    This is really helpful. I lived with a TCM practioner for a few years and I learned a LOT, but they were not great at explaining the complex structures in simple ways like this. This brief overview just put together years of learning smaller details - thank you.

    Loving the series Alex. Your Yin Yang video resonated with me on how they are not opposites or in conflict, but are cooperative. What great insight!
    And yes, I'd be interested in hearing more about The Yellow River Diagram and The Nine Halls Diagram. Thanks!

      Thanks Jonathan! Not sure if you have heard of "The Book of Changes" (Or I Ching Or Yi Jing depending on the translation).
      Not only is YinYang, Five Elements, The Book of Changes ALL derived from the two diagrams, the diagrams also has a lot of hidden messages about astronomy, human body, nature etc.

    I think those elements or how one better noted - energies - helps in tuning all the chakras accordingly... i think some chakras need more wood while others more fire etc, since their functions arent the same...

    Thank you Dr Alex for the very clear and easily understandable explanation. But how can we associate a particular piece of music to the 5 elements. Also is there any book you can recommend for us to read and better understand the 5 elements theory.

    Is Air one of the elements!?

    • @tommyprotrampx
      @tommyprotrampx 9 месяцев назад

      "That’s an excellent question; one I’ve pondered for a long time. The structure of Western Elemental forces is based on the idea of the Elements as static, more or less. Fire is hot and dry, for example. Although it goes through several iterations, there being a watery part of fire, fiery part of fire, airy part of fire and earthy part of fire, the essential aspect of fire is that it’s a force unto itself and not really alterable, per se.
      Water is cold and wet. Air is warm and moist. Earth is cold and dry. Although there are interactions of the Elements and their results, they still are more or less blind forces of Nature. There is air, but it’s a result of the combination of fire and water, just as earth is the condensation of those forces as they interact.
      The Chinese thought is quite different in that we see motive forces of Nature in the cycles of the seasons. They not only interact, but there is mutual contribution, destruction, and natural cycles that become everything we know. They have Metal, Water, Wood, Fire and Earth. To find the airy part, we look to the trigrams of the I Ching. Chen and Sun, the elements of Wood, both have a sense of movement to them. Sun is Air, as the penetrating, able to go into any nook or cranny. Chen is movement in general. Chen is often seen as thunder, vibrations that emitted from the ground as the Earth came back to life in the spring. Along with it came the greenery of the earth. Sun is the growth factor personified and finds its way into everything that exists. When blocked, the results can be dire.
      Air is present, but through the idea of the wood Elemental force. Trees react to the wind, as does most plant life. Trees sway and plants pollenate by its power. Wind and movement are pretty synonymous. So, while it’s correct to say that there’s no air in Chinese mysticism, it’s also not as cut and dried as it seems.
      I hope this helps some." Daoist, Mo Abdelbaki.

      @vijaybhaskar1192 that's not what your comment was about... also have you not seen final destination? Wood will crush you. If all you care about is destruction...

    • @vijaybhaskar1192
      @vijaybhaskar1192 7 месяцев назад

      @@sethbieber5127 Metal and Wood are products of earth. Humans refine earth to metals, nature refines earth to wood.
      Fire kills people on its own, water drowns people on its own. How can wood or metal kill people on its own?
      If Human have not discovered metal from earth then metal element will not exist.
