and I can't fooken STAND him. I'm sorry, I know he's a legend, there's just something about his voice I fooken hate; and I think it's the gurgling vibration he just can't get effing enough of. I wish all the bands he was in were issuing instrumental versions of their sutff along with because the music is AWESOME.
If they were to pick an album to be their last, they couldnt have left us with a better masterpiece. This song is going on my all time favorite epic metal masterpieces. RIP Demons & Wizards.
Hopefully Demons and Wizards and Iced Earth will be back when Mr. Schaffer is back. The two bands, specifically Hansi and John, are too talented to not be making music.

The moment Hansi starts singing the whole room sparks with electricity, the moment Jon plays his first riff the ground and ceiling start burning. They couldn't have picked a better name for this band. So glad we get a new album in 2020.

@@Nightdominia I was told it existed earlier today and sought it out.
I knew that a video or a single was on the way before the album was officially released. I was already a huge fan of Iced Earth since 1995 and Blind Guardian since 1997, so I had no problem buying the first album even without hearing one song back in 1999 on the day of release. The same a few years later for the second album. I was definitely getting the third album. It really is awesome how amazing these two are separately and together. Both Hansi and Jon have been writing phenomenal music since the beginning of their careers. I love all three Demons And Wizards albums but this new one might be my favorite. I love the variety of different styles of Hard Rock/Heavy Metal music on it. I hope that it doesn't take another fifteen years for another new album to come out. I also heard Hansi on an interview say that a live album/ DVD/ Blu-ray will hopefully be coming out sometime next year. They taped a few of their shows from their 2019 tour and I am definitely looking forward to that also.
The Beardless Bard I was lucky to see them at progpower last year in Atlanta. Fantastic show!

@@joel1a Jon Schaeffer is very limited as a guitarist, I'm sorry to say. Over all the years, he did not improve his skills, never heard a good solo from him from a technical perspective. It is all the voice of Hansi and the producer's skills.
@@ytb40 Well, he's not a lead guitarist and mostly leaves solos to other players, but on the other hand he is a very precise and fast rhythm guitarist. Plus he has a very memorable sound and is an amazing songwriter.

Very multi-layered song, I'm totally in love with Hansi's more soft and quiet singing, but I take pleasure in the whole concept of this song, and Jons Riffs are so awesome! And does he sing, too? Could do it more often, suits this track very well!

There are many Iced Earth songs where Jon takes lead vocals. They are usually very crushing. Stormrider being one of them.

Well, I wonder. Could this happen to be the best DEMONS & WIZARDS album yet?? This song (for me) is above what they've done before... the atmospheric bits are beyond words, and darn if that is not the right ending for a song! It just leaves everyone wanting more! I commend Hansi and Jon for bringing the FIRE back... well literally. :)))
Never heard of any of this until today, masterfully done video and this song is an absolute work of art. The music theory and dynamics that pour out from this piece is incredible. Love it!

I was really nervous if they could still recapture the magic from 15 years ago but this song did not disappoint. Anxiously anticipating the new album!
Hansi always does this to me. I listen to a new song and think: was that it? And kind of feel like I am missing something.Then something about the song just sticks in my mind. 20 listens later I am addicted. It is something about the way the songs are layered that they take a good few listens before I 'understand' them.

Sinceramente, esperava muito, mas MUITO mais, dessa dupla aí, ainda mais, por ter a certeza que eles são totalmente capazes de nos entregar resultados da mais alta qualidade (quanto mais se tem, mais cobrança há), assim como foi demonstrado no Demons & Wizards (1999). Apesar de não achar o resultado ruim (bem longe disso, diga-se de passagem) espero muito que o resto do álbum seja BEM superior.
Simplesmente Fantastico!!!! é um puta projeto dos caras e uma pena que ficou tanto tempo parado mas é animal.....

I bought this CD having no clue as to what it would sound like, I remembered a friend of mine liked Iced Earth years ago, so I gave it a go. I love it when I find an unexpected favorite, while not realizing I was looking for it. I have bought a lot of crappy releases by bands that I have expected so much more from over the last two years, DEMONS AND WIZARDS are the kick ass exception. I try to recomend this to friends who remain ignorant and uninitiated. Brilliant metal musicians.

This might be the best Demons & Wizards song ever! That main melodic guitar riff, the drums, the structure of the song and Hansi’s vocals are amazing. Especially his vocals around 7.11-7.28 are phenomenal! Can’t wait for the new album. I hope you’ll announce a tour soon.

It's about fucking time!!! I love this video...I don't have the slightest clue what's happening...but I love it...and I could probably say that about 80% of the metal videos I watch. I listen to a ton of Iced Earth and Blind Guardian but as soon as Hansi's vocals started the first thought to pop into my head was the very first time I heard "Heaven Denies" almost 20 years ago...jesus it's been 20 years?!? Something about the combo of Hansi's voice and Jon's riffs that carve their unique style into your mind. I feel like even if you wiped my memory of D&W I could listen to anyone of their songs and know it isn't Blind Guardian or Iced Earth

This song is absolutely terrific. I didn't realize it's something I needed after listening non-stop to orchestral music (you know which one) until I heard it. Good old metal, feels so fresh and full of life.
Btw, the intro reminds me of the music from Max Payne's dream levels. Every time I hear the first minute I think of playing Max Payne.
Just listened to Beyond the Red Mirror. Haven't heard the orchestral project. Not really into it. This looks awesome though.
I was quite disappointed at first when I heard it was going to be an orchestral thing, but when I finally listened to it, it turned out to be amazing. Orchestra isn't my thing either, but that album is worth listening to. Give it a try, at least to track called Dark Cloud's Rising. I think it's number 5 on the album. Don't let the word "orchestra" scare you away. And after you have listened to the album, listen to Diabolic again, you will like it even more.

This is really surprising, did not expect to ever hear anything new from these guys after so long. Then again, they are the love child of Blind Guardian and Iced Earth members and those guys have been hitting it hard recently in years with Red Mirror and Incorruptible.
