    I have three different colours of the this model Orient. I can’t see anything wrong or cheaply made. They work just fine for my needs. I gain approximately ten seconds a day. I have never had anyone say I was ten seconds to early for an appointment.
    The water resistance is plenty. The deepest I have ever been is 80 feet. I don’t know anyone who has been deeper except for cave divers. I don’t think the risk is worth it,but if I did the two hundred meter rating would still be OK. Other watches have deeper water resistant qualities but so what. It is like two neighbours in their pools waste deep in petrol. One neighbour
    says to the other, “ I have a full pack of matches.” The other responds with, “I only have a half a pack of matches.” It only takes one match to have a bad day. Same thing for WR resistant above 200 meters.

      Hey so you got the gray Kamasu II? I was looking at that one. The othewr colors are also sweet but a little flashy and I'm going for a daily, slightly more unassuming watch. When I saw a video on the gray Kamasu II, it still looked a little showy. What do you think. Also, how does the lume look with those sepia hands and hour markers?

    Now that the Mako III is out I feel like we should be calling this the Ray III (Ray I had double crowns, Ray II had one crown and this is the Ray III). The Ray III has round indices, the Kamasu has rectangular indices and the Mako III has Arabic markers. Simpler and less confusing. All 3 variants use the same case and bezel now with the dials being the differentiator.

    • @Avaddon911

    Overall it's a nice watch with good specs for the $, but those end links don't fit well enough. I also can't help comparing it with the Zelos Swordfish 40mm that I received a few days ago, which has a superior bracelet with an Omega-style "easy adjust" clasp. The trouble with Zelos is that they do limited production for all their watches (and they generally sell out within minutes or hours), but it still shows what can be done at $300. I wonder if the case might actually be compatible with bracelets from another watch such as SKX007. I really do like the watch head ; it's just the bracelet that turns me off. Nice job on the video! 🍻

    • @EricsEverydayWatches
      @EricsEverydayWatches  Год назад +2

      Hey Vonkruel. Thanks for watching. I haven’t looked into the Zelo watches yet. I’ll have to put them on my list. Looks like the range from $300 to $400ish. Most watches , orient included, seem to cut a few corners on the bracelet to keep cost down. For the entry level collector it’s a fair trade off and generally a good way to get started collecting affordable watches. Nothing against micro brands. They definitely have come into their own lately.

    Hi Eric. I really enjoyed your review of the Kamasu 2. I recently bought my son the Kamasu and just ordered this watch. Is there any major difference between the Kamasu and the Kamasu 2 (exceot for the dial and bezel)? Does the Kamasu 2 have an aluminum or ceramic bezel?

    • @EricsEverydayWatches
      @EricsEverydayWatches  5 месяцев назад +2

      Hello nkoury1. Thanks for watching. I never had the original in for review but from what I understand the big difference is the dial and shape of the indices. Otherwise the dimensions and specs are the same as on the original. The bezel has an aluminum insert. Hope you and your son enjoy your watches. 👍

    Is the bracelet not fitting the watch properly? At 1:54 there's a noticeable space. Even in pictures of kamasu, the bracelet doesn't fit well. My citizen promaster diver BN0165-55L and citizen orca doesn't have spaces like that. I obsess with things such as that. I don't mind indices not hitting perfectly, but this is a huge letdown.

    • @EricsEverydayWatches

      Hello troll2637. Do you mean the bracelet not sitting completely flush with the top of the lugs? I have noticed some variance between bracelets in affordable watches. And between orient watches in particular. Personally I tend to go for NATO or leather straps and avoid this issue all together.

    Well, it's not for me. I would get it if it was at least made of titanium and/or a bit smaller than the first Kamasu I already got (RA-AA0001B), but other than that, I just like the dial *and* the bezel of the first one better: no cut corners, more legible, no attempts to look like other brands or models, fully dotted bezel to measure elapsed time over 15 minutes. The first Kamasu is all about efficiency, while this one is more about Rolex-like looks IMO.
    That being said, you can't go wrong with F6922 either way. It is humanly possible to regulate it to virtually no daily deviation (even at home, with the help of a software timegrapher, if you leave about +5spd in the dial-down position), making it one of the few automatic movements that I, as a more of a quartz-watch-with-radio-sync person, really appreciate in terms of actual timekeeping.

      All the names are unofficial titles given by the distributors to help sales. The actual watch manufacturers at orient have nothing to do with naming them and put a disclaimer that they don’t endorse the names. That being said this one is def a Kamasu 2 rather than a Mako or Ray. Cause the exact case, movement and handset are all from the Kamasu line and the timing of their releases also makes it clear. Only differences are the indices and finishings on the side of the case and bracelet
