Then you just Do weekly programming w guys eventually siding w russos crew or Eric's crew. Many in the business - Flair, Nash, Bischoff, Russo and others have already stated that WCW was dead due to the merger and behind the scenes, nothing to do with Bischoff or Russo

    • @press_x_tojason
      @press_x_tojason Год назад +3

      Yes, I'm sure Bischoff and Russo defended Bischoff and Russo. But the merger was only going to kill it because it wasn't even a potentially profitable venture anymore. Which was due to the low quality of the TV product, which was attracting fewer than 1% of viewers to actually buy the PPVs, meanwhile the company had tens of millions of dollars in committed costs in the next few years.

    • @Wurzelknecht
      @Wurzelknecht Год назад

      The merger only meant that Nitro lost its TV slot on TNT. But the shitty booking made sure that the WCW brand was so run down, that no other station would be willing to pick it up, as they lost like 60 million in the last year alone. Had Eric been able to get a new TV deal, he and his media group would've bought WCW before Vince could. But since he couldn't get one, his financial backers backed out of the deal and Eric was forced to let it go.

    This was one of the more interesting parts of WCW history, especially with the reboot of WCW. Unfortunately the concept of that was hobbled by bad execution and mismanagement. The shows were a microcosm of the company at that point. I find myself watching old WCW as a guilty pleasure where as bad as WCW was, it was never boring.

    • @Simouno
      @Simouno  3 года назад +1

      @@Simouno One of the problems during the New Blood vs Millionaire's Club angle was that there was no kind synergy in the angle. It went the approach of Crash TV and throw guys out there with no long term plan. That's why matches were overbooked and the matches were short with trying to get as many from the roster on the TV show. For every one decent angle, there were 10 bad ones.
