  • Hi all, this video is about the processes I went through that helped to undo some of the effects of going 27 years undiagnosed with ADHD. It has been almost 5 years since I was diagnosed and a lot has changed. The medication I take is called Atomoxetine. You can find out more about this on my channel.

Hi !!! I am extremely late to the AdHD diagnosis party as well but it's been refreshing to know that there are other people out there who do understand me and do get it. I honestly feel like I've been speaking a different language for years. No one ever understood me and I'm starting to kind of look through my life and make sense of SOOO many things.. I made excuses for years.. for being late, losing everything everyday, leaving the house and always coming back, never being able to fully finish anything, and never being able to shut up but hating myself for it. I have desperately always wanted to just go with the flow like so many other people can. I started out by your first video where you just got your diagnosis to this one. I start strattera tomorrow at 32 years old 😮 itb's just so nice to know that you have found peace and are finally participating in life and enjoying it!!!; You are so cute I'm so happy for you and I can't wait to join you on this new journey. Keep doing what you're doing and sharing your story, and never ever lose but spark .sending 💕 from the USA in New Jersey

Just watched your initial video from 5 years ago, several months after your diagnosis. Incredible to be able to jump to 5 years later and hear about your process. I'm beginning to explore this possibility for myself. Thank you for lighting the path for others.

Thank you for your videos. They helped me get diagnosed, and now I've been on strattera almost a year. I relate so very much to everything you've said about what it s like to struggle with adhd. You can't necessarily undo all the undiagnosed years but with self awareness, treatment, therapy, it really does get better- it does take time, but it's so worth it. So glad to hear you are doing so well 5 years post! ❤

I also enjoyed this video, but I didn't want to be among the first to comment. : ). It's interesting to see how the particulars may be different, but the underlying causes seem very similar if not the same neural mechanisms. I hope the same solutions can work for other people. I am worried about the side-effects of Straterra but it's worth a try from what you've described. Thank you for the moral support, sincerely...even if it's syply by sharing your own experience. Nice butterflies!

    Great vid!
Only last night I was taking to my girlfriend who has just arrived in London from the United States about the challanges of being neurodivergent especially how difficult it is dealing with the medical establishment. It was very interesting watching your perspective on it. I don't often see your videos due to the RUclips alogrithm I think so it was really nice to see you again! We might see you in London someday ;)

Has the Alien feeling also improved? A very helpful video. It's always amazing how similar ADHD people tick.

hello, enjoyed this video and some of your previous ones. only recently found the channel and have been watching a bit out of chronology. first off, happy to hear you're doing so well. i noticed in previous videos you mentioned that you were becoming wary of medication and how it had unwelcome side effects (for ex emotional blunting). i wonder what changed in your thinking from then to now (maybe there's a video for that?). i've experienced that on anti-depressants disliked it. recently i was looking at alternatives to stimulant medication which i've taken on and off for adhd, but i'm really wary of the fundamental shift i feel atomextine lead to (though that could be positive, especially if sleep improves). also, as you allude to, work on oneself, self compassion, self awareness etc def help, so perhaps i might feel differently now. open to any thoughts and thanks for your openness and honesty.

On the money front set up a direct debit for each bill type but also have a standing order or direct debit to automatically take from your current account to a savings account (and/or pensions and/or investments). The savings/ investment account(s) should just be left untouched except for dire emergencies. That means you build up a nest- egg and it restricts how much money you have left in your current account that you might spend without thinking.

Te pregunto, la atomoxetina te ayuda a manejar las emociones?, es algo que no puedo manejar, y me genera mucha inestabilidad emocional 😢

I just wish Straterra was as effective for me as it was for you. Was on 40mg for a month and now I’ve been on 80mg for 2 weeks and so far I’ve just had increased heart rate and increased appetite.
Doctor is going to add Intuniv on next.

@@johnmoore1495 yes I take both. Once I realized I had to be in the drivers seat everything started falling into place. Intuniv has been great too for my emotional regulation.

@@Boho_Gypsy oh I forgot that I put the Intuniv bit in my comment, that’s why I was confused when you said “both.”
I asked my doc to up me to the full 100mg atomoxetine last week so I’ve been on that for a couple days now. Really the only positive effect I’ve noticed from atomoxetine is that my mind is quieter. I’m not constantly talking to myself or getting crap stuck in my head. But otherwise it’s made me sweat way more, increased my appetite (which is highly abnormal,) and it seems to have made me more emotional is some aspects. It hasn’t done anything for me in terms of motivation or executive functioning.
I’m looking forward to the emotional stability so many people talk about with Intuniv. I wanted to get on it regardless because Intuniv + a stimulant is the most effective treatment regimen for ADHD statistically speaking.
