To be fair, I could see why guts became the way he did in black swordsman arc. All the stuff that happened to him definitely messes up his mind. In addition, Miura was 19 years old when he write the first arc of berserk so that's probably a reason of why guts was overly edgy lol. Miura was just starting out.

The age is mostly wrong - Guts left the band of the hawk at age 18, reunited with them to rescue Griffith at age 19, then when Guts was 21 years old the conviction arc began.

Pretty sure there was a 2 year gap between golden age and conviction. So guts would have been about 21 at the start of conviction arc.

Guts joined the Band of the Hawk at 15 and he spent 3 years with them so he leaved at 18 and came back one year after (19) and the eclipse happened. Then he went on his apostles hunt for 2 years (Black Swordman and Lost Children arcs) so he was 21 when the Conviction Arc started. After that we don't have any idea on how many time has passed it's just speculations.
Yes, also I guess to much white hair for having 24. I guess those approaches to his age are wrong.

When they arrive on Elfhelm, Guts is 24. It says so in the official guidebook that came after chapter 350.

I'm pretty sure Guts was 25 by the start of the Conviction arc, because he took 3 years away from Casca to hunt down Apostles during the timeskip after the Eclipse if I remember correctly.
It was about 2 years.

In the 14th version he is still 18 years old...
Edit: He was out for 1 year after leaving Griffith, so it doesn't makes sense that he is 20 years old when he left Griffith and 22 when he came back.
Guts is someone I will always look up to.

Not sure he'd be able to or if that's how it was supposed to go? As gaeseric was probably only able to because in his time it was just HIS own rage fueling the armor, this time around guts is dealing with his own rage along with gaeseric's aaaand in 364 sadly his body has become increasingly reliant on it. Also doubt it'd be that simple, and if it was he'd end up killing his kid
@@TJVBernal maybe thats the answer. Gaiseric goes rampage and got eaten by the armor while Guts try to find a peace with the beast of darkness and end up getting more stronger berserker armor than Gaiseric even the God Hand himself

I think he's 18 when he leaves griffith, when the eclipse 19, and the black swordsman to the end guts is 23-24, (I think that's because if the moonlight child, the son of guts and casca, is about 4 -5 years, it makes sense having the dates of the eclipse)

Guts story has taken place over 3 decades and the only adaptations we have gotten of this timeless classic is the 1997 anime which only covered the golden age
The movie trilogy that didn't go past the eclipse either
And the 2016 was a slap in the face for berserk fans
Mark reyme, he has berserk fan animation and he is probably the best at adapting the story panels

My man Guts went through so much shit that I thought he was in his mid 30s or early 40s back in my first contact with the series.
I just realized he's 24 years old by the end of the last chapter, he looks much older even start to grown a grey hair probably because of the stress and fatigue that pent up over the years.

Well, i think his older appearence besides having 21-24 years old is because the hard training and all the stress that surely make him phisically tired (even if his literally considered be one of the most handsome protagonist in manga)

You forgot one of Guts forms: when he was a teenager, before meeting the Band of the Hawk, Guts was imprisoned by a count for harming his son. Guts was sprawled on the floor in his own urine, bruised, injured, hungry and thirsty. But in his cell was a lone flower with a small girl sitting atop it: a flower spirit. Guts befriended the spirit who nursed him back to health but in the process, destroyed itself.

Actually... Guts joined the Hawks at 16, fought 3 years with Griffith which makes him 19, Left the Band for one year so he was 20 when he Returned. After the Eclipse, he was Brutally wounded as he stayed almost a year with Rickert, Erika, Judou. then he left for 2 years during the Conviction Ark. making him 23-24 years old
He joined the Band of the Hawk at 15 and he only stayed with Godo, Rickert, and Erica for 1 month after the eclipse, not 1 year.
