I fuckin' love that he's one of the coolest vocalists that totally looks like a math teacher
he needs to grow a beard
@@carlosluismendez7392 With that voice, he doesn't "need" to do anything, lol.
That's what cool with todays band, and groups. You can look like whatever you want.
Watch "Within Temptation". A beautiful woman lead singer. Without even one piercing, or tattoo.
bad religion‘s singer today :-)
💯🙂
By far Hansi Kursch is one of the most underrated lead singers ever, he should be in Dickinson an Dio's table
I was there. It was the most epic and unforgettable moment in my life.
That sky, that lighting during wicked witch... just EPIC.
Óia aí mah, o Gustavo kkkk
I agree. I was there, and there are still goosebumps all over my arms whenever I watch this video. Unforgettable. A magic moment if there ever was one.
This was a show I willl forever be saddened by missing. 😔
Fuck you to all who were there. I die with envy. Fuck yeah!!!!!!!
"Maybe next year"
Oh, little did we know...
And it's a goddamn shame.
*Cries because I'll never have the privilege of seeing D&W live.* Who knows if they are done though. Time heals all wounds.
@@MrEgofreak Hansi quitted, so they certainly won't. But still I have hope that they continue without Jon...
@@tobias3023 I'm pretty sure Jon was the composer, as in the music was his and the lyrics Hansi's, so without him... there's probably no Demons&Wizards, unfortunately.
1:03 he seems like he has forseen what will be happening I mean look at that gaze. His facial expression literally said not gonna happen
"It would be nice... TAKE MY HAND!!" Yes, Hansi, gladly.
Id pay for that
Hansi is a metal Jedi. He's had his voice all along, but it keeps getting better through the years as he learns how to control his power!
nah dog he hides it from the world to hold off the heat death of the universe
This was one of the most unforgettable moments of my life. Demons & Wizards was the reason we traveled to Deutschland (first time off the NA continent). The entire experience was magic. I left a piece of my heart in the fourth row of this concert.
You’re so lucky. I saw them here in Los Angeles. But If I could I would have preferred to see them on this Wacken concert.
So awesome you went for it. I hope to go to Waken too some year soon. Were places to stay really expensive?
That's awesome!

This Is the best song on Demons and Wizards first album. Any one agree? Anybody still listening to their first album In 2020?
Everyday. This is by far my favorite song in life. Shit touched my soul
Still here
Absolutely agree
This is their best song period
I love it so much this song brings tears to my eyes
Jake Dreyer´s solo is a piece of art. It really adds to this amazing song........................
If you listen closely at 5:34 , you'll hear the "Reacts To Fiddler on The Green" videos getting filmed even before the song was uploaded.
im ok with that. its about time people give this band the credit they deserve. which hopefully in turn leads them to iced earth and bling guardian afterwards.
@@band77one I would definitely listen to a band named Bling Guardian lol

This song is emotional enough but knowing will most likely never hear this live again in person makes it more so
I'll never be able to repay that one guy who replied to my ancient ass comment on some old Blind Guardian video pointing me to this one to prove how good Hansi's voice is still is. I discovered what's now one of my favourite songs thanks to you, man
Man what a voice!
As a soon to be father THIS is the one thing I wish to pass on to my child. May Metal live on forever.
hansi scream is one of the best thing my ears ever heard, love the original song too but this live it's really nice. top 1 fan demons and wizards here.
Hansi saying "It wont be another 19 years" brings me to absolute tears, i never got to see Iced Earth or Demons and wizards, the day i found out that i would probably never see either of them was absolutely crushing...
How does that saying go? Don't be sad it is over, be glad it happened. They had that one tour in 2000 and Hansi was unwell throughout. I for one never expected to see FotG live, but I am forever grateful that they managed this. I could not ask for a better venue or live recording than at Wacken. We might never see the Demon and the Wizard on stage again, but we will always have this \m/
@@RaiKov That is very true, to be honest i do cry a little every time i watch this recording, but as you said, be glad that it happened..
Hansi threw Jon under the bus. What an asshole.
@@DarkMatterBurritoAll Jon had to do was just play guitar. Jan.6 was a honeypot of epic proportions and he fell for it. No one forced him to go there. Then he goes to jail then sells out the rest of the Oathkeepers and throws THEM under the bus and goes into witness protection to save his own ass.
I was fortunate enough to see D&W in London on this tour. All thrown into the fire with Jon's crap though.
My best friend was recently buried to this, he was 29! I’m 35 and we both educated each other about metal/rock just music in general and he sent me this a few times and I never appreciate it until now! Beautiful song, beautifully done live! Brings me tears every time I hear it now!

This song is not just a song - it's a hymn, incredibly beautiful and a hymn to all mankind!!! Impossible not to love it.
Hansi is one of the best Metal singer!! Worldwide!!
One of the best singers of his time, such a damn beautiful tone he has!
This is a complete masterpiece, one of my favorite songs. Jake Dreyer is a beast performing that solo.
Its quite sad D&W will not exist any more. :(
Between D&W breaking up, Delain practically ceasing to exist, and Marko Hietala leaving Nightwish - it's been a hell of first two months of 2021 for all of us, I think :(
And I just saw it right now, with your post... =(( terribly sad, my friday is sucking right now
I just discovered this song -- and this band, for that matter -- a couple of weeks ago. This song quickly became one of my favorites, and then I thought, "I should really find a live version and check it out." And that's how I arrived here. And I was NOT disappointed!
Kürsch has one of the most unique voices of all time. God broke the mold on his vocal cords.
Whenever I hear Hansi's voice, it warms my heart... feel like I'm young again...
The saddest fact is knowing that this band no longer exists 😢😢😭😭😭.
I hope to see them together again in the future.
Wow I never thought I would hear hansi scream live anymore... probably because he wasnt on a very long tour he was able to give 100%.

2023 y sigue siendo una de mis presentaciónes favoritas de Wacken...
Absolutamente impecable...
I'll leave these lyrics here so you can sing along.
Sad voices they're calling
Our precious girl she can't be gone
How bitter this morning
When daddy's darling
Went out and started her day
Wasn't there a dream last night
Like a spring never ending
Still the water runs clear
Through my mind
On the field I can see a fiddler
The fiddler on the green
And the sad boy
I took him too early
Would you mind
Would you mind
Would you mind
If I take you
(To be with you)
(To be with you)
(To be with you)
The sun seemed bright
The air was clear
The air was clear (clear)
A trick of light
Turned red into green
She saw the light
Her face was pale
Her body smashed
Her beauty's gone
Isn't it a shame
The reaper said
He is quite alone here
And still waiting for you
Oh I really did fail for the first time
Spoke the fiddler, poor old fiddler
The fiddler on the green
The fiddler on the green
It would be nice
Take my hand
Just hold my hand
I'll take you there
Your pain will go away
I dont understand who is the sad boy in the begining
@@S.D1010 I read this in an article of some american metal site from 2002, I think. The story is quite moving:
Hansi wrote these lyrics after he witnessed two car accidents in his neighbourhood while he was walking his dog and were two young children on bicycles were killed. The first accident involved a young boy, the second a girl two weeks later. He imagined that the reaper made a mistake and took the boy before his time. The soul of the boy could not go to heaven because it was way too early and so the reaper created some kind of temporary paradise for the boy who now was stuck in limbo. The reaper desperately wants to make up for his failure and finally finds the girl that would have become the boys wife if he would not have taken him. So he appears in her dreams as a fiddler on a green pasture with the lonely boy and asks her if she would mind if he takes her too so that the boy is no longer alone. So in Hansis imagination, the reaper arranged the second accident to take the girl so that the two souls who were meant to be together in life at least are together in death and not alone anymore.
Hansi Kuersch is not only a fantastic vocalist but also a fantastic lyricist.

No lie, i listen to this song every day at work. Perfect way to start the day!!!
It truly is amazing! Does the office get to hear too? Or do you have headphones?
One the most beautiful metal songs ever. Also, likely the saddest -- I can never listen to it without a thousand chefs suddently chopping onions around me.
"Maybe next year. We work on that" aged horribly, who would've known. Anyhow one of those songs that are very good in their studio versions and another 10 times better live.
Well done RUclips's recommendation!
5:33 shakes my soul to the core
Absolute goosebumps!
I cry to this song at times when life becomes too much. BG & DW saved my life with their art. Thankfully, snagged the tshirt of this song with the verse "Just take my hand.... your pain will go away". Imagine what that means to a BG/DW fan who lives in chronic pain. I wear it whenever I have to go to the hospital.. or just when I'm in need of comfort from the world.
I'm sad we'll never hear it live again.. although I'm hoping for it against everything! Someday... 🙏
Hansi's voice is on my top 5 vocalist of all time
Through sheer happenstance I stumbled across this song. I kept playing it over and over and wanted to hear what it sounded like live and that's how I arrived to this video. I don't know the name of a single person in this band but am amazed at the talent. The vocalist's power and control live is absolutely NUTS. I bet being there for this concert was nothing short of legendary. 'll have to check out the rest of their discography
Unfortunately this band is no more. Hansi (the singer) ended the collaboration after Jon Schaffer (guitarist) participated in the January 6th riots. This was one of the last performances the band ever did. Hansi's main band is Blind Guardian, so I'd recommend you check them out as well
@fruitchewx127 WOW! Thank you for that incredibly informative comment. I'm bummed to hear that the band is no more but very much respect the decision. "All good things must come to an end" as the old adage goes. - I'll be sure to check out your recommendation! Thank you!

That was a concert to tell about in the years to come. Hansi´s way to sing, John´s way to play the songs, just great.
I was standing in 2nd row just left of the stage... damn I had a sore throat already but when they startet chanting valhalla again and again it was all forgotten. (well, I could hardly speak on Saturday... but it is Wacken, right?)
Sadly, as I saw onmageta-music (they have the full concert there!) the crowd startet to sing the bard´s song (in the forrest) just before they switched to the commercials on the bis screens. Would have been so good to sing that song just for Hansi.
