This is one of the hardest songs in Xtina's career, not even she performed this song with the same studio vocals, but it's the only one that can get so much emotion singing her live.
I don't think she ever intended to replicate the studio version, she always changes phrasing and add libs, dodge some notes but hits others even more impressive than the recording itself, that's why she's amazing and keeps you on the edge
Christina has had a 20 year career of belting some incredibly high and challenging songs, we all know she can do it but at this point I'm much happier with her taking smart choices during performances and not tiring her voice out too much. I don't think these songs were ever written to be taken on tour, doing show after show of high belty songs.
Ahh yeah. This! I noticed that when I sing higher, I can belt high note perfectly, but when I sing lower, something like stuck in my throat and I can't produce the intended belt note.

I mean we all know she is a vocal powerhouse, but she seriously needs to consider consult a vocal coach to coach her on executing some of her songs better, especially this one. The studio version of this song was flawless, powerful and easy to listen to. But all of the live version of this song were kinda hard to listen to; its either she dodged the high notes, or she strained too hard and caused this cracking voice. I mean she should find a way to perform this song better, either she lower the key or find another vocal technique to deliver those notes safely.
She could never eclipse that part live and on the spot. She did it w/ such ease in the studio - granted that they do multiple takes. Her struggle area is high belts. She's always wanted to do the Whitney thing and I get it, but girl... That's not yo' range. She has a lovely voice, but when she starts straining and grunting for no reason, she messes everything up.

Absolutely HATED the she never ever sung it like the studio version, same with Beyonce's Single Ladies at the bridge, when she sings "don't treat me to the things of the world" differently.

Her voice gets heavier that she is unable to take upper belt. Expected as high as in studio album

She most likely sang it a couple of semi tones lower in the studio and then had it enhanced to a slightly higher key. Lots of singers do this.
If only she didn't lower it, she might hit the belt note. Because it's easier to belt with higher note than lower note.

She's good low to mid range. It's the high parts that she struggles with.

Art Aspire Well in the studio you get a million tries, I guess she put the best sounding vocals and combined them
I knowww but she has sung live 1000s of times in her whole career and not once was that lucky time when she even accidentally sounded like the studio.
Art Aspire Well her technique isn’t the healthiest, so it’s probably very straining on her voice
