The most sadistic scene in this film. In an effort to try to tempt him into a perfect lie and make him see her perspective, the AI tortures Heinz by making him relive his deepest trauma of watching his daughter die. Twice! Anybody who went through that would break, but you have to admire Heinz' strength of will to ultimately reconcile with the reality of the situation and fight back.

@@mathematicallymadeI love it when art gets real and shows true grief. Toni Collette in Hereditary (although Aster seems to get that from his actors in all of his movies) and Robin Williams in Worlds Greatest Dad. The voice acting for Heintz hits that same kind of “too real” note.

Do you have a memory so bad you absolutely DO NOT want to see again? What about a fear so great you don't want to experience again? That's the point of the antagonist: it's exploiting their victims' deepest memories...

I love old school 80s and 90s anime it never goes out of style.
The animation is SO GOOD; I’m surprised it was made so long ago. A lot of love and hard work was put into this, and it shows.
