i got interested in a q/h after becoming disabled-went with h/f for price-figured i'd have to do some mods-i can cut-drill-weld-what i find fascinating is all the 5 star reviews of the h/f q/h that this thing saved their life and works perfectly-then comes "the extended hook sold on amazon"-folks-this guy is right-make your implement fit the hitch-kinda feel bad for all the yups that thought any q/h was going to be the answer to all their 3-point problems-but only a little😁

Great video! Been contemplating a quick hitch but the highlight for me was the apron! I said duh! Why haven’t I thought of that!

That wad good info. I bought the HF quick hitch welded a plate to the back of the top hook to extend it, machined a 1/2 of a cat I shim and tack welded to bottom of the quick hitch so always cat 1 and made my own trailer quick hitch from an extra truck hitch. After all that it is now great.

Glad you liked it! Here's the irony... my next video is about my new King Kutter tiller that just came in. The HF won't work with it so... I'm switching to the Pat's quick hitch system. Should be a good one. Stay "tuned".

Purchased a used Kubota tractor about a month ago, and ordered a SpeeCo Cat 1 quick hitch. I only have one 3-point attachment, a Kubota ballast box, but it doesn't fit. Bottom pins are too narrow, and the top pin is too low. I figured on a 4 year old tractor, things would be fairly standardized by now, guess that's not the case. Unless there's a easy fix, I'll probably wait till spring, and fabricate my own mounts for the box. You have a nice setup there 👍

I am still bewildered by why there isn't an absolute standard for 3 point implements. Guess that's just part of tractoring 😁👍

Lots of good information here, well done.
Am wondering if there is a " one size fits all"
    Way to achieve this system.
Without all the modifications and alterations
I have neither the tools or ingenuity that you do.

The quick hitch is great if its actually built to somewhat of a quick hitch standard, but many of the el-cheapo versions like you have found are not...I've ran across "quick hitch" compatible implements/attachments that are not quick hitch compatible....dealer told me the 4' box blade I got was quick hitch compatible...it is now, but wasn't when it was delivered LOL...NEVER modify the quick hitch, typically there's bolts, and pins in an implement/attachment that can be moved, and/or new holes drilled to move things to force that implement/attachment to work with a quick hitch, and like you, its more sensible to modify the implement/attachment...as soon as you start screwing with that quick hitch, its no longer going to work with implement/attachment z, but now it works with implement/attachment a for example...then you gotta go screw with that quick hitch every time you swap implements/attachments....defeating the purpose of a "quick hitch"....
The only issue with an implement with a PTO is, you still have to get off the tractor to attach the PTO shaft, typically pretty simple/easy, except when you are working in the limited space constraints of a sub-compact tractor LOL. The limited amount of space makes connecting and disconnecting the PTO shaft a bit of a challenge sometimes, but I'd still rather have the quick hitch as only my roto-tiller requires messing with a PTO shaft, everything else I have right now is ground engaging...i.e. box blade, rear blade, etc. The fun thing you'll find with the roto-tiller is if you aren't careful it'll want to tip backwards on you while trying to hook it up, unhook it, etc. I have mine chained down to a pallet because I store it on a shelf system I made out of a scaffold...so the chains secure it for moving and storage, as well as keep it in proper position to easily hookup to with the quick hitch...then I just have to get off the tractor and hookup the PTO and get to work, its not so bad now that I've figured out a few little tricks with the quick hitch to get it to hookup and unhook from an implement/attachment on the first try, if you aren't exactly level when you unhook, when you hook up to that equipment again later on, you'll find you gotta get things lined up again, which sometimes isn't as easy as one would think. With my box blade if it isn't sitting level I've found that if I back up get the quick hitch lined up, then pull forward, and backup with a bit of speed, as I hit the box blade I'm already raising the 3 point, doing this jars the box blade enough that it drops right into the quick hitch and I simply drive away....tiller, and other implements and attachments I've found work the same, a bit of a bump while raising the 3 point gets stuff lined up very easily.
My quick hitch is a Land-Pride QH-05 made for the BX, but just because its the expensive hitch doesn't mean it fits everything either as I mentioned early my box blade had to be modified to fit, works great now, but I initially was like why did I waste money for a quick hitch when it don't work on that most commonly used attachment...easy grinder modifications to relocate a pin, and works perfectly now.
