After visiting 191 countries over the last 9 years, I can confidently say that AFGHANISTAN is the cheapest of them all! I have spent 3 weeks traveling around this beautiful Central Asian nation, and while there are so many things to admire about its culture and history -- the affordable prices make it THAT much more enjoyable.
In this video, I take you around the Western city called Herat (with my buddy Thomas from @YesTheory to purchase several random items so you guys can see how cheap it is!
In case you're wondering, the next cheapest countries (in my opinion) are Bangladesh, Pakistan, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, and Iran -- what do you think are the cheapest countries? Comment below!

I'll never trust mainstream media again, every country they deem "dangerous" is actually amazing! I remember how "dangerous" Mexico was, I hitchhiked all over the southern country and had the best time of my life, still my favorite place to travel. My next move, AFGHANISTAN!

Afghanistan is extremely dangerous. I don't know what you're on about but this is not a place you want to be hitchhiking around. Mexico is different. I think part of the problem is America's obsession with putting a positive spin on everything. There's optimism and then there's American optimism which is another term for delusion. I was watching Afghan women giving their babies away to Americans to give them a better life, I was watching people cling on to the helicopter that was flying away to safety because they were so desperate to either escape or at least die from the mostly peaceful fall. People are not happy here.

Also we barely have any problems in Germany with people from Afghanistan. They have another culture and all that but compared to other refugees they are very calm and nice.

AFGHANISTAN language is Dari/pashto not urdu/hindi they are in Central Asia persians/Turkic they don't understand urdu or hindi their pashto is also different then paksitan pashto

Hi Drew, I really enjoy your videos and think you're very courageous. The scariest thing I've ever done was taking the wrong bus which took me through a dodgy area in Guadalajara, Mexico. The only issue I have with this video is that you don't present the cheap prices in relationship to how much the average Afghani citizen can afford. I'm also not sure how I would feel if you called my country the cheapest in the world.
