DISCO INFERNO talks about how TONY KHAN is copying booking ideas from VINCE RUSSO ruclips.net/video/R5fQhNUhknQ/видео.html
well Heaven help us if Tony Kahn is
@@rondoughhowell6442 look at all the effort you've got to so that would will think you're stupid. Your spelling is so bad that it can only have been done on purpose.
Even David felt bad for winning the belt right after winning in the locker room asking Booker T how many times you been world champion at that time 0
Sean O'Haire really should have been a bigger deal in the wrestling business but when you hear all the stories, he was his own worst enemy. It's a shame.
I loved Sean O’haire. I thought he’d be a world champion when I was a kid.
He wasn't telling us anything that we didn't already know 😎
For real. Dude was a beast.
If WCW didn’t go out of business he would have been. He and Mark Jindrak. Definitely future WCW World Champions
@@thesupervisor3270 maybe you O'Haire sounded like a really tough guy to deal with based on a lot of the stories going around about him.
I couldn’t finish this. Disco should be the face of Tylenol for headaches. 😂
I could've swore Vince said he had more character than 80% of the roster
He was talking about being an on screen character because so many people to this day STILL think he's really like his on screen character in real life
@@zachary_attackery.. he really is that kinda douche bag in real life lol

That spear from Goldberg to Russo was as brutal as that kick to the head of Bret Hart.
Not as brutal as owen breaking Austin's neck doe
Ah, yes! The only accident ever in pro wrestling.
Not as brutal as the chair shot that Bret hit Goldberg with at Slamboree '99.
Fuck me, Disco is such a blithering, mumbling goof at times.

He is all over the place. His voice register hits my ears pretty hard.
It’s like Kermit the Frog hit the crack pipe…
I had to stop listening because he just talks over everyone. Still love Konnan though!
@@super610He can't help it, he's always Luger-talking.😂
In Disco's voice: That's very disrespectful. 😂
On the one hand, says he's for the "little guy" wrestlers like Booker T. On the other, thinks he's more over than the roster and puts the belt on himself. Smh.
I take it as, 80% of the wrestlers didn’t put in the effort to get as much heat as he got, some just were going through the motions and collecting a paycheck while he was going out of his way to build their characters and get them over with a wider audience.
@@McSpitz Yeah, but you're in charge of creative and instead of nudging them where to go, you just flat put them down. Wow.
@@jimkon1479 Well, when performers are sitting on guaranteed checks with no motivation to work hard, they remain as checked out as they were in 1999 before Russo got there. Russo basically invoked that old saying "if you want something done right, do it yourself" So he went out there as the heat-drawing heel for a company that was dying anyway.
@@MrDust1981 And for him "heeling it up" and working with guys that had heat with him, still beat in the ratings by Monday Night Raw. "Oh they're talking about us" yeah but for the wrong reasons.
@@jimkon1479 Well yea, because he improved WWF Raw and left them with a foundation to carry on even after his departure. As for working with guys in WCW who had heat with him and Nitro still sucking, you still got to do your job no matter how lousy the situation is. A sports team might be in last place, but someone still must go out and perform their contractual duties. I can't believe folks are still struggling with understanding this in 2024.
Tony Khan is going to try to buy Vice simply so that the Who Killed AEW show is never made
😂😂😂
That's actually smart😂 I'm telling you, in 5 yrs...CM Punk is the tip of the iceberg
😂 Good shit

I don't get why Vince Russo says stuff like this and then acts shocked when he gets negative critics. Exactly what reaction was he thinking?
he didn't act shocked
@ninthlife1745 Russo acts like Stephen A Smith...talks sideways about people BUT, gets bent out of shape when the negativity comes back at him😂😂😂 SMH
Konnan was ON ONE the day they taped this show! LOL Zero F’s given. Thats why I love this show. He and Disco truly keep it 100.
I hate this smart mark narrative about a "creative lull."
WrestleMania just ended, they are letting what happened over the last 6 months settle into peoples minds, while new characters are being introduced, new situations are developing, and stories are being established, all while there is a real time complete overhaul of the entire presentation of the show.
This is the kind of absurd nonsense people who wish they were in the business say to sound like they have any idea of what is happening.... its call pacing... . anybody who knows anything about storytelling can explain exactly why WWE is going at the pace they are going right now.... by SummerSlam people will be buzzing just as much as they were at Mania.
I'm 38 years old. I love wrestling when I was really little but then I got back into it when I went to a show with my dad & Stepbrother & saw the Wolfpack. OMG I remembered the Konnan & Kevin Nash Big Sexy T-Shirt commercial!! Anyways I started getting so pissed when I would watch WCW because it seems like every single night there was some kind of shenanigans that would go on or a match would get interrupted that was a really good match, in the black and white NWO interfered with everything all the time...... And it would just piss me off that the Wolfpack wasn't getting pushed more because they were so damn over... and I thought Billy Kidman was a phenomenal Wrestler!
Vice must pay these guys a lot of money for these interviews because they shows cause so much drama. It must be worth it.
As WCW fan that went to most of the Atlanta shows, I felt even as a kid that the upper brass didn't listen to the fans. I remember Lex Luger being so over but have to settle for him in the midcard while Hulk was rehashing old feuds with Macho Man and Piper.. I hated Luger and Konnan in the Wolfpack because they were so cool on their own. Also felt like they didn't give enough time to Disco vs Dean Malenko.. I think i remember them facing at one of the Bash at The Beach or Spring Stampedes I attended and liking the match and build
Konnan & Disco should have gotten tons of screen time on the "Who Killed WCW?" Show.
Stop d**k riding! Who the hell wanna hear from Disco 😆 Hey we’re doing a documentary on WCW who should we get? Disco Inferno…says nobody
People bash the whole David Arquette thing but nothing will ever be as bad as Mike Tyson literally falling asleep at ringside during an AEW show
Probably didn't help that Tyson came out and said he didn't want to be there and only did it for the money
To be fair, it was an AEW show. I usually fall asleep too
@@christopherharte4741 didn't he say he's on/ was on a $600K per year deal?

Russo's entire point was that to this day people STILL think he's the same person in real life as his character he played on TV....which you can't say about most of that WCW roster
That's the thing, there was no character version of Russo, it was just him. That's how he was and still is.
Vince did have a lot of charisma. Just not a draw and not in the main even picture. Nobody's going to pay to see Vince Russo perform.
Agreed, you could make an argument that his promo skills could be top tier and it would have made him a great manager, but the go-away heat from his on screen character made me change the channel every time.
Yeah, he knows how to talk, but people DO NOT want to to see him talk on tv
Russo in real life IS the same guy from tv
Konnan’s so cool🔥 He speaks so honest and has a great insight. This Who Killed WCW doc is amusing viewing.
I ever knew Kermit The Frog co-hosted Konnan's podcast.
Excellent video
Russo came off so pathetic on that last episode.
“I was better than 80% of the roster”
“We needed ratings so I’d do it myself”
WHO THE HELL WAS ASKING FOR MORE RUSSO ON TV!?
And then to say he was hurt, well if you didn’t put yourself in that position to be on tv you wouldn’t be getting hurt. The lack of self awareness from him is ridiculous
I see why the wrasslers wanted to fucc him up in the ring. He's unbearable from just watching him. Couldn't imagine trying to communicate in person. Surprised nobody beat his azz. Corny shoulda legit smashed him with the tennis raquet!
There really is no defending Russo saying he was better than 80% percent of the roster. Even at it's worst WCW had one of the greatest wrestling rosters off all time. DDP, Flair, Luger, Macho, Sting, The Steiners, Goldberg, Hart, Booker T, Double J, Rey, Dr. Death, Mr. Perfect, Bagwell, Kanyon, Lance Storm, Hacksaw Duggan ect. Russo is out of his mind for saying such a thing.
@@ChristianEdwards-me9rm He said his on screen character was better, not that he was a better wrestler. 25 years later, everyone STILL thinks Russo is the guy he portrayed on TV in real life. THAT'S why he was a better on screen character than 80% of the roster.
@zachary_attackery He was a better on screen performer than zero percent of the roster. I hope that clears things up for you. Russo was a nobody and nobody wanted to see him involved whatsoever.
@zachary_attackery
I realize the context of what he's said. He's still dead wrong. I like Russo and listen to his show almost daily. What he said was still absolutely ridiculous.
this was good stuff.
Real talk, I don’t believe that the person who possibly invented the TNA Reverse Battle Royal could kill a wrestling company 💯
These comments are wild. David Arquette was champ, Vinny Ru was Champ, Vince McMahon was fn "ECW" champ. Its a TV SHOW. Get over it. It's not a real competition. Its a story. Things are done to draw ratings. The champion isn't gonna be the "best wrestler".... whatever tf that means.
Yessir! If people were drawn to 5 star wrestlers than Dean Malenko would've been a main-eventer. In fact, most main event performers are mediocre to trash wrestlers, but people pay to see charisma, character, stage presence, etc.
I am fan of Eric Bischoff and Vince Russo but it drives me crazy how Bischoff seems to have conditioned the public into assuming Russo deserves blame.
If anyone is to blame for the death of WCW, it's Bischoff. He paid wrestlers insane money, he gave them creative control. Vince Russo didn't make the contracts for anyone.

@@genghishank1 I wish I thought of that
Bischoff is a liar. The fact that marks see him as more creditable than Russo despite ruining both WCW and TNA and proof that wrestling marks are bigger m/r0ns than Disney shills.
They both deserve some blame. Why couldn't Russo, Bischoff, and Hogan cooperate and at least try to build WCW back up instead of arguing & backstabbing each other.
he gave ONE GUY creative control
I like Scott Steiner but I remember he said in an interview that people want to see people that look like him as opposed to smaller guys? I just remember thinking well I don't think that? or at least the majority of people that I go to school with don't either...
Got to give hogan credit when russok came in. He at least tried when it started. He put over mike awesome and vampire in pinning loses and lost to the wall. That never happened before. Plus he had a program with Kidman who was literally half the size of hogan and lost to him on nitro.
I think that Russo is so bored talking about this stuff that now he's just trying his best to trigger anyone he can
He obviously loves working the marks because they get so worked up about his presence.
@@wadelacour7630 it's working
Never forget that Russo’s ratings in WWE & TNA outperformed Bischoff, Cornette & Prichard, and he took all their jobs at least once. And Russo’s WCW ratings were no worse than anyone else’s in late stage wcw.
PPV buys tanked under Russo in WCW. So did ticket sales.
People will bash the Arquette thing but are silent on Katie Vick.
I still think Bill Goldberg will sign with AEW. There's no way all these giant contracts are being thrown around and he won't try to get a piece of the action.
Tony Khan is a money mark, he's there to be used
Go watch Busted open podcast episode with Goldberg
The spear was brutal.
Ha.
More confirmation about what a DB Goldberg is.
Russo also said on one hand he knew that Hogan was not going to work on day 1…then said if Bischoff wasn’t there he was 100% sure they would have had a great relationship,
When they air who killed AEW... Tony Khan will get all the credit 👍
If i hear the word "Bro" one more god damn time...
Disco talks like he's on Sesame Street
WCW refused to put over younger talent at that time so they all jumped ship and became WWE Champion like Chris Jericho, Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio as examples. The Giant Paul Wight was a transitional Champion yet he had a decent run as The Big Show and main evented Wrestlemania a year after leaving WCW. Booker T also had a great run in WWE as World Champion and as 'King' Booker. Vince Russo making himself WCW Champion was disgraceful and that Championship lost a lot of credibility because of that decision. So much bad decisions booking wise and politics played out in front of the World led to the downfall of that company. Disco and K-Dogg would know the real ins and outs because they were there.
Rey didn't jump to WWE. Rey debuted in WWE during the early yrs of the brand split as SD talent. This was well after the merger and the completion of the invasion storyline.
Vince Russo said I got my character than all of WCW wrestlers 😂😂
Disco tries so hard to be seen as intelligent. So much so that it sounds desperate. Learn how to speak clearly
disco selling betting platforms is hilarious
Russo is more talented than anyone in AEW, but not WCW.
Konnan has anyone said lately that you kind of look like todd barry the comedian
WCW had so many wrestlers around that time that technically he was better than 80% of the roster due to their being 30 million wrestlers .
Not even close

Disco and Konnan @3:16 and 5:58 When Vince Russo came in One of the Few Talents that I tune into WCW to watch was Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner.Whenever that Siren went on it was Time to hear what The Big Booty Daddy had to Say and His Genetic Freaks. His White Hot Heat Bone Crushing Promos. At the The Sopranos,Big Poppa Pump would've made a Out-of-This-World Tony Soprano Type Heel.Scott Steiner was a mixture of Stone Cold,Brock Lesner,Kurt Angle,Superstar Billy Graham,Right Underneath WCW's noses.Talking about Lost Opportunity and Missing The Boat Big Time🤔😕😠
I'm sorry, but for Konnan to say that maybe he and Disco should've been placed in higher profile fueds with the uppercard is a joke. I was a fan of Disco but WCW had him slotted correctly in the lower midcard and Konnan never resonated with me. If anyone should have been elevated, it should have been Raven, Scott Steiner pre-2000, and Buff Bagwell as a pompous, chickenshit heat magnet. Benoit, Ray, Eddie etc. didn't have much character until WWE but they were presented pretty well in WCW. And Booker T was booked well as an underdog, who worked his way to the championship, somewhat DDP-esque.
Vince Russo had some ideas that may have been good originally but needed tweaking. and many horrible ones that either Vince McMahon himself or someone like Cornette, Prichard or Patterson would've shut down in a production meeting, but in WCW he was unsupervised and even when Bischoff was brought back he didn't have Vince McMahon's big personality nor the authority to fix the mistakes. What Vince McMahon did in the Attitude Era was surround himself with a good team. Russo tried to do everything himself because he thought, and seemingly still thinks, he's such a great writer and performer even though he's clearly not.
well it's never cool to use old scars to create new wounds
Does Brett Hart like anything? He seems to know who to blame but never gives a reason.
It's actually very obvious what he said. He was better at his job then 80% of the roster at rhe time, and guess what? He was right! Keep in mind he didn't say wrestler. However, the dude had a shit ton of charisma and character, and he dam well knew how to generate heat. The problem was his writing and booking weren't up to par with his attitude era days. If anybody saw his work in RAW magazine and WWF TV from 97-99, you know Russo was capable of far better. Can't fault him there either bevauae he was clearly working with a gun to his head. He was basically forced to try to hotshot ratings asap. But his character and promo work? Not many topped him on either show and that's a credit to a dude who's only supposed to be a writer.
I agree. As a fan who watched the show, he was entertaining and I wanted to see him get killed. He generated legit heat and made me not like him. I actually continued to not like him until I heard him on Austin's and JR's podcast a few years ago and heard what he is really like. That is how believable he was. Also, outside of the legends, I thought many of the wrestlers on the WCW roster at the time were rather boring.
I thought his Fall of 99 booking was solid.
Cornette is going to love this
Yes and it is probably going to be a hour long video.

WCW was dying long before Russo got there. WWE was improving (quality wise), even while WCW was beating them in the ratings. WCW was making mistakes while they were still at their peak
I dont think Russo killed WCW since it was inevitability going to go away. But he definitely helped speed things along.

NEW BLOOD would have been a good angle for Shane McMahon
MILLIONAIRES vs NEW BLOOD was way too late and douche. It wreaked too much of a PUSH that should have infamously happened years prior instead of the constant glorifying of the usual talent.
Mike Graham would argue that SUCH TALENT is getting such push because viewers watch.
WCW was so damn chaotic and desperate at this point. WCW used and abused nWo and failed to evolve at appropriate pivotal points in time.
Most notably the evolution from STARRCADE 1997
Embarrassing clip. Russo is the reason Disco is relevant in 2024 and he's over here burying him.
Russo has an agreement with all of his colleagues from The Brand that he won't take it personal if they say things that are critical of him in other forums. That's why Al Snow is able to balance his other endeavors while still appearing on Russo's podcasts.
Disco killed being smart.
👍🏽
you know why Vince Russo was "better than 80 of that roster"? because Russo's booking devalued so many people.
Stone cold K. WCW
You can’t blame DDP he was just doing what was done to him he definitely had to earn his spot but you are right disco buff and you would have been better stars if they had gave y’all a push but time W. Didn’t want wrestling
Wcw 99 was already a shit show before russo got there. They started the year with the finger poke which was the final nail in the coffin. Goldberg was never the same without the win streak. Giant & Jericho both left. They turned sting heel which made no sense because he was still getting cheered. They had a terrible boxing match in a ppv. Bischoff was doing so bad he got fired. Hogan was doing his best to keep the belt hostage while giving terrible matches in the ring. They didn’t know what to do with Bret..
Now did russo make things worst, yes!! But wcw already lost the war before russo arrived later that year

It doesn't matter in the end WCW is gone. You don't know what you have till it's gone. Boy it was felt for so many years.
Vince didn’t say he was a better wrestler than 80% of the WCW locker room. What he was saying was he could generate heat better than them. 80% might be a little high, but I’d say it was between 50-60%. I personally liked the cussing and adult dialogue that Russo’s WCW had. I might be alone here, but when Hogan was being booked as (what I call) “Stone Cold Hulk Hogan”, and he was showing up on Nitro in his all black Charger, cussing like a sailor, beating everyone’s ass, I thought that was some of his best work in WCW.
