  • Today we are talking about Governor Paul Patton A few years ago, Governor Paul Patton agreed to sit down for what was supposed to be a five-minute interview with Pike TV. Today, we’re happy to have the opportunity to share some of that with you. We’d also like to note that the chapter on Governor Patton that was written by Sara George and included in David Deskins’ history on Pike County called Ginseng, Coal Dust, Moving Mountains is a wonderful resource that goes into much greater detail about his career.

I would dare to say today, that unpaved roads are in better shape, (as far as holes and bumps), than paved roads across the nation on the average.
Paved roads still win the the Dust category. "I do not drink officer. I'm just avoiding all the paved road rot."

The best paved freeways today, are also private turnpike freeways. They may be some of the best roads in the world that are over several decades old that are maintainers by any government. I praise this man for developing the coal industry as a private company. That is about it.
