It would be so dope if she was to convert her event space into a luxury doggy daycare that offers dog training! My motto is find something you like to do, fall in love with it, call it your passion and the money will follow! Her passion for animals (dogs in particular) is deeply rooted in her family history and that’s where she will feel the most fulfilled and the money will definitely follow!
I hope she sees this. This is an awesome idea.
That is an awesome idea
Awesome idea!
1000% Agreed! She can have doggy bday parties & kids parties with puppies, and partner with a support dog therapy service and offer the service out of her facility for families that can use the service out of home! She can probably access grant funding to accommodate the therapy dog service to0! I truly hope she sees these comments. @socialproof
I understand this young lady. When you rely on income, sometimes, you can lose the passion for it. She wants to continue to love dog training, which is why she doesn’t want to rely on income from her passion.
I totally understand what she’s saying. She doesn’t want to lose the passion for what she loves by making it a “job”.
This was good. I definitely agree she should follow her passion and she can do very well because she's so good and passionate. The sky is the limit! Wealthy clients, tv show podcasts on and on, online portal trainings. So many need her help!!
I am Jayla and Jayla is ME! I too have an in home dog business that became very successful and after I had my son last year, I was a SAHM and I realized that it wasn’t for me anymore. (Dogs are no longer my passion!) I have SO many ideas and my husband is super supportive but once I start the hard work I fade away. I too am inconsistent with things that I start and stop. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve started and stopped my t-shirt line and podcast. This conversation was super insightful!!! Jayla you got this girl!!
I can resonate with being a housewife. The great thing about it is you can build a business with no pressure of home bills however because you don’t have the pressure it can make you not go as hard. Thats when the passion and strong habits come into play. You have to work your business even when you dont want to
The last 10 minutes was everything 🙌🏽💯🔥👊🏽
As a husband and father, I love that David is challenging her to think about the implications that this venture could have on those relationships. Also, I think she is underestimating the amount of time she has available -- being a wife and mother and entrepreneur, she's not going to have time to train anyone's dog for a while, if at all moving forward. So her business has come at the sacrifice of the hobby she very much enjoys.
I really enjoyed this conversation! I feel like myself and a lot of ppl need to work through things like this. I think her fear is failing at her passion. I get that completely and it’s what has me stuck.
I don’t know if I agree that fear is always driven by some inherit lack or inability to do a thing. Insecurity can bring about fear and can be based on something completely irrational. So, fear is not always based on something that even makes sense.
Dropping gems in this one. The example about building the rooms out and getting the feeling to change is very real, but we must persevere 🙌
I recently got out of a 3 year commercial lease after only 4months(by the grace of God).
Re-READ your lease! Make sure you have an exit clause or your landlord would be willing to let you out early without penalty because they could say you owe the entire 4 years based on the contract.
Hi. Why did you have to terminate the lease?
That’s a video I would watch ❤
@@FoougieTV I wanted to downsize both physical space and financial overhead
I love this series the most
I wholeheartedly understand where she’s coming from regarding not wanting to get paid for your passion. the moment people take for granted what you love to do it can turn you away from your passion. Like my business I make 3d Tshirts. I decided to teach people, people would literally burn me out to where it took away my passion and it’s like okay i wish I never did this for money. I slowly starting to get my passion back for it.
🎯 That’s why I decided not to pursue photography as a profession.
Really enjoyed this conversation. This is thinking exercise to apply to any idea you may have or simply a businesses plan.
David I love when you grill the individuals that come on the hot seat, especially when they may not have the experience in other fields or similar fields to handle pressure that comes in the longevity of entrepreneurship.
Best to her. I'll check out her event space.
You're a good mentor.
Thank You
Good breakdown!!! I saw myself in her situation as well!!
Really.. How so?
I needed to hear this conversation. Felt like you were talking to me. I’m answering the questions like I’m her. Thankful god lead me to this video 🥲
I think she’s saying she wants to be where Oprah is, making money, yet being more of a humanitarian who is still a business woman in a non-profit with the goal of helping people more than being driven by the money b/c money is no object. Just like Oprah.
What’s so hard to understand about that, David?
1. From what I’m hearing, I think she needs to sit and really come to terms with if SHE really wants to be an entrepreneur or is her desire based upon the fact that she grew up in a family of entrepreneurs and desire it because of that.
2. I understand her feelings. She doesn’t want something she loves so much to turn into something she hates. Dog training is probably kinda something she holds sacred. When you turn your passion into a business it loses its sacredness. It now becomes something you have to meet the needs of people with and some hobbies are just for our own peace.
3. I think she can have what she wants if she turns her event space into an animal safe haven or animal sanctuary. She could maybe rescue dogs FROM a shelter, train them, and then sell the dogs or adopt them out BUT have her clients undergo a preliminary required training to successfully home the dog. Then she can do monthly check ins so that things can be caught before the owner gets frustrated. She has the power to create the kind of clients she wants to work with, she just doesn’t know how to structure her business that way. She can contract with the local shelter so that instead of euthanizing a dog that been there to long she can train them. She can even get high school volunteers who are thinking about being vats and what not that could use her business for hands on experience. She can have college students who want to be vets to intern for her. Like sis can really have what she wants. She just can’t see it. I hope she reads this comment.
I think she wants to be able to have the lifestyle she wants through passive income. So just getting over the fact that she’ll need to train some people would open doors. Then, she could still choose the clients she wants
Man she is me and I am her, the whole thing, everything she was saying about what her fear is, but the part where she was saying she don’t want dog training to be her income driver. She’s passionate about dog training but sometimes when it becomes a job you sometimes lose passion for it which she don’t want so she would rather do it as a non profit
I totally get this woman. I think she just needs to keep working on why she feels like this. Something will click for her. Giving me ADHD vibes though... that may be the missing piece. Really you cant move forward if ADHD is running rampant in your brain. Just a hunch...
She did really good! ❤️
Yes she did
Shands, don’t act like you don’t have a hobby that you do purely for fun and not for $$$, you play basketball and don’t get paid for it.
His point was yes he has hobbies but if someone offered money for it he wouldn't turn it down. She has to have grace with allowing herself room to make an income from the things she is passionate about even if it is a hobby
You can also make contracts for discruntal clients after our third session and you haven't done 123 w proof we have to wnd said contract.
Very hard to watch. I try its very difficult. Am moving on to another guess. She just doesn't seem has if she really ready for what she saying.dont have the patience.
I thought I was the only one...
🔥🔥🔥
🙏
Dave is way nicer to pretty people 😅
I think it’s her confidence. She lacks a lot of confidence in her skill and passion because I wasn’t getting anything from this conversation because she was so like David said in the cloud.
Very
I’m
So confused. Petstylist of 12 years with multiple certificates in other aspect of the dog industry here … why would you not use your passion to set a Precedent In that field especially training .Make them understand the importance of the training and consistency. the value of your companion being the best they can be is equal to no amount of money but let’s break this down in years . How much do you charge for a session divide that by the life span of the dog … guess what the math will make sense on their end more than yours . Also not charging will not make clients appreciate you …this may be tough to say if you’ve been in this field a long time
You know the clients that take this serious typically pay , stop thinking in lack ….. this is your time to shine especially if you’re in Atlanta especially dealing with personal clients
And then to say she doesn’t want to teach people means SHE DOES NOT WANT TO BE A TRAINER YOU ARE TRAINING THE HUMAN NO MATTER WHAT. ( if a trainer says this run ) first learn MORE about your craft running your own dog business would be a little
Too much right now based off what you’ve said here , especially
If you’re handeling aggressive dogs . The event space may be a much safer option
She look a lot like Aaliyah and Ashanti
You could do it donnie and dave❤
