- The U.S. Marshals Service posted age-progressed images of what three inmates may look like today, decades after they escaped Alcatraz. Inmates Frank Morris, Clarence Anglin and his brother John, who escaped the prison after serving time for armed bank robberies, would be in their nineties if still at large. NBC’s Erin McLaughlin reports for TODAY.

I met one of the Nephew's of the Anglin brother's several year's ago at a book signing in Kansas.
If you've ever seen the Clint Eastwood movie, "Escape from Alcatraz," do you remember that scene when Frank Morris sat at the table in the 'chow hall', meeting up with the Anglin brothers again right after their arrival?
Remember when one of the brother's said to Morris, "We were climbing over the wall in Atlanta when we encountered a small problem?"
There was a THIRD man going over the wall with them in Atlanta when they were caught. That THIRD man was the father of the man I met at the book signing. He was the Anglin's OTHER BROTHER. He was shot and killed by police during the escape attempt. This was never mentioned in the movie.

Ok, so 3 bank robbers break out of prison and stay out of trouble for 60 years? Why waster tax payers money trying to track them now? It's a waste of time and resources and that could be used for something more pressing.

This is not about those three guys, it's a tactical message from the US Marshalls regarding their mission of never giving up on a fugitive. He just told you that...
So stupid they are in their 90s or dead, worry about the gang bangers coming across our southern border with drugs.
They may not have a choice. These men are either dead or very close to death. If they're never found, what are they gonna do?
I believe that they did make it. Whether they are still alive, I don't know. They are old. But the time of year that they escaped the currents of the bay would have pushed them to the shore of Alameda, so they did escape.

I heard on Alcatraz they had very strict rules and that there was this cellar called "the hole" to put prisoners in that didn't behave

I am sure that they will never find out if they made it or not. It's hard to say if any of them are still alive today. Stories of Alcatraz never get old. Thanks 👍.
ONE day AFTER they're escape, a worker aboard a passing freighter ship, while passing under the golden gate Bridge, said, he noticed what looked like a 'dummy' floating face-down in the water. It had dark hair and a printed number on its back. That 'number' was later confirmed to be that of Frank Morris.
6-month's after escape, police received a letter from an unknown person giving 'details' on the escape--mocking police.
It contained information that ONLY the escaped inmates could have known.
DID they escape?
YES! Did they SURVIVE the escape? Not ALL of them.
I believe Frank Morris DID die that night (in the bay), but the two Anglin brother's--ABSOLUTELY survived, making it to what police believe is South America.
The U.S. Marshals have re-opened the case because they TRULY BELIEVE the Anglin Brothers DID SURVIVE! There is evidence to SUPPORT THAT. Why else would they have RE-OPENED it?
For year's, they DID STOP looking for them, but there is NOW evidence to show that they ABSOLUTELY SURVIVED.

ALSO: (F.F.T.) When a person or person's being sought by either the F.B.I or U.S. Marshall's, will be exonerated and set FREE; meaning, they will NO LONGER BE SOUGHT OR EVEN WANTED ... upon. Reaching the age of 99.
They figure, if a person is captured at age 99 (or 100), by the time they go to court and through the trial phase, they would've ended up dying of OLD AGE anyways.

When they harp on something like this is when you need to ask yourself what they are hiding.
The DOJ has announced that when these escaped criminals are finally found, Alcatraz will be re-opened just for them to finish their sentences.
And if that's the case? They can escape Alcatraz a 2nd time!

I'm thinking the two brothers at least made it to Angel Island, just because there's evidence that at least one of them got that far. How long they lived after that, we still don't know.

2 of them are alive, living on a farm in Brazil, there is a picture of them and finding the place where it was taking is not that difficult.

My grandma was betty Anglin my uncle saw them when they broke out in empire ca he was the watch out for them they day they showed up to pick up clothes money and a ride they are dead now but they used to send my family post cards
My grandma told me stories she would never lie to anyone of her grandchildren they made it my uncle saw them with his own eyes he's still alive he was just a 9 year old kid but he saw them too in empire ca befor they left the states

THIS WAS ONLY A RUMOR! COMPLETELY UNFOUNDED. I saw this documentary. It was only ONE of HUNDREDS of rumor's.
I’m pretty sure one of them died but the brothers still may be alive. They were in their mid to lad 30s at the time of the escape. That was exactly 65 years ago this month. So If they’re alive they’re in their late 90s right now
@Ishan Joshi oh wow I didn’t know that. I thought Frank Morris died because of the rumors of a body found under the Golden Gate Bridge after the escape but wasn’t reported until later so it was never found

If they made it alive, I think we can let it go now. These men clearly haven't been a danger to society since, so whatever the outcome, I think we should move on. If any àre still alive (in their 90s), what is the purpose of capturing them anyway? No. This is about curiosity. The FBI likely just want to know where they ended up (if not below the Golden Gate bridge).
