Creating video games can be tough, but with an open source game engine like Godot it is really easy to get started. Godot is great for beginners due to its node-based system, high-level scripting language GDscript, and the fact that it’s completely 100% free. And honestly, it's perfect for people who are asking the question "How to learn how to program?", or "How to make video games".

I ADORE THE ART STYLE, I think the textures and the sticker aesthetic really add a lot to your Vector art!!!
Thanks so much! :D

2 replies? I’ll fix that
Your awesome vector style + THICC outlines and drop shadows is actually a treat
Thanks so much, dude!
this dude is the most chill but talented guy ever
Aww, thanks so much!

He is quite humble, I bet he sits down a lot.

I like the use of drop shadow but if it's not uniform (which it doesn't appear to be) it shouldn't rotate with the object. The shadow should always be casting below the object.
Yes he could've made a shader, but I don't think that having realistic shadows was the point of the video.

Ooh I was never this early. I really like your style and energy you put into these videos. Keep it up man!!
Thanks! Will do! :D
Amazing video! I recently made the switch to Godot and had time to make a game for the Autumn Jam using it, the engines great fun and I really enjoyed working with it. I really like the game you made! I'm loving the portfolio of little vector mini-games your making, It'd be so cool to see them all assembled into 1 big party game (may be difficult to do since their all in different engines but fun idea nether the less!)
I've been thinking about that! Like a WarioWare collection of all of them. That's a great idea. Also super happy to hear you enjoying Godot!
Another great video. Perfect balance between explanations, humor and story-telling. Keep it up!
Thanks so much! :D
Your artwork is adorable. Love your vids. Keep them coming!
Thank you so much 😀
Love the video! Thanks for continually posting great video after great video. (And for inspiring me to make games!)
Can't wait for Dewdrop Dynasty.❤
Awesome to see your rendition of the game. I really like the cute style of the art.
I think the logo is really cool! Also I like your style, would like to see some actual big game from you in that vector style
Challenge accepted!
I really like how u make ur vids so relaxing and fun while making games for us to play ^^ KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK CUS UR MY INSPOOOO
bout time you used your lots of experience! artstyle is so cool!
I love your vids. I’m a new game dev and you inspired me to start using Godot and I’ve tried like 10 engines and godot is the perfect one for me
so good videos, keep it up!
I love how you use sonic music for a lot of your videos (I also just like your videos in general)
dat vivi's theme music in the background omg love it
The Sticker look is really cool 😎
He's not dead! Hallelujah!
By the way could you do a video with the history of your game studio? I'm curious how a small indie studio functions and how yours came to be.
Your so wonderful keep up the good work my man
I recently discovered your channel. Very engaging content!
Thanks so much!
I LOVE you'r cozy games
Damnn really bice video! Your artstyle ia amazing . Also the unity and godot joke 💀
Thanks a ton!
Bice indeed :)

Oh my gosh it looks so good! Did you ever consider adding a string to the balloon?
XD I like the enemy placeholder!
The temporary enemy 😂
Hey nice Video! im just wondering how long everthing took you?
You should make bullets that hit the fighter jet drop coins that give you extra points.
4:27 collisions working as intended
Been putting off trying Godot because i have alot of things keeping me bust but i want to atleast try to. Seems good
Looks great! Love to see a Tower Defense game
1:36 fyi this isn’t lerping between points, it’s an exponential approach from a simple first order lowpass filter
I am gonna try making this in a day using my artstyle also. But why didn't you use the 8 directional movement code shown in the Godot Documentation?
Man I wish I could understand code properly, you make this look easy.
I love his thumbnails
EPIC VIDEO!!!!
How did you get the nice outlines? Is it in the texture or a shader??
Any tips on how you created the triangles? Did you create a sprite then add that as the sprite for particles?
I love your style
Thanks so much!
This is amazing!
ok now I wanna make my own version of this game
bro when is your Game Coming, I just Love and Want to play it
I was wondering what program you used for the awesome art! Is it free?
Best RUclips channel ever.
You made my day
Aww, thanks so much! :D
Hey Goodgis, Im trying to make a flying enemy and I was wondering how to make the tilting effect? Because it looks really nice and would fit well.
Love your style.
What programm can u recommend for vector art?
You can see here at the bottom of the Goodgis FAQ: goodgis.fun/about#faq

2:19 No, the player here is the unity logo and the enemy is the godot logo XD
the unity enemy stuff got me LMAO
wii needs this they dont even have to change the sounds or the font:)
You should make it so the each eye and mouth are individual parts then you can make it so that each run the balloon's eyes/mouth are mixed up. Could be funny having one sleepy eye, one dead eye and a sad mouth.
Thanks dude! I'm thinking about making my first game using Godot. And.. was that, Radical Highway I heard?? 😂
Heck yeah, one of my favorite sounds tracks.
pure talent as usual 😱😍😘
Thanks! :D
I've been trying to learn Godot!
acn you please tell me what font you are using (in mist of the times)
This video is a masterclass in game development, packed with practical tips and insights from a true expert. It's so inspiring to see how experienced developers can utilize Godot to create polished and engaging games. I'm already itching to start my next project, inspired by your work. Who's with me?

Awesome Tutorial, what is the value of max tilt?
I have no idea haha I don't remember.
broooo what is that art studio plssss tell me! i always wanted to know a good software for vector art!
the affinity designer gets you a like
Wow. Can’t believe I’m watching a new Goodgis vid less than a minute after it was dropped!
Also, first!
Also also, nice little game.
Nice! haha
Wat did your brother think of the game?
He loved it!
It's not bad!
What app do you use for your graphic designing?
I actually created a game called Balloons N’ Bullets, it was with Scratch, but, pretty cool video, Elf Man!
There you go, we're way ahead of me! :D
@@Goodgis :D
1. When u release the full game and still have ideas plsssssssss make a dlc BECAUSE THIS GAME LOOKS SO GOOD!
2. Ur making really good pace for making this game in my opinion like when u said at the start of the vid the last update u gave us was 4 months ago I was like "ONLY FOUR MONTHS AGO!" because I thought it was almost a year ago.
3. Beta testers.. as in not demo people... can I be one... plsssssssssssss (if you can make me one comment on this comment telling me you will and how you can do it).
4. The boomerang guy he is good but when I saw you showing us him well u were kind of just jumping then shooting... that was it, I love it dont get me wrong but maybe add a lil more something to it, not that I would now what to do cause I'm smooooooth brain. (sorry if this bit was harsh it wasn't supposed to be, it was just supposed to be feedback).
5. if u want to, make a hardcore mechanic because like u said u were gonna make some bosses easier but some hardcore gamers like me want a hard challenge ( not that ur game wont be a challenge although it would be certainly fun!) anyways continuing, maybe even add some more moves to the bosses in hardcore mode.
Thats it for me cant wait for the game!
P.S I loved it when you said "I eventually figured out a better system and now the crows are the final boss of the game.. ur welcome".
P.S.P.S this is a repost of a comment I made on the other vid because I only just saw it before this comment was made and so I wanted to make sure u got my feedback my posting on a later vid.
what the app you use for the art
What program U use for the graphics design?
what is the programing language that used to make a game in godot ??
and also is there big famous games made by godot ??
The art is so good man, noce work. The first balloon expression's is low-key creepy tho ngl 💀
Yeah....it haunts me.
Please remake Subspace Continuum
Hey man! Would you allow me to recreate your game and post it on google play as my first ever mobile game? Love your content, and I am very excited about your answer! I could maybe also send it to you on your discord server if ever you want to see where your game led me... I am not a very big programmer so I'm kinda just making this for fun. Thanks for your attention ❤
This is great!
But why come you didn't use:
direction = Input.get_vector("left", "right", "up", "down")
?
In next video could you maybe make a fighting game?
what program do you use for design?
Bro made a game?? lets 1000 one up that XD
Just kidding but that really made me laugh, I mean, that's how brotherhood is sometimes
Okay... had to stop for a little bit and catch my breath when you added the enemy. A++, you, and your brother, keep up the good work... XD
the game reminds me of the german song 99 Luftballons
I tried making vector art for my Godot game, but there was so many issues with resizing the exported images.
what art program r u using??
We all love baloon man

i recommend you try monogame too you almost made games with every engine

What program do you use for the vector art

this video is gonna blow up!🎉
Aww, thanks!
HI! I am a boardgame author but I follow your channel because your videos are a source of inspiration also for my type of passion. I recently created a small tabletop game that recreates the feeling of the game of 15 (you know, that little "chessboard" where you reposition the numbers in ascending order by sliding the various tiles) but in a minimal dungeon crawler style. I tried it out at a game creators convention and many told me it would be a perfect game or app. I just don't know where to start, or even who to ask if they want to develop it. do you have any advice for me?
That's a tough question. Your best bet is probably developing it yourself, as painful as that sounds. Most publishers are most interested in full release games or just shoot your game down because they don't like it. Also paying someone would be pretty expensive.
@@Goodgis I imagined that the two worlds, although they overlap in some points, are parallel. thanks for the advice, I will continue to watch your videos to understand how to approach video games creation!
What app are you using to do the vector art?
he is using affinity designer
