The fact that the 2nd opponent used swords dance and quiver dance makes this so much funnier

Fun fact, Dancer also works on Volcarona’s Fiery Dance. Considering it also has Quiver Dance, this is very funny
Who will it target though?
@@dizzyheads I believe it targets a random opposing Pokémon. It’s been a few weeks since I did this build, and I only used it a few times, so it needs some more experimenting. Definitely worth looking at tho.
what about petal dance?
edit: nvm i commented too early that literally happens in this video LOL
I use that strat. Pom Pom oricorio and volcarona 2 special sweepers both w quiver dance, and 2 buffed fiery dances and a hurricane/revelation dance per turn is insane
And there's Baile Style, which is Fire/Flying, so it can resist Volcarona on top of that!

People just have to start paying attention, the muk was only using dragon dance when your pokemon used quiver dance, and it CLEARLY said dancer each time.
They can also check the info log. I remember first getting into showdown and getting absolutely wrecked by a ferrothorn with toxic, leech, helmet and that ability that works like the helmet. I had no effing idea of why I was the one dying after attacking him
Iron barb + rocky helmet is pretty nasty on a physical wall like ferrothorn, but yeah. If they pay attention also I think either data! or !data (pokemon info you need to look up) tells you everything about it lol.

Pretty cool that you can have Muk passively buff its speed and attack stats, when coupled with its high defense you're basically invincible on the physical side. Absolute unit unless you're up against a sand team ;)

Power of Alchemy does not seem like something Pokémon would name an ability
I’ve never heard of it before this so I’m not too sure
It’s a thing, it’s Alolan Muks hidden ability. I remember since I was looking up some stuff for it since I had it on my team for a Pokemon sun team and saw it on the different sites I visited it’s hidden ability was that. Another Pokémon has it as well, but I can’t remember who
The ability notably belongs to Alcremie.

@@nohobo23 I remember that
To be fair, in the fail round, it isn't your fault that your opponent had three ground types and three Pokemon that have a double weakness to ice. Under normal circumstances that wouldn't be a good team. It just happened to counter yours
Half of the team countered ice so not really that bad of a team
It’s not really that bad of and bad team
That guy using a Hiker skin was appropriate tho lol
I still don't know why the last guy didn't protect at all from his own area moves with the likes of Excadrill and Tyranitar and just kept hitting himself with them...
Yeah, if anything give the Excadrill a Weakness Policy (I think that's in gen 7) with sand rush it should be OP
The speed drops weren't helping either lol

I love all the weird/fun strats you use in your videos. I really hated facing this one NPC in Indigo Disk DLC because they had 2 dancer oricorio and I usually set up on turn 1, so back to back revelation dances was brutal for me
Greates way to counter this startegy is to use lunar dance.
Popping the Heatran's balloon before the EQ came out was perfect.
Way back when Partners in Crime was the Other Meta of the Month (doubles where both active Pokémon shared abilities and movesets, basically this was the only thing I hyperfixated on doing. Oricorio and its partner basically both did a dance every turn or alternated dances and protects. Not like I was winning that much, I didn’t pay too much attention to the surrounding meta, but when I pulled it off, I’d just get a happy feeling inside. :P
So theoretically if someone were able to get wide guard on the dancer Muk and at least protect on his partner, one could be almost immortal while still attacking every turn?
Stall from hell
Wide Guard only protects from spread moves (things like Earthquake or Muddy Water), so that would fail if they start single targeting things.
Samjang is 100% a paid actor. No way he is THAT oblivious AND uses dance moves on multiple pokemon making the muk even stronger. Thats sus bro, very sus

By the Power of Fred, the Alolan Muk's Power of Alchemy is weird.
I like that it's name is spelt backwards. That amuses me greatly
And ahh power of Fred?
The power of fred beats all
Those opponents sure witnessed the power of fred.
... "Power of Fred". Also, I am going to have to experiment with this. This looks fun as heck.
I often see people running an Alolan Muk that gets Moody via it's partner Smeargle via Power Of Alchemy in Ranked
Reading is hard for some people. I haven't played a pokemon game past Gen 4 and you can clearly see in the battle text when Muk used its ability to copy the dancer ability.
Okay, Alolan Muk was already fairly great. Now I realize the extent of what he can do. Also Dancer is fairly amazing in its own right.
Ddance, Sdance, Qdance, Lunar Dance, Fiery Dance, Petal Dance, Feather Dance, Victory Dance, Teeter Dance, Revelation Dance, man theres a lot that Dancer can use.
Hell, even Aqua Step and Clangorous Soul works with Dancer for Arceus knows why.
I might have a new favorite battle partner for doubles in Scarlet, people wont expect this mess.
Oh man, could you imagine if Espathra with Opportunist got any Dancing moves? Hear me out. Imagine if Espathra got something like Quiver Dance, Muk already has Dancer so it gets the effect, and Espathra gets a second buff? Like a pseudo Geomancy.
I love muk xD he is a pretty interesting pokemon
I'm bewildered by this strategy good sir. Any smart people here in the comments, please tell me how this works.
Alolan Muk's ability is Power Of Alchemy, which copies it's partner's ability when its partner faints. Oricorio's ability is Dancer, which copies the effects of most moves with "dance" in the name, without using up its turn.
So a Dancer Pokemon would see its partner use Dragon Dance, or Quiver Dance, or something like that, and then immediately use the move too, but then still do its selected attack later in the normal turn order. Oricorio would normally do this, and Muk's Power Of Alchemy allows it to copy that ability when Oricorio is knocked outl.
Alolan Muk has the ability Power of Alchemy, which replaces itself with the ability of Muk's next ally that faints (naturally, this is only applicable in double battles). Its ally, Oricorio's ability is Dancer, which allows for it to use the same move that its ally does, should its ally use a "dance" move (again, exclusive to double battles). The resulting strategy is for Oricorio to go in as a suicide lead, letting A-Muk gain the Dancer ability through its native Power of Alchemy ability. From there, it can copy things like Dragonite's Dragon Dance or Comfey's Petal Dance. Hoped this helped, but I can still answer further questions :)
An additional note is that the Dance move can be copied if the opponent uses one, as seen when the enemy bellosom used quiver dance, and Muk copied it.
@@primordialsun swords dance too
@@svierrodcuppycake3655 Passimian's Receiver also works like Power Of Alchemy, but i guess Alolan Muk has more bulk and less weaknesses and thats why its better to use this strategy with it.
another strat similar to this is skill swapping dancer onto oranguru. oranguru can then use instruct to get 4 dance moves off on a single turn
Muk and Weezing are my favorite Pokemon so its great to see this. Ive been trying to include muk on a team somehow since picking pokemon back up again.
A shame weezing isn't out yet. Levitate weezing as a defensive wall is fun stuff! :P
Hitting a petal dance on a Mon with rough skin or rocky helmet might be the only I can think of that you can take damage behind a protect that isn't a generational gimmick weather or status.
This is so cool. Could this work with Passimian with Receiver as well or is Muk the only good user for Dancer?
Passimian's Receiver works too, but Muk has less weaknesses and is far bulkier, less chance of something going wrong.
Now hypotheticallly, if an ally shedinja hypothetically fainted turn 1 and the muk had an air balloon
pretty sure it doesn’t work, you have to use mimic entrainment on shedinja
Dancer works with Clangorous Soul and Aqua Step. Good luck sleeping tonight.
Attacking while behind a protect is pretty neat
I find it funny that Gastrodons apperant purpose was to make it a 2v1 in the 2nd battle.
