- The Sword of Night Katana is a secret katana that you will most likely miss out on in the new Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC! This video includes a full build guide for the sword of night katana and showcases the moveset of the sword of night katana as well as its special ash of war Witching Hours Slash. Witching Hour Slash CANNOT be blocked by ANYTHING. This weapon has an unblockable ash of war, deals physical AND magic damage, and is even able to build up bleed damage! This has to be in the top 3 elden ring katanas of all time (Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree 2024)

No one Explained this @8:10 for the Sword of night katana, and the other videos for Yimir questline DONT show that its a missble item nor do they explain where this "Iris of Occultation" is located and that you CANT get the katana without it, at the time of this video its quite literally the only video if you search "sword of night katana" and the missable item required to reedem it lol

@@syrobe I was just taking a look at the wiki for the Iris of occultation and it tells you if you give it to her you'll get her spirit ashes

@@kaero3132 Have you tried optimizing it? It's strength lies in the fact that both charge attacks and AoW can be boosted with consecutive attack buffs.
Also don't forget about the fact that it's semicorporeal (bye bye, fingerprint/moore users).

The ash of war summon can be enhanced to actually summon 2 of the summon at the same time. Found that info on a walkthrough guide yesterday.

Thank you so much man. I beat the dlc final boss but the hardest boss was the environment, couldn't figure out how to get to some of these places and wanted her katana so bad.

Just after getting the Occult Eye is a sealed spirit spring to the right of where the Ghostflame Dragon is, it leads to the top of the mountain between the fort and the dragon. There is a grace, a Miquella's cross and a Scadutree fragment. And just wondering, does this skip break any other questlines that come before it?

I've used Mohg's Shackle near a sealed spirit spring trying to find hidden walls and I accidentally unsealed the spring, guess that works too.

for the people that got a 3rd map dw you don't need to do it you just have to keep talking to him until there's no dialogue options left then you can reset and he will be gone. Hopefully this helps for the people that are stuck

For the spirit springs, u can use mohg’s shackle to break them instead of finding the rock formation

Just was going through your builds video. i can only have one milicent prosthesis or rotten curved wing sword insignia as milicent quest reward.which one do you recommend what to replace the other with..
Maybe its too late, but this is what I did: There is a normal curved wing sword insignia talisman, which you cant equip if the rotten one is equipped. BUT you cannequip it if milicent prothesis is. So I recommend you getting millicent prothesis and normal winged sword insignia talismans for this run, and if you ever do a NG+ try getting rotten one and replace normal for rotten (since rotten better, but first run is better to have both milicent prothesis and normal insignia instead of only rotten) understood? Also you can just ask in official discord if someone got a rotten insignia talisman to spare and maybe you get lucky

I hate that I missed this before doing the quest cause the only thing I had for the quest was Iris of Grace and didn’t know it made a difference and I got the spirit summon instead 😭

There is 2 ulcerated tree spirits at the bottom of shadow keep where you drain the water, one of which gives you an iris of occultation.
Any idea as to why i cant reset the world? Ive tried to tp back and forth to the bonfire but no luck, just cant get him to budge from his char.
What happens if you get 2 of the iris can’t you give it to both?
My goodness it’s Ashe works with so many talismans. I think two handed sword also will work as long as you connect with the actual blade?

I just beat Rellana now this pops up, she was tougher than Mellenia, had to summon Leda and Omen killer spirit to beat her, I sniped her with Bolt of Gransax.
You can destroy the rock nearby with mohg and margit Shackles! I haven't seen anyone mentionning it, but you can destroy most rock by just using the shackle

Came for the sword, stayed for the lore. My god fuck the katana, the lore featured in this questline is some of the best I've ever seen. FromSoft outdone themselves i don't even know how but it fucking happened. This DLC is the peak of what fromsoft produced. With this, Elden Ring pretty much cements itself as the best rpg game of all time ion even care.
