 580 pulse. I'm using the video output on the motherboard, and when booting up, I get BSoD. Is there anything I can do? I have the original BIOS on my pc, which boots up perfectly when I take the graphics card out. Any help?
Currently, I'm mining with my OC'ed R9 390. I get 33Mh/s right out of the bat :D I'm trying to source a second one for something not too exorbitant, wish me luck!! Great turtorial!
everyone i know that runs large farms always run 1060/1070 reason being is amd cards are more unstable, generate more heat and take a lot of work to get them to run right often needing to modify their bios and if you multiple that by 1000 to 20,000 cards it's clear why more farms are getting rid of their amd cards and going to nvidia because who wants to spend 500,000-1,000,000 man hours to get your mining up and running and tweaked. Amd = for hobbyists Nvidia=for serious farmers.
I personally use NiceHash. But i witnessed a guy selling hashrate for ethereum. And i heard someone really invested 30k € in that, the other guy got 900€ in provision. Well, i guess with the fork and the change in memory requirements, they will be very unhappy.
Tyrell Nelson You know what. When the DAG reach 3gb, the POS will come right after it. So owning a 3gb is one of the best opinion. Especially nvidia 1060 3gb. To shift into zcash
Why are gamers so mad at miners. I am a gamer my self. I have 3 PCs. A mid range one, a high end one and a low end one. I don't undestand why blame miners. They are just buying a product that helps them earn money. If all gamers bought all GPUs and there was none left and lets say video editors got mad because there are no GPUs for them how owuld gamers respond. Think about it.
One thing I love about your videos that your telling the potential truth and warnings... And it's upto viewers whether to involve or not and the reality of Bitcoin and mining... Hat's off brother❤❤❤
I have an R9 390 (ASUS one), 35MHz core clock increase gives about 1Mh/s, while +800 on the memory clock did basically nothing, maybe around 0,1-0,2Mh/s.
I have no idea about any of this besides this video and your last video but I'm intrigued. Is aNVIDIA GTX 1060 6GB going to work or only the cards you mentioned work for mining? (My build was budget af, leave me alone.)
Just used the info in this video to mod the bios on my MSi RX570 8g Armor OC edition card. Went from 633 h/s on cryptonight to 752 h/s and 21 Mh/s on ETH to just shy of 26 Mh/s. Not sure how far I can push the memory OC on this card with Hynix memory. WhatToMine recommends the ETH Mod I just did, underclocking the core to 1100 and OCing the memory to 2000 which is what I've done but wondering if I can push the memory further and have it stay stable. I guess I can just inch it up little by little until it become unreliable and then back off a couple steps. Anyhow, good video and definitely helped me make more money. Thumbs up!
@UFDisciple any suggestion on what kind of hardware should i buy, I really wanna start mining but i dont know what kind of hardwares should i buy, motherboard, processor, hard drive, GPUs, I'm planning on buying 7GPU. Please answer me
My 1080's memory is only operating at 4.5 ghz stock. GPU at 1835 MHz and I'm getting around 27 mh/s why is the stock memory clock so low? Should I turn down the GPU if I turn up the memory clock? Also the power is at 71%
saltygamer well it won't be as efficient but you can do a lot with MSI afterburner. You could also in theory just flash and reboot every time you want to switch between mining and gaming
Hahaha that music though man all you needed was a breaking glass and a woman screaming in the distance for me to soil my pants. haha Great video as always!!! I dont mine myself but I enjoy the effort you put in !
I am just curious what happens if you brick the GPU as I do not want to risk this I got an RX480 before the price hikes and am thinking of either mining or selling but am sort of leaning towards mining
Is it safe to lower frequencies on core clock while having the same voltage? And if you do lower the core clock, do you have more headroom for the memory clock?
Thanks for the video. It worked great on my Asus card. Have you ever tried it on an XFX card? When I load the BIOS in the Polaris BIOS editor, I have unexpected values in the Timing column - not the 1750/2000 I was expecting. These are the timing options (in order). I did not include the hex values: 11756627 503316 677998 26843895 26843895 26843895 26843895 26843897 26843897 26843897 26843897 26843898 26843898 26843898 26843898 26843895
Hey UFDisciple Don't you think that AMD vega whould be more better for Ethereum and Nvidai for Bitcoin because nvidai gpu has a better cpu or processor where as Vega have a better Ram and not a better processor than Nvidia gpus.
everything you said is false. GDDR5X and HBM is not good for GPU mining (check out the Radeon Fury X and 1080ti, both suck). As far as your GPU claim, it's not true in every case. Just because you see Nvidia GPU generaly performing better in DX11 games, does not mean they are better. For example in general computational tasks, AMD leads by a large margin. API specific games (DX12, Vulkan) games, AMD gains considerably more than nVidia. Stop being so closed minded about the GPU market. Not everything is so simple so that you can say one is better than the other.
We should be very happy. Because when Ether does the fork, most of the GPUs that are used for mining right now will be useless, and the market will be flooded with used AMD GPUs. I am actually looking forward to that and can't wait to get my dirt cheap RX580 4GB card.
More likely when Ether goes to shit miners will just switch to other currencies, Monero, SiaCoin and so on. As long as AMD/Nvidia can't keep up with demand, prices won't decrease.
as long as the card has not been physically altered or bios-hacked or stuff like that, i see no problem with that. as an electronics professional, i know that running at 100% for long time does not hurt electronics in general. aside from moving parts like fans, electronic parts do not "wear off" over time. in fact, repeatedly turning a part on and off puts much more stress on the components that to run them at full load 24/7. the only thing putting stress on components is the heating up or cooling down, because that makes metals inside the components contract or expand, wich can lead to micro cracks over time. but once a gpu for example has heated up to 90°C and then stays there, that will not hurt the components too much. running it overclocked when gaming is much more stress, because you have changing loads and changing temps all the time, depending on what is on the screen. and that puts real stress on the components and pcb.
Any experience with Fury cards? I got a Pro Duo and I can't change the memory speeds. And lowering the gpus affect the hashrate quite signicantly. Going from 56 to about 49 with a change of 200mhz.
2gb cards won't be able to mine for much longer. The estimated date that the dag file gets too big is like January-february. Even now they perform poorly. That being said ethereum isn't the most profitable coin to mine right now.
Thanks in advance all. I just got additional RX cards and now setting up my first mining rig. Kindly help. How do I config to run multiple cards to mine? I can't get anything working right now. Many thanks
Anyone know of the impact this has on gaming? Plan to mine and game on the side, but flashing the bios takes like 20 mins every time. Can I low spec game without hassle (Overwatch on Low 144hz)?
btw what version of the AMD drivers do u use because i couldn't make my modded bios to work even with pixel clock patcher on latest drivers and i had to reinstall 16.9.1 drivers
if u brick ur card u can unbrick it as long as u have the original bios and btw save the BIOS with ATI WinFlash not with GPU-Z the gpu-z saves the bios in 256 kbs and that bios is dangerous to flash while ATI WinFlash saves in 512 Kbs the warning that u get from Polaris BIOS Editor is not for nothing
Guys, would it be possible to connect 2 Nvidia Geforce gtx 1070 's to Asrock h55m-le motherboard. Also, I have Intel core i3 530 CPU and 4GB RAM. I'm going to make a starter ethereum mining rig. Sorry for the newbie question but I have to start learning from somewhere.
I did this, and bricked my Sapphire rx 580 pulse. I'm using the video output on the motherboard, and when booting up, I get BSoD. Is there anything I can do? I have the original BIOS on my pc, which boots up perfectly when I take the graphics card out. Any help?
Hjalmar Vinje check for a setting in your bios to force the integrated graphics. It sounds like it's defaulting to the card when you have it installed.
Tried all the steps and all tutorials but I’m nowhere near the hashrates. Worst of all, I’m not even getting stock results, highest I’m getting for eth is 21.9mh/s on my rx 580 8gb!!!
I couldn't get my Rx 480 to be detected after the flash. I have the new amd adrenaline drivers. I tried reinstalling them with no luck. I used the pixle clock patcher. I reverted my card to the original BIOS and it worked again. Please help i want that increased hashrate. :)
I had same problem, dag file error, I changed my flash drive windows 10 to SSD windows 10, now it's working fine. Also WiFi internet connection was a problem for me. Run ethernet power line.
Gamers stop crying and learn how to crossfire cards, just buy 2x rx460 or rx560 cards and yall should be fine. Mining cards should be arriving next month and the gaming ones should be more available, be patient
Could anyone help-- My timing (MHZ) are all over the place - the first one is 23645423, the second one is 545329 - the third one is 7049078 --and so on. Help is much apreccieated!!!!!
Driver is wrong ... Crimson blockchain driver work like near 30Mh/s. and normal driver the same bios and afterburner setings work like 20Mh/s.... must change driver for blockchain
I switched from graphics to compute in Radeon software and got between 28.5 to 30.5Mhs depending on the card (I have multi brand cards)... With a total of 174Mhs with six cards. However, my 1060 only giving me a total of 61Mhs (3 Cards: 23, 19, 19 Respectively).
well this explains why they are out of stock. i keep it to work and right investments money is cold and dangerous if gotten wrongly.... good tutorial though for me i might be able to do this but it is to risky in my eyes :)
Karl Marx I'd be at nearly zero risk with my gpu if I was just looking to drop power draw and tighten those ram timings up. My powercolor rx 480 has a dual bios. The only thing is if I actually wanna give it a try. It's just a lot if work if I wanna try to confirm stability.
HOW TO FIX YOUR BRICKED CARD
1-use your cpu GPU for video (or put the card in another pc with 2 video slots, and or IGP)

Boot into DOS and use the DOS flash tool. you can burn DOS to a usb its really small

Dude! I have not been able to find a detailed mod for the 580 4GB until I watched this. Bravo, sir.
It worked for my 64-bit PC. Thanks a lot.
Currently, I'm mining with my OC'ed R9 390. I get 33Mh/s right out of the bat :D I'm trying to source a second one for something not too exorbitant, wish me luck!! Great turtorial!
Exactly what im using
I once almost got an R9 390x for pretty cheap. Wish I actually managed to, great cards.
everyone i know that runs large farms always run 1060/1070 reason being is amd cards are more unstable, generate more heat and take a lot of work to get them to run right often needing to modify their bios and if you multiple that by 1000 to 20,000 cards it's clear why more farms are getting rid of their amd cards and going to nvidia because who wants to spend 500,000-1,000,000 man hours to get your mining up and running and tweaked. Ive got two r9 380 4gb running at 18mhs unmodded. Unfortunately temps are high at 78c
am i right to feel sad for someone who just bought ethereum hashrate for a price of 30k € ?
TSteffi U use genesis mining or hashflare
I personally use NiceHash.
But i witnessed a guy selling hashrate for ethereum. And i heard someone really invested 30k € in that, the other guy got 900€ in provision.
Well, i guess with the fork and the change in memory requirements, they will be very unhappy.
DAG is 2.04gb so 4gig cards are good for a while
where you find that value for dag?
Tyrell Nelson You know what. When the DAG reach 3gb, the POS will come right after it. So owning a 3gb is one of the best opinion. Especially nvidia 1060 3gb. To shift into zcash

because if i needed 10 cards to play games even i would think i'm a asshole
Well I got 3 cards to play games. 2 in one computer, and the other to have as a second computer to game with at the same time.
Ian Visser you made the premium you stupid fuck when miners buy 20 cards at a time you increase demand which in turn increases cost
hay more money to the companies that make gpu's so they can make better gpu's. this is a good thing.
The Smurf If you’re too poor to pay for pc parts, then don’t fucking buy them
One thing I love about your videos that your telling the potential truth and warnings... And it's upto viewers whether to involve or not and the reality of Bitcoin and mining... Hat's off brother❤❤❤
I thought most was slightly underclocking/undervolting to increase efficiency. you'de burn much more power for not much more hashrate.
Thank you! I increased my performance by %16.25.
concise and brilliant! great work bro...
I have an R9 390 (ASUS one), 35MHz core clock increase gives about 1Mh/s, while +800 on the memory clock did basically nothing, maybe around 0,1-0,2Mh/s.

Is a Fury X really good for mining ? I have one sitting in its box here gathering dust, I'm guessing its pretty good with its HBM ?
"IF its option 1....I'm sorry" I cried out laughing XD lololol. Love your stuff bro. You got a sub!
is it better if i mine ethereum or should i go nicehash? :)
Great video!
You are best bro
Explain very simply
Just used the info in this video to mod the bios on my MSi RX570 8g Armor OC edition card. Went from 633 h/s on cryptonight to 752 h/s and 21 Mh/s on ETH to just shy of 26 Mh/s. Very good video UFDisciple LIKE!!
Wouldn't just overclocking the memory do the same thing but with less risk?
YOYOYOYOYO, you the man. Do you think its worth it to buy or build a solar generator to increase profit levels.
Would flashing the BIOS affect gaming performance drastically? Or am I better off casually mining with the stock BIOS?
saltygamer well it won't be as efficient but you can do a lot with MSI afterburner. You could also in theory just flash and reboot every time you want to switch between mining and gaming
an excellent video. however, I only own 7 1050ti's can you instruct on how to modify it's bios?

I am just curious what happens if you brick the GPU as I do not want to risk this I got an RX480 before the price hikes and am thinking of either mining or selling but am sort of leaning towards mining
u can unbrick it as long as u have a IGPU or a spare graphics card u can find a tutorial online
When I try and do this with my RX 480 4gb, I also have a 1900 row in the timings section, should i copy the 1500 values into there, too?
Is it safe to lower frequencies on core clock while having the same voltage? And if you do lower the core clock, do you have more headroom for the memory clock?

thing is, do you want a card were the warranty is voided and has been running at 100% for countless hours? Most companies won't rma these cards
as long as the card has not been physically altered or bios-hacked or stuff like that, i see no problem with that.
as an electronics professional, i know that running at 100% for long time does not hurt electronics in general. aside from moving parts like fans, electronic parts do not "wear off" over time. in fact, repeatedly turning a part on and off puts much more stress on the components that to run them at full load 24/7.

TSteffi not to mention an undervolted card runs cooler and so fans aren't stressed as much.
You prolly only want one GPU installed on the system when flashing the GPU's bios...
Thank you UFDisciple!!!

I am not actually paying for utilities, would this help me to have earn more money daily despite power consumption? NiceHash with 280x and 750ti
I have a gtx 970 but hash rate only lets me chose to mine cryptonight and the it switches automatically to another like zcash or idk...PLEASE HELP!!
Alexandru Munteanu if it switched you it's because that's what would make you the most money
Hello ! Can you please let us know... How many hashes that Nvidia Tesla k80 could really make? It would be so helpful !
Does the amount of GPU memory matter anything on mining rate ?
RX460, 2GB is significantly cheaper than the 4GB version, around 35% less.
2gb cards won't be able to mine for much longer. The estimated date that the dag file gets too big is like January-february. Even now they perform poorly. That being said ethereum isn't the most profitable coin to mine right now.
You should mine zec if you have an nvidia GPU.
Thanks in advance all. I just got additional RX cards and now setting up my first mining rig. Kindly help. How do I config to run multiple cards to mine? I can't get anything working right now. Many thanks
Ryzen 5 1600 and EVGA FTW GTX 1080 here. What currency 2 mine?
Maybe don't mine so your GTX 1080 doesn't have to deal with the wear and tear that comes with mining. 1080's are bad miners anyways
Youri Dv 1080s arent bad at mining at all. mining zcash might be best for him
I've not backed up the Asus RX570 expedition OC VBIOS..now I ended up with moded BIOS Which doesn't works with driver what to do now..
Anyone know of the impact this has on gaming? Plan to mine and game on the side, but flashing the bios takes like 20 mins every time. Can I low spec game without hassle (Overwatch on Low 144hz)?

is there a site that checks my hardware and shows me results if it is worth mining with my pc? Ty
overclocking the card with the normal tools is under warranty. At least for Nvidia cards. No idea about amd...
Risk is good, so take it or you losse it. Your Trick is verry Good Bro. Keep it up !
Thanks!
great channel donated some to help you guys out!
I did this, and bricked my Sapphire rx 580 pulse. I'm using the video output on the motherboard, and when booting up, I get BSoD. Is there anything I can do? I have the original BIOS on my pc, which boots up perfectly when I take the graphics card out. Any help?

i can not open atiwinflash, i have " critical file missing " error
how can i fix this ? please help me
Will this work with an R9 380?
Expect lower efficiency I guess
I couldn't get my Rx 480 to be detected after the flash. I have the new amd adrenaline drivers. I tried reinstalling them with no luck. I used the pixle clock patcher. I reverted my card to the original BIOS and it worked again. Please help i want that increased hashrate. :)
Is it still profitable to mine with a 7970?
can you please make a video on how to make your own pool for bitcoin
Will I still be able to game on it without any problems after editing the bios ?
you can stil game
Thanks for the tips, Nerdy Paul Walker.
You're welcome!
my rx 470 stays the same amout of hashrate eben though i flash it with everystep? why???
do I need high speed internet in order to do mining?
hi tnx for good video, just got problem i have r9 280 but polaris can't seems to read saved bios any idea what to do with it?
Ok i see all these comments and posts saying the 1080 gets around 3-4 dollars
But im mining with a non overclocked one making 9-12 dollars a day and have been for 3 weeks
Maybe you're just luckier than they are? I couldn't say.
thank you for the great video, I like the way you teach, can you make a video for Linux users? thanks
How can i do this to a gpu with ethOS do it on windows and transfer it over?
How should I mod my bios with the sapphire nitro + rx 580 i am confused with the bios switch
do you need a gpu to mine bit coin ?
How does the Ati 550 4gb hold up on hash rates
does memory try matter like Hynix vs Samsung?
Whichever gets the tighter timings would be better. My guess is that would be the Samsung memory. I have nothing to verify that with.
wrong timing my 570 4g card gives 29.5 and 8g give 35 :)
Please do NOT use gpuz to save and backup your bios. Use atiwinflash to load and backup your original and modded roms. Edit in srb Polaris editor.
Any ideas why I can't get this to run on my rx550 or my r9 270x? I get that dag error saying not enough memory but my cards are 2GB
Ethereum miner need atleast a 3GB+ card for mining...
So a 280 or 280x would be like the bare minimum for requirements. Good to know. There's some 3GB Nvidia cards if I remember correctly too
6gb very very soon 3gb will not be able to mine anymore. Another reason all my cards are 6gb and up.
3gb cards now get the dag error sometimes
I had same problem, dag file error, I changed my flash drive windows 10 to SSD windows 10, now it's working fine. Also WiFi internet connection was a problem for me. Run ethernet power line.
Wow. Fantastic content man. ☃️
Gamers stop crying and learn how to crossfire cards, just buy 2x rx460 or rx560 cards and yall should be fine. Mining cards should be arriving next month and the gaming ones should be more available, be patient
Is it worth to flash for zcash?
Only one way to find out, but tighter memory timings don't usually see that much benefit on Equihash.
Can a 1050 Ti mine decently?
For Ethereum? If you have the 4GB card, you could expect about 12-14 MH/s. Might be a bit more with it to mine Zcash instead.
Reed Crosby yes but I would not recommend mining Eth
I had a 1050ti 4gb i had 10 to 12 mh/s it was ok, it made like 1 dollar to 2 dollars per day.
UFDisciple Thanks, BTW, great job on the x299 video, don't know what you get some such hate for that...
If its prices rised by 40% out here, it apparently can.
what about the amd radeon rx 550 4gb?
Could anyone help-- My timing (MHZ) are all over the place - the first one is 23645423, the second one is 545329 - the third one is 7049078 --and so on. Help is much apreccieated!!!!!
dude great vid!
do you wany to sell yr old gpu's..
this is nice and all but how to spend Ethereum?
R9 290/390 guide please :((
AQ Set the mem to 1300 and core to as high as possible
Boom 30mh/s on a 290 and more than 32 on a 390
Thankyou man 😘
hey man please uploadm your bios for RX580 8GB card please

Thai Q. Ly did you switch your Radeon setting from graphical to compute!? Running my rx480 8gb at 26.5mh/s
Many thanks friend... I have just changed it. Thanks again
How does one do this?
Driver is wrong ... Crimson blockchain driver work like near 30Mh/s. and normal driver the same bios and afterburner setings work like 20Mh/s.... must change driver for blockchain
I switched from graphics to compute in Radeon software and got between 28.5 to 30.5Mhs depending on the card (I have multi brand cards)... With a total of 174Mhs with six cards. However, my 1060 only giving me a total of 61Mhs (3 Cards: 23, 19, 19 Respectively).
My R9 390 card out of the box gives me 28 Mh/s
Pls do a BIOS flashing with NVIDIA cards!!!!
He already said in this video it cannot be done as Nvidia BIOS's are encrypted on the card.

Why not use Windows Ethereum Miner? You download it, install it, put your Ethereum user ID and password in, click mine. Done.
well this explains why they are out of stock.
i keep it to work and right investments money is cold and dangerous if gotten wrongly....
good tutorial though for me i might be able to do this but it is to risky in my eyes :)
