I remember hearing her name, Bessie Arnold, a lot growing up in late forties and fifties.

I am Kenneth Hibbitts and my mother was Betty Sue Arnold the only child of Bessie and Kenneth Arnold of Pikeville. Kenneth Arnold was a vice president at Pikeville National Bank which is now CTBI. It was a delight to find this video about Bessie as I was 5 when she passed and was not aware of much of this information about her. I of course heard many things about her growing up from my parents Harold and Betty Sue Hibbitts and knew my great grandfather TM Riddle (granddaddy) and my great uncle John Paul Riddle (Uncle Paul). Thank you for making this video as it is heart warming to know that she was beloved and remembered so kindly.

Thanks for sharing this. She is certainly remembered fondly by a lot of people. If you have any stories you'd like to share or photographs that we may be able to display in the museum, we'd certainly be interested in that. You can contact us at tourism@pikevilleky.gov if so. But, either way, thanks for your wonderful comment.

If you are elected to protect our liberty, (the moral responsibility of our elected), what difference does it make if we elect a woman or a man? It matters what they think, not what genitals they have.
