In Ancient India, there was this Rajput(a warrior clan) had many such kings that displayed such feats. but well the weight of the swords never crossed that 30 kg mark. source: my grandpa, worked in restoring ancient artifacts in the local museum(in a city that was the one of the homes of the Rajputs)

Also there definetly wasnt anything realistic in Guts slicing plate armor, and wielding that sword that most likely weights well over 100kilos, but its ok because he is comic book character.

Yea, that's not true. Berserk's stills images and full page panels are amazing, it's character and monster designs are creative and terrifying, but the battles and fight scenes... yea, they are clunky and flow poorly. Want to see a manga that captures flow perfectly? Read OPM, Dragon Ball also has great paneling and flow. Berserk fandom is a bunch of white knights that put the manga and Miura on a pedestal.

I saw a video that did a good frame-by-frame analysis of the first fight showing how they violated every rule of action cinema, making it a very confusing view (you don't know where characters are vis-a-vis one another, etc.). That said, I loved the 2016 season. They didn't fail to capture the spirit of Berserk, and that's all I need-if that's given, then more Berserk is good Berserk.

Guts is def the BEST anime hero in existence, the fact that he helps everyone just shows how he cares to protect the innocent and weak after the eclispe he embarked on a quest for vengeance by slaying apostles all over Midland but deep inside he just wanted to be reunited with Casca and protect her at all costs!
He's no hero, he never cared about the people around him except those closest to him, and for that he never helps people but leaves them all the time unless it gets him to where he wants to be. He is much like a monster. A justified one, take that one time he used a little girl to lure an apostle, and the time he used a kid to attract a group of psuedo-apostles and lit up a farmhouse to get rid of them. He is the farthest thing from a "hero", he is more of a guy that simply seeks vengeance above all else. For now he wanted to bring Casca to safety so he can continue pursuing Griffith and serving his head to his beast of the darkness on a platter.
Also, you got a lot of that wrong. Guts "wants to be reunited" with Casca, but deep inside he wants her dead because she's viewed as a burden by him. The Beast of Darkness is basically an embodiment of Guts' true desire, revenge. He wants Casca dead so that he could continue pursuing Griffith and Femto, and to serve their heads to the beast of darkness on a platter.
@@vaporwave-man guts had changed a lot over time, you gotta remember that his black swordman years were after the worst experience any human could imagine, today, he has amassed a party of many friends and people who he genuenly cares for, as for the beast of darkness, its left up to interpretation, but its clear that they're not his true intentions, otherwise he would have already acted on it.
The song every time Guts appears is so bad ass. I didnt mind the animation as much as most, it wasnt my favorite but they captured the brutality and darkness of the story and it was so close to the Managua story wise.
I'm glad you're being honest about it because whenever I'm usally the only Berserk fan that's neutral over the CGI while watching this adaptation on HBOMax?? It's always the same complaining thing with those other people, it's like they don't even know what the term "neutral" even means.
You know my first series of Berserk was this 2016 i didn't even read Manga at that time i didn't know what was going in anime many times but i was enjoying it seeing guts and puck after that i started reading manga and after 6days i heard a sad news of kentaro passing away i read berserk in 9days and then started reading vagabond and many more and i still like this anime it doesn't matter if it's CGI or clanging in 1997 their characters were not drawn properly but in this and golden age movies they were perfect i wish if kentaro don't focus too much on art and on story it would still be a success many will not agree i enjoyed the story it doesn't matter if art quality gets reduced it's a masterpiece

I saw a video that did a good frame-by-frame analysis of the first fight showing how they violated every rule of action cinema, making it a very confusing view (you don't know where characters are vis-a-vis one another, etc.). That said, I loved the 2016 season. They didn't fail to capture the spirit of Berserk, and that's all I need-if that's given, then more Berserk is good Berserk.
Ok i know that the 2016 sword clashes are kind of a meme but i lowkey like them and the swing sounds like gun shots. kind of emphasizes how big guts' sword really is

Guts is def the BEST anime hero in existence, the fact that he helps everyone just shows how he cares to protect the innocent and weak after the eclispe he embarked on a quest for vengeance by slaying apostles all over Midland but deep inside he just wanted to be reunited with Casca and protect her at all costs!
He's no hero, he never cared about the people around him except those closest to him, and for that he never helps people but leaves them all the time unless it gets him to where he wants to be.
He is much like a monster. A justified one, take that one time he used a little girl to lure an apostle, and the time he used a kid to attract a group of psuedo-apostles and lit up a farmhouse to get rid of them.
He is the farthest thing from a "hero", he is more of a guy that simply seeks vengeance above all else.
For now he wanted to bring Casca to safety so he can continue pursuing Griffith and serving his head to his beast of the darkness on a platter.
Also, you got a lot of that wrong.
Guts "wants to be reunited" with Casca, but deep inside he wants her dead because she's viewed as a burden by him. The Beast of Darkness is basically an embodiment of Guts' true desire, revenge. He wants Casca dead so that he could continue pursuing Griffith and Femto, and to serve their heads to the beast of darkness on a platter.
@@vaporwave-man guts had changed a lot over time, you gotta remember that his black swordman years were after the worst experience any human could imagine, today, he has amassed a party of many friends and people who he genuenly cares for, as for the beast of darkness, its left up to interpretation, but its clear that they're not his true intentions, otherwise he would have already acted on it.

Sometimes Berserk 2D animation but something 3D too. It just feel weird, but I don't care, it just beautifull.
This season brings back memories.
The song every time Guts appears is so bad ass. I didnt mind the animation as much as most, it wasnt my favorite but they captured the brutality and darkness of the story and it was so close to the Managua story wise.
I'm glad you're being honest about it because whenever I'm usally the only Berserk fan that's neutral over the CGI while watching this adaptation on HBOMax?? It's always the same complaining thing with those other people, it's like they don't even know what the term "neutral" even means.

You know my first series of Berserk was this 2016 i didn't even read Manga at that time i didn't know what was going in anime many times but i was enjoying it seeing guts and puck after that i started reading manga and after 6days i heard a sad news of kentaro passing away i read berserk in 9days and then started reading vagabond and many more and i still like this anime it doesn't matter if it's CGI or clanging in 1997 their characters were not drawn properly but in this and golden age movies they were perfect i wish if kentaro don't focus too much on art and on story it would still be a success many will not agree i enjoyed the story it doesn't matter if art quality gets reduced it's a masterpiece
Luca and Pepe were mind-blown when seeing Puck, yet at the beginning of the manga, elves seemed to be a common sighting. Not many elves in this part of Midland I guess.

From what I've seen, this is probably the only decently looking scene throughout the entire first season, I genuinely liked it for the most part.

The animation in this scene (even the 3D animation) isn't bad. It's alright.
I was really hoping Luca would join Guts on their journey. She's not strong but has incredible luck (good karma probably). Tho I don't think she'll serve any purpose, I just want to see more of her. She got such great qualities. What a well-written character, having such characteristics you won't expect in a quite disturbing series.
I think the animators don't know how to distribute a budget, all the secondary characters are in 2d but the main characters in 3d
I must say that the 2D animation in this scene is pretty well done.

Despite how much I hate the 3D animation for the anime, I can't deny how fricken awesome this scene was and how the 3D actually didn't look that bad for this scene.

The guy wasn't wrong about it being god's grace. He just didn't understand it was for the people he oppressed and karma was going to bite him hard.
