    I started out with a quick hitch and then ended up with a couple implements that weren't QH compatible. Then I had to install and remonve the quick hitch when swapping certain implements. That defeats it's purpose. I went to Pat's Quick Attach and that has worked great for me. .

    Pat's quick hitch has served me very well, many different implents not all quick hitch compatable, system works on all.

    I have a land pride QH05 that i got with my RTA1250 tiller. The welds in the lower hooks made the pins not sit down all the way and the lock levers wouldnt slide over the pins. Had to do a decent amount of filing the bottom of the levers to get it to go. Even when you get the matched setups theres always something you gotta do.

    I have a Woods quick hitch. No mods needed, just wish I bought a bunch of bushings when they were $30 a set.

    I've got an I-match that came with the tractor. I like it but if I were to be buying one today I would probably go with the speeco just because of not needing to do the whole bushing thing. The only modification I made to the actual QH was to take the bolts out of the top hook and replace them with pins to allow for much quicker adjustment of the hook. I did have to do some fabricating and moving the bolts on a couple of old attachments.

    • @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead
      @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead  8 месяцев назад

      Yeah that sounds like a good adjustment. For me, that modification I made set mine to fit the implements I have at the moment. I may have to switch to pins if I get other implements with different measurements. Thanks for the tip. 👊

    Good video... I have a Kubota BX2380 with the Land Pride quick hitch that came with the tractor. My quick hitch has NO adjustment and fits Land Pride quick hitch equipment. So I have to modify my implements if they don't fit. Such as on my Bearcat chipper/shredder, Currently have a temporary fix where I have to pin the upper arm after I hook the lower pins. I will likely fabricate the upper pin about 3 inches lower to fit my quick hitch. Like the chipper and the used price so I will put the work in to make it work.... just like you do. Thanks for the video, i like your Kubota stuff and most of your other videos too.

    My quick hitch is a true cat one made by land pride. I wish the top hook was adjustable but it’s not. Any equipment that say quick hitch compatible I don’t have any problem. I have bought some stuff from Titan that I had to modify to work with my quick hitch. They are great. In a nutshell.. I LOVE MY QUICK HITCH !!!!

    I think we’re going to go with the Speeco-e largely because the difference in price from a few of the others amounts to the cost of two to three sets of bushings. Ordering tomorrow but looks like the Woodland Mills will arrive first and need to sit because I’m not chopping that pto drive and then learn I need to replace it.

    • @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead

    I ordered the "Red Rock" Generic brand Cat 1 quick hitch from Princess Auto (Canadian Harbor Freight.) I didn't have to make any modifications to the hitch at all for my BX2380, it worked perfectly, however, for the Box Blade I had to use bushing to avoid the slop (just like you it has the large hooks) as well as for implements like your bush hog I had to use the shoulder bushings like you had. I think that using bushings to make implements compatible with a quick hitch is pretty standard and not an issue at all though. Having to modify the hitch like you did is a problem though and I am happy I didn't have to do that. I should note though that while you cut shoulder bushings to go in the gap on your box blade, I was able to order bushings the correct size to just go in that gap with the pin going through them. I used the shoulder bushings that came with the quick hitch on my draw bar.

      Oh, also in regards to the two mounting points on your Box Blade, I have the Land Pride box blade, and it actually came with both the bottom pin that you have, and the much thicker pin designed for a quick hitch in the top pin, and my hook on the quick hitch latched perfectly into that top pin, so I do suspect that is what it is for. I do completely agree though with your plan of modifying the cheap chinesium attachment rather than your expensive ones!@@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead

      I looked all over the internet and could t find anyone using a QH with that top pin hole, but I’m sure it would work fine. The fact that there is no standard means we all have to figure out what works best for what we own. 🤷🏼‍♂️. I appreciate the follow up. 👊

      For sure! Thanks so much for the videos. Your videos are partially responsible for me choosing to buy the BX, and I get tons of great value out of all of them. I love your attitude and outlook on life and how genuine and honest you are. I hope when my boys are older I can do a project with them like you did with your cabin build. Your videos are both educational and entertaining. You sometimes mention all the haters but I hope you know how many people love your videos and you can ignore the comments from people who just want to be nasty for no good reason.@@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead

    I bought the SpeeCo e-hitch and I was real tickled that I wouldn't have to buy a set of bushings for every implement, as the implement hooks are the size of a Cat-1 implement, not the larger Cat-2 lift pin. Imagine my disappointment when the Cat-2 ball ends on my tractor won't go in the two lower clevis points of the QH. Not only is the hole in the Cat-2 larger, but the ball is also wider. I haven't solved my problem yet, but the most promising way I've heard yet is to put longer pins through, and place my Cat-2 ball all the way on the outside of the QH.

    I have the Speeco QH, no bushings needed, no modifications needed to use it out of the gate for my LP Rotary cutter, box blade, and woodland mills chipper. I did get an attachment with a 2-inch receiver that is quick hitch compatible for towing stuff around or using my trash can grabber for running trash out to the street.

    Land Pride QH15...other than the bushings, no mods to the Quick Hitch or any of my implements, other than my Woods Brushbull 60, which includes the reconfiguration needed in the owners manual. (It's in my BB60 video.) Also, FYI...not all of the Speeco quick hitches eliminate the need for bushings....only the Speeco E-Hitch.

    Good morning Lucas. I have a Harbor Freight Quick Hitch for my John Deere 2305. My box blade and landscape rake were not quick hitch compatible but the Rural King 4' tiller was. I had to add the bushings to all three implements. Then I adjusted the top hook on the quick hitch to match the tiller. I had to use extended 7/8" hitch pins to the box blade. At that point I fabricated brackets to the top of the rake and box blade to match the height of the tiller and welded those on. That way everything is the exact same height and I can just back up to each implement with no hassle. Sometimes I might need to move the top link in or out a little depending where and how the implement is sitting. Anyway, that's how I did it. God bless and have a wonderful day. 👍👍🙂

    I’ve got a Harbor Freight quick hitch on my BX. The top hook is a pain! It is too straight and too thick. The straight angle on the lip of the hook makes it almost impossible to pick an implement up without getting off the tractor and adjusting something or bruting the implements onto the hitch. Maybe a good angle grinder and a little time would fix my problem! Love the channel and content! Keep up the great work!

    Really really good video Lucas! You covered pretty much what was needed to know. This will help quite a few of your viewers for sure. I am so glad there are people like you that do these videos. You get right to the point, and very clear talking points. I bought my QH05 quik-hitch right from Kubota. No issues with any of my attachments fitting at all. Even my 6ft countyline rear blade fits right on my BX23s perfectly fine. One nice thing about the quik hitches, you can swing your rear blade completely around without having to remove it. The blade clears all the way around. Before i had a quik hitch, you couldn`t turn the rear blade all the way around. And, I saw your earlier video where you put your 3pt arms on and continued using my advice with flipping that plate upside down between the arms where it mounts on the tractor. I bet you`ve had zero issues since do that, and nothing binds up hard anymore. Keep those videos coming, and don`t bother with fakebook debbie downers. You do what you do, because you are doing just fine. You`re learning as you go. We ALL had to start from somewhere.

    I have the Deere Imatch because it was given to me with the tractor. I had to get the extended top hook (boltonhooks) because some attachments hit the top rail of the imatch. I've bought 5 bushing sets to use it. That's about the cost of the speeco hitch. I wish I had gotten speeco from the start.

    Good vid as always Lucas. I have a Speeco QH and will be using a rotary brush hog myself next spring. I’ve seen a couple references to using a link on the top pin instead of the QH hook. The link will allow the rear of the mower deck to float especially on uneven ground. Of course you need other pull in the top adjustment a few inches. There are a couple other vids about it on YT worth checking out.

      Overrated, I bought into the hype.
      May just be my circumstances, thick grass heavy pastures, and hammer flails, but it’s slow, bogs down terrible, and leave tons of straggling grass behind. My 20 year old rotary cutter on my 40 year old 16 hp Iseki does better.
      I do like the compactness, would be nice on your trails.

    I've got the same quick hitch - picked up from Agri Supply here in NC, but the same thing really. For each implement - box blade, WG24 grinder, trailering/drag triangle, landscape rake - have to adjust top hook height by either sliding the hook up or down (even welded up an extender to gain more height), or use one of those adapters that looks like a tuning fork. Trimmed the hook to take down some of that sharp pointy part so it'd fit the box blade. None of the implements measure the same so far as the top goes, so adjusting just comes with the territory. Maybe if one were to buy a LP quick hitch, and only LP attachments they wouldn't need to do that? But even on that, I'm skeptical. Just comes with the territory.

    • @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead
      @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead  8 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, ultimately I got my implements set up the same so I didn’t want to go changing them. I decided this was the best approach for what I have. It works.

      I’ve owned a quick hitch for over 3 years but, mine is made by Land Pride and is a true cat 1. It wasn’t cheap but, I don’t have a buy bushings. It’s nice to switch equipment and never get off the tractor ( switching from box blade to land grader)!! I have a BX and it’s perfect for me. Yes I’ve had to modify some equipment, no big deal.
