A lot of refugees don't hold the nationality of the countries they reside in, so they can't compete on their behalf. This is about people who were driven to leave their home countries, through force, fear, or unbearable circumstances. This sends a message of hope to those who lost their homes that there's a still a place for them and they still have value.
@@germanCrowbar they are not illegal people But sadly displaced because of the atrocities in this world And most countries do not have any welfare for people holding refugee status… In Hong Kong, they cannot work and some are stuck in that limbo (with families) for 10+ years. That means even their children will go through school and graduate but cannot work
