- Slow afternoon/evening from awhile ago but just the right bit of action to make it a memorable session. Albies and Striped Bass were around but not much of them... Id say I was lucky to catch what I did.

I accidentally caught 2 gulls in 2018 and was able to set both free without any issue. Also have hooked a cormorant in the past and my dad lost a popper to an Osprey this year. Nice video as usual.

How many lbs is the leader for albie? What lure? How fast do you have to crank? Never caught one but love watching your video catching Alvie’s. Can you do?
I use 20lb fluorocarbon pick your brand 20g Amazon vertical jigs or joe baggs epoxy on 15lb braid and just reel as fast as you physically can
traditional northeast albie stuff consists of 15-30lb leader (I tend to use 30), small metal and epoxy jigs around 1oz with a fast retrieve. Less traditional methods also work, anything from swimming plugs, to zoom flukes on jigheads, to topwater poppers and slow twitching soft plastics

the best deal around is Seaguar Orange 100 yds, even though i prefer mono to fluro
forgot about that stuff. You are correct on that.
@@ChrisMcIntee yeah I got 100yds of 25lb of it for $16. Didn't catch anything on my first try with it, so went back to my berkley big game the next go and caught a colorado snapper so decided just to continue on with the mono as before.
