  • Backup Generator DUROMAX 13000EH enclosed. 3 Final Run, with CENTRAL Air Conditioner 4 Ton GOODMAN at full operating perfectly. THE BEST GENERATOR running whole house. run my Central AC, But I am so confident in this DUROMAX GENERATOR 13000EH, That I showed it to my friends, and now they are going to do the same setup. I AM TELLING YOU, IT WORKS SO SMOOTH. All my friends thought that this will never run the 4 Ton A/C and the house ALL TOGETHER, but you can see it does it all. I love it!,,,AWSOME!!!, REMEMBER, I GOT A SOFT START INSTALLED ON MY A/C, it's cheap, dont worry, but it will also make your A/C last longer. Also need 2, 45 degrees copper welded solders together for the exhaust, so it can have a bigger exhaust, let me know if you need more pictures, send me your EMAIL.
    I built the plastic shed, but I bought it from Sams Club and than I made all the Mods without putting it together, first, I made all the Holes and installed everything even the fan. Its easier that way, Than I started putting it together using a good brown polyurethane silicone on all the edges that unite the seams of the shed together.
    These are some items I used below on the links. Walker (40000) 1" Diameter - 25' Galvanized Flex Tube. Don't forget the last one on the bottom, for the floor of the Generator for Vibration, Horse Mat for Stalls.

The AC units were made in 2015 so not really new. We ran all of this on just propane so it would be even better if we ran gas.

    NOTE: I'd suggest taking your exhaust 'up' toward the roofline to dissipate it better and avoid any fumes coming into house; would need a hood to prevent water.
    Here in Fort Worth you have to have an interlock or transfer switch to meet electrical code (physically prevents the ability to have Main and Generator breakers both on at same time).

    • @ORLANDOBUSA
      @ORLANDOBUSA  3 года назад +2

      well the fumes are coming out to back yard direction, and the switch was not done, because i just chose it that way to do it manually and i put instructions for anybody else in my family to do it correctly. I just like it for me to control everything and its easy, SHUT OFF MAIN POWER FIRST ALWAYS THAN TURN ON GEN BREAKER. THANK YOU

    • @HollywoodBush
      @HollywoodBush 3 года назад +2

      @@ORLANDOBUSA Check with your homeowners insurance. If you have an electrical fire they may not pay because your wiring is not up to code. They may not cover if someone gets hurt because of your setup. Check with the manufacturer of your service panel. Most have or can recommend the appropriate interlock for your panel. In a worse case situation you can replace the service panel with one that is suitable for you generator use. Doing it right can be cheap liability insurance.

    Nice video. You did a great job with that generator shed. I can tell you from experience with super storm sandy having a large generator that runs at 3600 rpm can eat up fuel in a hurry. Had a Honda es6500 and I can tell you the damn thing was thirsty. I had a natural gas kit on it but it didn’t help me because the gas company turned off the
    gas. Had to run it on propane and gasoline which was hard to find. Switched over to an eu7000IS that sips fuel compared to that Es6500 and it’s much quieter. It’s not cheap but if I ever go through another big storm I’ll be able to keep the lights on much longer

    Really cool...(pun intended) So it appears that your home is likely running on a 200-amp panel. The Duromax 13000EH puts out (87.50A / 43.75A), and that 4-ton Goodman sucks up about 20amps, you showed the one fridge plus lights etc. What do you figure the total pull of amps on the Duromax was at full demand?

    • @ORLANDOBUSA
      @ORLANDOBUSA  11 месяцев назад

      Yes all that is true, and working great, the total pull, I am not sure, because I am not good on that part, just the fabrication part. But it works great for a long time as long as I feed it Propane which I got a bigger tank now, so I leave gasoline for the last resort due to make sure its clean and dont go bad on the propane., you like my idea?

      Just a note on the gasoline run time. I have the same generator, I ran it for 5 hours break-in, changed the oil, then used it to power our 42 foot 5th wheel RV for 4 nights, 10 hours per night, with both AC units running non-stop in 90-100* heat. The 2 hottest nights, it would run out of fuel right at 10 hours. (Holds 8.3 Gallons). The 2 milder nights, low of 85-90* the 2 AC compressors would run constant for 2-3 hours, then cycle on and off. It used 5 gallons those nights, so 1/2 gallon per hour. Each AC is 13,500 BTU, so combined they are almost 2-1/2 tons, with lighting, inverter, battery charger and other loads, it was probably equivalent to running a 3 ton home AC. After that, changed the oil again at 45 hours run time, to full synthetic. Should extend it's life, and maybe improve efficiency a bit. I am going to try running it on propane today. Getting a transfer switch put in next week, to run the house. AC unit is 5 tons, so probably going to need a soft start kit to reduce the max inrush current.

    Air flow ought to be left to right and the exhaust extended to the right and past the A/C. The generator's engine has both its air intake (air filter and air blower suction) on the left. With that design, the exhaust fan would be fighting with the engine air intakes and the inside of the shed would be swimming in air turbulence.... with the exhaust fan pushing the air right to left while the engine blower is pushing the air left to right.

      @@paulmysliborski4832 It won't probably kill it immediately and would be reasonably fine in relatively cold climates. But I would argue that these air-cooled engines as well as the stator generate lots of heat and will very much benefit from optimal airflow. To put it another way, these open-frame generators weren't designed to operate with an enclosure, but since you're putting it in one, it makes sense to give it the best chance at cooling itself. Just saying.

      The purpose of an interlock is so you don’t put power to the grid. You either can have the main breaker on or the generator breaker on but not both at the same time. In the event power goes out and someone accidentally forgot to turn off the main breaker and you turned on your emergency generator it would back feed into the grid. If the electric company was working on the lines thinking there was no power and you were feeding power back into the grid, you could hurt someone and YOU would be liable.

      Agree-must have either a main breaker interlock OR a generator transfer switch. This, while it works, is not up to code because of safety. It is entirely possible for someone to power on and connect the generator circuit while still on live utility power. (Dangerous fire hazard)
      It’s also possible to power on and connect the generator during a power outage without disconnecting the utility feed- resulting in back feeding the utility line and electrocuting an unsuspecting utility worker repairing downed lines.
      It’s an unsafe problem because there’s no lockout equipment preventing a backfeed. Please get an electrician to make this safe. A building code inspector would never sign off on your setup.

But yes If you choose to go with other options, you can do what you choose, because I just feel much more in control of the system I have and I love it, I test it out every 3 months shutting down the main Power from the Power company with just a Breaker Switch on the top if you see it. the question is ? using all your equipment at the home, with AC on, how long will the tank of gas last you? You should consider since you have a nice set up to run it on natural gas.

    • @ORLANDOBUSA
      @ORLANDOBUSA  3 года назад +1

      Hi, Depends what is on , i never tried it with the AC and the Range cooking at the same time, But the AC and the frig is more important, and the lights, working perfectly, i never tried how long, yes i Know but there is no Natural gas around her for connection, the company dont want to do that, but i will get a bigger tank.

      I bought the same generator. Have read multiple places that you should get a 40 pound tank (minimum). The small grill size tanks will give 5 to 8 hours run time at 50 percent load, but they tend to ice up or freeze at the valve after 3 to 4 hours, because they are not designed to flow that much gas volume.
