Are the hues that naturally appear as a result of colours from the palette mixing on the canvas allowed to stay? or should I avoid mixing and just keep to the pure hues? Like if I had a diad scheme with blue and pink, those colours mixed would make purple which goes against the scheme, is that ok?
This bunch of schemes actually helped me way more than just knowing the basic ones! It always felt like "these works for desing, but almost all pieces have way more stuff so Idk... I might just be stupid"
7:05 this is so helpful! Sometimes when i imagine a character it's hard to picture what colors to use apart from the main one, so this tip is gold! Thanks :)
Thanks for this Marc. I'm gonna watch your video on values next since that's apparently more important than colour theory. I love your channel and your videos so much. You're such a great teacher, and your oddness just makes your videos all the more special lol
YESSSSS I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS CLASS!!! The moment I saw this I have been checking my notifications to make sure I get to it quick!! Oh class is starting, paid the fees teach letsgetitttt!!!
Yep, about color you really need to put you mind into it and learn. And funny enough I'm doing a plate drawing right now! My goal is draw 3 character in one theme with 3 diffierent plate, and I have to admit it, It's sutpidly hard, and even harder than I thought, I really need limit break to finish it. Thanks always!
This is so good Marc! Thank you! Question, how do you go about choosing color harmony when you have several things to look at in your piece? I am working on one with a VW Van (focal point) that’s tan, the Disneyland sign and castle, Old Faithful and any Rushmore in the background. And if anybody else that knows wants to answer, my ears and eyes are open!
hey! not marc (obviously lol) but at around 09:12 he says that the rectangular tetrad is good for multiple competing visual elements, so that migh be the one
The way you explain colour harmonies is very clear and concise, thanks Marc! I think I ought to try using colour harmonies more, as I generally base my colours off palettes from images I like.
I had a brief emotional moment realizing that Marc could make so money charging people for the knowledge he teaches on his RUclips, but instead goes out of his way to make it accessible for people for free
Color harmonies were always meant to work with pigment colors so we gotta use it to come up with a palette, and then just find those colors on whatever color wheel you’re using.
Please tell me your keyboard shortcut settings. Just thinking about how to arrange it all in the end turns out to be not convenient and takes a lot of time. Thanks)
You got substance and I understand that to survive in that competitive market you have to mimic the outstanding ones but gosh how I hate all the pyrotechnics and the way you guys choose to talk as if we're a bunch of preschoolers. But anyway, I'm just counterbalancing the opinions. I admire your art skills. Greetings from Brazil.
"it's not just about the colors you choose, it's how you use them" Really golden advice here. It's real easy to get bogged down in what you pick that you just forget the idea of diving in and using the colors. As someone with some mild choice paralysis from time to time, it's real comforting to hear this. Thanks Marc!
there’s no exaggeration here: your videos are LITERALLY a gold mine. i’ve struggled to find good art tutorials out there but when I stumbled upon your channel months ago, I knew I found the right one for me. Sadly, i cant join the premium art class, but im paying my fees for every video I watch. that’s how grateful i am for this channel.
"It'll only be available until the end of the month" or until there's another 1000 students, yeah? Its been a really great course so far. I got it in early march.
As helpful as ever. I've always wanted to blend and compliment colors but tends to forget some of the good ones in the last stretch of the drawing when coloring is the last thing to do. I appreciate it. Great class as always.
Ooooh. I’m not normally troubled by colors but this is useful regardless. Time to get out the paints and play while I watch. Edit: this was entertaining. I’ll use this for painting color ideas now
I don’t know why but color theory is always confusing. I understand what I need to do but I never get the right amount of harmony. Bright and dull color balance is frustrating and I don’t know how to do it right.
This is amazing! Thank you so much for the material and also the brushes! BTW, is there any way to get sheets with the different kind of color schemes? and at what price?
the color wheel is wrong, since the examples are all digital art, theres no reason for three separate shades of orange, azure (cyan-blue) and aqua (cyan-green) are completely absent in favor of red orange and yellow orange. The magenta is also very dark, like 50%/100% dark, a purplish blue is also included, but it's where blue should just be already. It's probably there because both variants are paired against their opposites on the wheel. The proper color wheel is Red, Orange, Yellow, Lime, Green, Azure, Cyan, Aqua, Blue, Purple, Magenta, Rose. Yellow is the complementary color of Blue, but generally using purple is better because direct complementaries suck.
This is incredibly solid. I like the way you complimented each harmony description with showcases from your art, it really sells the theory. I'll be saving this one for reference. Thank you so much.
Your colors better be harmonious from now on or we're gonna have to get your parents involved. Also, free brushes
What were you doing in Ethan's studio '-'

mono-red with a turkiese pantsu ? ;P
Nice vid bro =)
@@ryant9366 think of it as an overall effect, you can mix in any color in small quantities as long as it doesn't disturb the overall harmony
This bunch of schemes actually helped me way more than just knowing the basic ones! It always felt like "these works for desing, but almost all pieces have way more stuff so Idk... I might just be stupid"
"The more colors you use, the more important the hierarchy becomes." is probably the single most important thing anyone should take from this video.
7:05 this is so helpful! Sometimes when i imagine a character it's hard to picture what colors to use apart from the main one, so this tip is gold! Thanks :)

this popped up as soon as I was thinking of learning the color theory
Teacher, you're the best. thanku!
Thank you for the good videos💕💕💕
Very helpful, I never knew how to use the ones with more than 3 colors but your examples were very good
The way you explain colour harmonies is very clear and concise, thanks Marc! I think I ought to try using colour harmonies more, as I generally base my colours off palettes from images I like.
One of these days Marc will actually tell us how long he's been a professional artist and we're not going to even know or believe him
*Different yet familiar office*
Awesome tutorial! Thanks a lot for all the free content you provide! :))
Tried some of the color combinations and principles out today! Sooo cool!

"There's nothing worth looking at there"
I think many people would disagree , since many tend to pay to see pictures of those
I finally got your course its awesome.
Welcome to ART School!! Thanks so much! ❤️
Thank you very much ^^
I had a brief emotional moment realizing that Marc could make so money charging people for the knowledge he teaches on his RUclips, but instead goes out of his way to make it accessible for people for free

Oh so THAT's what Palpatine was talking about when he was banging on. A force Diad. Sure. I get it now. Thanks J.J!
Good video as always, thank you
brain imploded, great class as always!
Great stuff! Do you usually use the traditional colour wheel shown here, rather than the RGB-CMY wheel Photoshop uses?
Color harmonies were always meant to work with pigment colors so we gotta use it to come up with a palette, and then just find those colors on whatever color wheel you’re using.
Too late, I just saw them on the video
OMG ETHAN BECKER REF
Please tell me your keyboard shortcut settings. Just thinking about how to arrange it all in the end turns out to be not convenient and takes a lot of time. Thanks)
I can't seem to get your brushes to install in my clip studio paint. Is there a way for you to put it in their store?

I get distracted on how your eyebrows move with everything you say😅

You posted this at the PERFECT time! I've been thinking about trying some cool and new colour combos and this was helpful!!! ❤️
Am I trippin or did Marc forget to tell us to pay our class fee? I still paid, it’s a habit at this point to like Marc’s video b4 it even starts
If you watched Jojo, there is no color scheme you haven't seen before.
"It'll only be available until the end of the month" or until there's another 1000 students, yeah?
Its been a really great course so far. I got it in early march.
This Marc fella is pretty good! He could work for Blizzard! 😬
Marc, never stop with the explosions 😂
As helpful as ever. I've always wanted to blend and compliment colors but tends to forget some of the good ones in the last stretch of the drawing when coloring is the last thing to do. I appreciate it. Great class as always.

Isnt that Ethan Becker’s studio in the background at the beginning? 😂
Damn boys, polychromatic palette is like "Hello, im madness, nice to meet u"
Marc looks like he's drunk while doing these videos. I love it!
Me who noticed the blue first
One thing i love about watching Marc is that dude is helping us while also being goofy 😂 it kills me
I don’t know why but color theory is always confusing. I understand what I need to do but I never get the right amount of harmony. Bright and dull color balance is frustrating and I don’t know how to do it right.
Just when I needed it! 🤓
Sweet! I reaaaaally like your free content!
Gotta trust someone who’s been doing art for 1 eternity
The more I know about art the more dump I feel xD
This is amazing! Thank you so much for the material and also the brushes! BTW, is there any way to get sheets with the different kind of color schemes? and at what price?
So got term 1 of art school. I have no art ability. Let's see what we can do 👈😎👈
So many possibilities to work with colors with these combinations
Sir you have now got me fascinated with color theory. It is like psychology.
I'm hightly doubtful you're talking like that irl
YIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESS
it's funny how my brain got used to these random explosions during your videos XD
I’ve seen your classes on lighting and coloring characters. I tried to set hard light on and it just ends up erasing my lines. What am I doing wrong?
Just plug the rtx to ur brain
That's how u become very good at colors and shading
Dont mind me im slicing spheres on my drawing
Procreate has the color wheel settings that help with color theory too. Very helpful
Does anyone know the name of the song Mark always puts in the background while explaining and drawing? it sounds so nice
I don’t know the name… but I think it’s a certain Minecraft background Music
Ohh coo! I suck at designing characters, but this should be helpful.
*cool* can’t type
Absolutely awesome as always! Can't wait to start applying these more to my own work. :)
I'm saving this video to watch again in the future. All color palettes I will ever need right here 😍

Intresting how similar in strutcture and name this video is to Winged Canvas " 10 Colour Schemes You've (probably) Never Heard Of! "
Only _ONE_ Eternity Marc? ROOKIE NUMBERS!
dint pay the class fee
This is incredibly solid. I like the way you complimented each harmony description with showcases from your art, it really sells the theory. I'll be saving this one for reference. Thank you so much.
Can't be more perfect timing, I was working in my colors of my current illustration. Love ya!
Arigado ozaimasu, Explodo sensei 🙏
