Oh man, watching you get into that boat was no joke. As somebody who had knee surgery just over a year ago, I hope you got an mri on that thing when you got back.
Beautiful moon in the background from 23:10:. Another wonderful episode! Thank you so much for taking us along with you. ❤ I'm hopeful your knee improves a whole lot overnight but for sure hopefully, throughout the next week.
You can wrap it in cabbage and it will help to draw the fluids out if you could find you some comfrey make a poultice out of it it's old name is Nick bone but it's a very healing thing and the only other thing is arnica will bring blood flow to the wound but you only put it on the wound prayers for you man I'm loving being on this journey with you I wish I could but that time has passed for me so I am enjoying this God bless you keep you safe give you strength for whatever comes each day 🙏👍 also if you get cold if you find some type of oil to put on you emu oil will take the pain out of your knee but any kind of oil will keep you warm 🙏🪔 take care I know that people out here appreciate you sharing your journey and are praying for you 🙏 I love hearing you sing Beautiful 👍 worst case scenario blood clot 🙏
Doing anything physical with any limb on the mend from any kind of injury, can be a real toil. Hopefully it will go down in swelling as you continue, or you may need to lay up a few days in order to rest it. Feel better buddy, looking forward to next week to see your experience with the wolves or coyotes.
With swollen body parts , elevation and compression are your best friends . Sleep with your legs elevated then wrap it up to compress it during the day . Excellent video !
Great drone footage. Walleye is delicious. 🎣 I hope that when you get back to civilization, you didn't drink beer. I've never met a non-beer drinking male with gout. Too much uric acid is a killer. I feel for you. Thanks for sharing. 🛶
What is that on the side of the bank right at 16 minutes?!! Looks like a blue cooler which I wasn't expecting in the middle of nowhere. I've been following since you were around 14k subscribers and every week I'm so hopeful you've made it to the 100k subscriber milestone - so close! Another thing I noticed, just starting at this video I think, is that there were a few ads! Maybe 4 or 5 of them, they were all super short. I was sure to let them play all the way through, hoping that helps you in some monetized way. Thanks for sharing your journey. I look forward to the new episodes every week!
Yes it was a cooler. At times I pass areas like that where people have camped in the past and have unfortunately left things behind. Yes the 100k milestone isn't too far away! At this rate it will be February I think 🙂
Another great vid - I love starting my Saturday mornings with you, Tom. I’m feeling your pain, my trout - I’ve had both my knees replaced 😬. Looking forward to next Saturday! The preview is intriguing!
Hi Tom! I hope all is well, for you! My mom used to suffer with gout. It's definitely not a fun situation, from what I've been told. There wasn't much that could be done to have any form of comfort. My moms started in her feet & worked its way a little up her leg. Thank you, yet again, for sharing your journey, with us. Feel better soon!
Gout is horrible! When I do get it, it's normally in my big toe, and it is excruciating!! In the past, I've been lying on the floor in tears with the pain! I don't recommend it. But this is the first time I've experienced it in my knee, which also indicated to me that it may not be gout (hint hint) and could be something more serious
@@WhatInTheWorld_Tom I was going to recommend wrapping it with an ace bandage... However, if it's gout, that wouldn't be very good advice. Have you checked for any spider bites or something you may have, unbeknownst to you, been allergic to?
Gout ouch. Yea I get Gout on my right and left toes not fun. You had a enjoyable canoe ride this video it seems. I never really thought about the rising water of a river due to the dams, but it's something new to me that I learnt through watching your video's. It did look as though the swelling of your knee went down throughout the day and the movement got easier. Hoe the mosquito's weren't a nuisance over night for you as you did pitch your tent in the long grass. Okay Tom catch you on your next video. cheers, but as you are a New Zealander I'll say "CHUR"!
😮 that's a pretty significant cellulitis, concerning left thigh to below the knee. I'm a 60yo, retired man RN in critical care. Gout often flares up with increased uric acid it could be something you ate, like pork or rabbit
Hi Tom. Hopefully your knee got better quickly. Don't think you'd be comfy in a hoody just now over there. Enjoying this series very much here in Scotland. Slangevar. 🍺❤️
Yes 🙂 wrap and elevate. I'm not sure why I didn't think to wrap it. I do have a medical kit with me.. but elevating it wasn't an option. The Pas is 2.5 days away, so my goal is to get there as fast as possible and see a doctor
I think you need to get as close to town as possible and thee to a doctor. Knee pain that is extreme while about 1/2 done with your trip is a recipe for no fun. GO TO THE DOCTOR!!!
Aww Tommo, there is nothing worse than a dicky knee. You need a serious massage, & perhaps some physiotherapy, after the battering your body is going through. You’re a trooper mate. Some stunning footage throughout this entire video too. Can’t wait for next week. Be well. 👍🏽
For sure my arms have taken a battering! That's why it's bizarre that it's my knee that gets the first injury! If it was going to be a joint, you would think it would be my elbow or shoulder.. 🤷🏼♂️
For sure.. though, I usually only get "emotional gout".. when I'm going through a stressfull difficult time in my life e.g when my dad suddenly passed away. I've never had it from having a poor diet.. that's why I'm questioning whether it's gout. Gout was my first assumption 😊
Wow, the size of the Wolf prints is enormous! Thank you for sharing the beautiful people/Canadian connections you make along the way.
Another great episode Tom! So sorry about your knee. (I know that was months ago now). Hoping all is well with you. Merry Christmas!

Sorry to hear about that knee of yours. I’d be looking into getting some anti inflammatory medicine like Neproxen. Best of luck. 🇨🇦

Have you looked ahead to Manitoba & what route you’re taking? Theres a ton of huge lakes & rivers definitely wanna plan route
Yes 🙂 The route is to cross Cedar Lake, through Grand Rapids, then all the way down Lake Winnipeg, aka Big Windy. Arriving at Winnipeg River

you should carry some Cherry juice or some Tart Cherry Pills to help with gout flair ups!!
I do have gout pills if necessary which i started taking.. but something tells me this isn't gout...

Wow, was that poison ivy where the stake was hammered into the ground? Sure looked it to me. Hope your knee is better soon.
I use Vicks Vapor Rub on my muscle aches. It works wonders.

Could be arthritis in your knee flaring up 😞 it actually looks like rheumatoid arthritis. I have that and it looks like how my knees get.
If it's rheumatoid arthritis you must stay away from nightshade plants and things like tomatoes it will flair you up 🙏
The second time you showed your knee it didn’t look as red👍
Castor oil packs will help your knee .

@barbaraweigel9831 uff! I'm sorry to hear.

Soak the knee in cold water and then pack it with river mud
I’m sorry but going into the wilderness with that level of injury is just dumb.
