This song was probably the most important to me back in the day, because all other empowering songs talked about ,,you still have friends that will help you blaah blaah", well I had no friends in 2002 and only Christina told me I need no one, just myself. And what a beautiful melody, too. One of the best songs ever if you ask me.

This song got me through a really bad time in my teenage life. My dad was very verbally abusive and I was contemplating suicide. One night I was just watching music videos and this came on. It was like she sung the song just for me. I cried like a baby, and I realized that I was strong and I could face anything. It's amazing what the right music can do for you. Thank you.

It always makes me cry. I don't think xtina even knows how many people she saved with stripped. This album came to me at the lowest point in my life, I really was giving up. Then I heard the voice within... When she said "don't cry, I'll be right here when your world starts to fall". I always felt like she was really talking to me. (Not me f*cking sobbing while writing this) everytime i saw myself giving up I would just hide from the world and listen to this. I still struggle to this day with it But because of her I know where to find just enough strength to keep going. Thank you Christina.

She sung this at a time in my childhood/teen years when I was being abused and my innocence taken from me behind closed doors. Because of her I found the strength to speak out about what was going on. Thankfully I was heard and the abuse stopped after years. I owe my life to her. I can not thank her enough for giving me the courage to do the hardest thing I ever had to do.
PTSD has brought me here to listen to it again in my 30s to remind me of the one time I had any strength. CSA survivor because of her. X

This song played when I was paralyzed from the neck down in the hospital. I remember I had lost all hope. I thought I would be in a vegetative state for the rest of my life. I had never listened to the lyrics and its positive message until I was there lying on that bed. I remember it did something to me internally. Almost like it lit a fire within me that let me know I had the inner strength to pull through, and now I am back to normal. I will always trust my voice within. Thank you so much, Christina. This is not only music, it is food for the soul.

I remember this vividly on MTV when I was 13 or 14. It was the very first time I heard and saw the video and something about it spoke to me on a deeper level and I just started crying. Growing up as an orphan and gay was the hardest thing a teenager can go through. I hated myself and everyone and suicidal thoughts comes into my head every single day. I’ve always been a fan of Xtina and Stripped is my favorite album of hers. But now being 26, this song in particular strikes such a nerve in me, it always makes me want to cry. The older I get to 30, the more I feel the need to look inward and find inner peace, which the song is about. Especially the part “Don’t hide, you’ll never change if you just run away.” Such a powerful song. Her lyricism is underrated. Stripped is a pop masterpiece and Xtina is a pop legend. Love her
