- Timelapse footage of laying track on the upper deck of the Union Pacific Cascade Subdivision in HO Scale. This work was accomplished over the span of three days after benchwork and subroadbed was installed (not shown). Enjoy this video of progress on the upper deck of this multi-deck model railroad.
I like the glued plywood for the curved section. Slick!
Nice video I hope to see more
Great job on the track laying. Spline roadbed is not always the easiest thing to do but if you do it right, like you did, it is very strong, dependable and it forces your curves to be more gradual. Nice job.
Very impressive
Cool update, thanks!
Awesome layout my friend
👍🏻👍🏻
Nice video! Are you johncaff22 yourself on it? Good progress on your layout, Im folllowing the build of it. Good luck!!
Grtz, Ronald.
Thanks, yes that is me! Appreciate you following along
@@unionpacificcascadesubdivi6477 You're welcome :) Its a joy to see what it becomes. I follow with interest!
I see you are not using cork? Laying track right on the sub road bed? I am planning to use cork. I am curious?
Not using cork was one of the more hasty decisions I made. Ultimately I think it would have helped a great deal. Now I am trying to shape the terrain to create the proper right of way profile. I would recommend it greatly. The other thing about spline I learned was to really be careful about how level it is through curves. I assumed it would work out but really had to go back and spend time shaping the sub-roadbed surface to make it work. Ultimately I am pleased with the result, but would do things with a higher level of attention to detail and care in the future. Hope this helps.
@@unionpacificcascadesubdivi6477 It does help. First I'm N scale. Second my layout is so close to yours it is. And third? Well there is no third. LOL except with a 12 foot by 16 foot foot print may make the runs just a little longer. Thanks for the help. I watched the video on weathering the UP engine. I'm going to try it on some of my N scale engines.
Thanks for sharing. Love your layout. What are you gluing the track down with?
Clear caulk. Holds track well until ballasting and easy to remove if I need to adjust anything.
