Suggestion: Make the city against the wall, so that the elevated area can become more of a hill and it will look better. Also so that you can expand the city in the future.
I think the reason why he isn’t doing that is since it complicates building on that side of the table
@@Mavve69 ig that is true...But when the city expands I think it would be better to be against a wall
@@qwertyjeffMC Yeah when the part that would be against the wall is completely finished it’d be great
@@Mavve69
For the tall buildings- especially the one with the arches that you did in this video, I think you should design some horizontal interrupts in the walls- things like window ledges and decorative outthrusts that you would see on real life architecture. I think this would help you tie the walls and pillars together for structure, and also interrupt the tall flat wall and give more visual interest.
for the little cracks at the rails, you could at grass or vegetation similar to how it is in real life at some places
I was so exited when I saw a video came out about the city!
Same
Amazing video man, this series is going to be amazing. Also your brother is a psychopath for lining up those tile plates 😭
That's exactly what I was thinking, but he was determined 😂
For the cracks at the edges of the train tracks, you can use a puddy like substance to fill it but don't let it touch the rails
This city looks crazy
You should be careful with the sun on your lego, it will bleach the bricks over time. The sun is not your lego friend. I see you have discovered that laying train track is a real headache.
My windows block UV light which makes it so my pieces don't yellow. I had a couple pieces yellow with my old windows though 😅
Suggestion: make a beach!!!!!!! 🏝
INCREDIBLE!
light bluish gray definitely looks better. Would go well with the fire escape platform.
finally, a lego city that actually looks realistic.
Best RUclips channel
22:34 every single window has plastic to peel off, that's why there is a slight blue tinge
There's no plastic parts to peel off that I can find.
@@brickstudiosYT in the video it looked like it, could have just been glare or something
Make a street running section for the track. It is basically a railroad track embedded into the road. Pretty easy, just do what you did for the crossing but for maybe half a straight section, maybe with a small station and planters. Just an idea. Maybe cobblestone paths on the side closest to the edge, but that’s just me. I love what you did with the crossings. It’s your Lego city, it’s just what I think.
Love the infrastructure. But the fire escapes are way too close together on the building. Buildings floors tend to have some thickness to them. I think there should be a tan brick between each black frame. It would look 1000x better
Yeah there will be, we just didn't put the entire thing together yet.
Suggestion: You need an airport with a Concorde or a B747
I'm really a fan of those level grade crossings, with the custom crossing guard! Well done on the track layout too.
I think it would be cool If the city lit up but you can do that later in the project if you want.
I think it would be cool if you built a lego city and light it if you want to
What if you made a museum in your city that just had a bunch of references to old lego themes?
27:43 I like your channel more than brick science!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Sooooo cool you did a great job worth the 2 month wait I love u videos ❤
Suggestion: You should have a gad station with a garage 👀
Love the video, can't wait to see where it goes.
every lego fan's PAIN that one lego train track
You need a town hall and a parking lot. Btw love the progress
This was awesome
Build a tunnel for a train track and build some more table so it look like a real city
I forgot about this series I need to catch up
After 2 months part 2 is here! Yay. I should probably subscribe now lol. Have you thought about adding a city park with pond? Small bridge going over the pond maybe. Just an idea. Wish I could build this! Looks so much fun but also very tedious. All the best for part 3!
First, the Light Bluish Gray doors look better for the fire escape. Second, just a suggestion, you should add an RC hobby store to the city layout.
Great to see a solid looking start to your LEGO city, I'm excited to follow along!
Could I just make a suggestion on your filming technique: could you please try to keep the camera steadier? The whip pans and constant erratic movement makes it pretty jarring to watch. Otherwise, great video!
Tan doors
Omg tysm for this video i have been wai
Waiting*
Loved the video. Watching this allowed me to solve a lot of problems on how to out train tracks intact with my Lego boards
Awesome video guys! I may have to save this vid for when I finally start my own city
I would usually recommend MILS plates for cities, but this looks awesome! Nice job!
Those roads look amazing
yo for your tallest lego figure you should use the legs from the guy from the dune orthocopter
Are they longer than the Avatar legs? Because that’s Wilde if they are.
@@Vindictator1972 whoa.. look up lego dune baron harkonnen
You might need to put the RR tracks back 1-2 studs. It will help with the issue of the ramp not fitting in the constraints of the baseplate but also it will allow you to have two crossing guards on each grade crossing. Oh, and the crossing guard facing the intersection should have 2 sets of lights: one for oncoming traffic and one facing the road connecting to the oncoming road.
And I like the light grey on the building…
My bricker in stud. You need to keep one or 2 brick built supports for the elevated section, and maybe have a small fence around those so it’s like some underground structural repairs. A little world building in the built world. Throw in a worker or 2 to sell it at one of them.
epic bro love ur videos❤
To be fair, if you want to go up, be it elevated structures or mountains just get some BYGGLEK boxes. They are sold at IKEA and 35x26x12 biggest one costs 20 bucks. They also got smaller boxes and they come studded and fit in the lego dimensions. It sure as hell beats buying separate parts to get the same size and structural strength.
Just a Question, but aren't the delivery gies for the BrickLink orders so expensive?
Sorry, you wrote "gies." I think you misspelled something 😂
hey! two suggestions-
for additions? maybe a small siding with a shed for any locomotives! and for a suggestion, maybe use some light grey for the sleepers, since a lot of modern railways use concrete sleepers in place of wood ones now!
We have a new LEGO room and was wondering what type train track to use! Plastic 9v or 12v!
12V beacues there are more tracks on 1 if the train is smaller. But if you want use 9V beacues there are classic and looks cool so i Will say.. 9V
I used Lego 9v just because it looks way nicer than 12v, but 12v also has a lot more functionality than 9v. So just use whichever you'd prefer.
In my Lego city I made a section for stores restaurants and that stuff I recommend that
Motion sickness watching this!
Sorry 😅
You should have run some trains like your 9v blue one
Given that half of it is elevated, you should have the train track go under a tunnel, which is exposed to show it going under
That's actually exactly what I'm planning on doing!
@brickstudiosYT very nice. I think you could have just the illusion of a tunnel but have the majority of it exposed
YAY GREAT!
7:45 Just wanted to tell you that I think the “DD” from the DD Bricks paper is ดีดี which means is good in Thai since it came from Thailand :)
Question are u planning on adding official Lego modular buildings to the city or are u going to make it all from scratch?
I'm gonna make it all from scratch
you could make all of the roads the height of the tracks and not have the slopes at all. Also you couls make the crossing barrier longer and place it outside of the sidewalk and have it block the sidewalk and road when down.
I just started watching your videos and I love them
Yo for the building I'm pretty sure the Avengers tower has a double door in trans black Hope this tip helps. ❤❤❤
Suggestion: military base?
nice I'm bin waiting forever !! lets go!
You should look at Brickcrafts' LEGO City roads. He has a good system for making hills and he even has a good way for putting tracks through the road.
I’d suggest build more greenery which trees and bushes and also add decorations to the skyscrapers
It’s finally here!!!!!! I have been waiting for this
I wish I had the time and throw away money for these kinds of projects.
Make a train station
For the cracks between the road and train track, I’d move the slopes over one on each side then just put 2 of the flat pieces in the middle or maybe there’s a smaller ramp that’s 4 wide?
Especially if the baseplates are official, or branded in any way, putting a brick onto the side of a brick with side studs, it's considered an illegal building technique, because the branding pushes up against the side brick.
Yeah but I don't honestly care when it's literally the slight Lego logo that is making it almost microscopically illegal 😂
Lego genius
Nice
Mix masonry bricks with normal ones to cut cost and add texture
Working on the old 9v metal rail better than 12v and RC. 12v is easily to break and RC need to change the batteries constantly. In the long run, if you don’t change your layout very often. 9v among the best preferences but not their price.
love ur vids, personally I'm to broke to do this but maybe in the future me and my brother can do something like this
Add an apartment complex that would be pretty cool
Suggestion Hide train controls in a donut shop
Ps add my comment to the video if you use this pls❤
Put the city on mill plates
I don't really need to make things modular like that though
Finnaly, thx for posting this
Yessir new update
The transparent black been out before trans brown. The only difference between the new trans black is its darker than the og
I decided that I am going to watch all the city videos
Yo bro I like the custom lego phone stand
Dark bluish gray/dark stone gray for the door rails inside the curves will be hardly noticeable especially the farther from viewpoint...
12:34 mount it under the table so its out of the way but excisable (idk if you have already done this its just a idea that pop in my head)
Yeah I thought about that and it'd be nice but I have no idea how I'd do it 😂
@@brickstudiosYT I would build a bracket out of random legos and sacrifice some to drill holes trough and mount it to the bottom, or if there tecnic holes I would build a braked out of tecnic stuff
I have a question, what type of connectors did you use to join the technique art board plates so it would be so rigid ? I’m trying to do the same in my city to elevate buildings put mine isn’t as rigid as yours!!! Please let know, thanks!!!
Well instead of using Lego piece 4459 we used piece 32054, which we did to make it easier to take apart in the future if needed, and that also could've helped with the strength. The thing that probably made it the strongest is the plates though. They made a huge difference!
Thanks for replying, I appreciate it. I’m using those plates, ordered 100 from Lego!
I found some used 32054 in bricklink for ¢1 each so bought 1k to have around, they’ll be handy for building with technique and easier for me to remove, specially because I have neuropathy in my hands, thanks for letting me know of that part!
make a IC3 train from denmark :D
Hi could you add to city some 80s cars like ecto 1 from ghostbusters or delorean from back to the future it will give the city some nostalgia
Me: yeah, I'm pretty sure I don't have autism
Also me, 2:30am: Neat, a whole build video for a lego train and city layout.
Digestion add Lego Ghostbusters firehouse somehow
Hey is that union pacific Train real lego pieces? Because i have been wanting to make one in lego
Yeah, it's 100% legit Lego! It's my custom build and if you wanna build it for yourself I actually have the instructions on my store! brickstudios.store
19:12 it’s called a railroad crossing, and they’re called arms…
Bro, you’re making me jealous, I have a city of my own, and yours looks better.
Well don't give up! You can always keep changing things around until you like it!
Are you gonna add your old buildings to this city?
What old buildings?
@@brickstudiosYT the buildings you used way back then when your channel was getting started.
@@WPBrickfilms Well I don't have those put together anymore, they're long gone 😅
@@brickstudiosYT nah bruv, it's ok, idk
Shoulf just make a shelf edge around the edge in the building and slide a normal base plate in there on it
What program did you use to plan the build? Like what you showed on your laptop
make some elevators please
You should add a bank
those gaps in the train crossings u have left, can u not just do that a similar way as the middle but then with 1x6 white tiles?
Giant Floppy Disk?
I like the tan doors better.
Series will be Weekly? Monthly? or once 2 months? YEARLY?
Probably around every 2 months
Might do something like this myself… on a side channel, of course.
Lessgooo new video!!
You kind of sound like the main guy from hacksaw smith 🤔
I do?
@@brickstudiosYT in my opinion at least from this video.
dont rush your self
Me when I see this. MOM DAD!!!!! NEW LEGO CITY UPDATE!!!!!!!
