This IE horror show album always brings me up! Damien is one of their best songs EVER. And Horror Show Album is way underrated. Their best performance as a band, is there! I hope Jon can make his way again into music.
This is sheer brilliance. The atonal melody is the poem that David Warner (RIP) recites in the first movie combined with that brutal and dark riff always shivers my soul. Full of references from the 3 movies, the Sam Neill monologue in The Final Conflict with Matt Barlow emanating an evil tribute in every whisper and tone, a delight to any horror fan. A spine chilling music. Iced Earth at their very best. And Dracula, of course.
Well spot on! But to be precise, the poem is recited by Father Brennan (Patrick Troughton) TO Keith Jennings (David Warner). One of the last great Iced Earth epics. Other than this and Dracula, I'd also mention The Phantom Opera Ghost and Im-Ho-Tep. And their cover of Transylvania. Horror Show might be the last great Iced Earth album from start to finish (never been a fan of their Ripper-era, nor of Something Wicked 2, apart from some pieces - notably, The Clouding and When the Eagle Cries - and what I consider their all-times masterpiece: Gettysburg).
