The beginning is even more heart-breaking when you realize that Nebula has _never_ won anything in her life. That's why she kinda flinched when Tony said she won, and how she was surprised and briefly speechless. It was the very first time in her life she'd won anything!
bit more than that she's never won and there not be serious stake I.e. for the fun.
every time she's lost she got something taken away .. she played for fun and won and congratulated and nobody lost anything
the sadest part is that everytime she lose she get part of ther body removed like bruh thanos is just fucked up
I'm 50-50 about that statement. While I agree she may never have won anything, where Thanos was forcing her to compete is the case, I can believe she never won anything in her life; however she's alive AND one of Thanos' front-line warriors. So she must have at least won some of the time. I don't believe that Gamora was ALWAYS there beside her.
Nebula had some of the most beautiful character development I have ever seen in a movie series. With all of the spin-off's that they've made, I would LOVE to see one that starred Nebula and really expanded on her as she grew.
I always love when people complain about Hawkeye's vigilante mission during the time jump. What do you people think he did while he was working for Shield?
Yeah, people seem to forget all the killings Nick Fury and other SHIELD agents did in The Winter Soldier, or did they think they were "non-lethal piercing bullets" like Redhood's in Gotham Knight?

His weapon of choice is definitely a bow and arrows. These things are designed to kill. Sure, so a guns. But you don’t just pull a trigger, you must be willing enough to draw the bow, aim and then kill the target. Also, arrows can pierce through nullet proof wests.

Like okay so your not a scientist or a therapist or a comic fan, but you're confident enough in your view that the film is wrong in one of these areas without any background in the topics

Nebula being so gentle with Tony in the ship when she thought he was about to die hit me harder than the ending for some reason. She's come a long way.

I love the impact of Tony's story on Nebula, there really isn't a better person to help Nebula find her humanity than Tony, the guy who's been building robots since he was a kid. Ever since IM1 we've seen the depth of Tony's relationship with his machines. It felt fitting that after his time with Nebula, she was able to take such a drastic step to protect her family (by killing 2023 Nebula).

Being both made of metal, after endgame, they went back in time again to start a band called Metallica just so we know how heavy the metal was
True but let's not pretend that Tony alone did all that for her. It was her embracing her sisterhood with Gamora - more than Tony - that helped her to be able to kill her younger self. She WAS protecting Gamora after all. Not Tony.
i like how surprised she was when tony says "you won" like conceding meant nothing at all when compared to her background... it meant something horrific
No better person??? I have to disagree. While I'm not blind to the fact that being stranded in space - within a confined ship - Tony did indeed help her, Gamora hugging her instead of attacking her was THE major turning point. After years she finally received some genuine affection from her sister. Again, I'm not diminishing Tony's influence, but let's not pretend HE ALONE was the cause of her new empathy. Gamora tips those scales far more than Tony does.
Thanos is so cold he watched his own death and didn’t blink. He knew his original counterpart had won, and it didn’t bother him at all. What a G.
I really feel bad for Thor. In the spam of a few years (which was nothing for someone who had live 1500 years) he lost his mother, his father, all of his friends, his hammer, his eye, half of his people and his brother, and then he became a joke for everyone else. That's why I loved seeing him so happy for still being worthy of Mjolnir.
The line "i love you 3000" comes from Robert Downey jr.'s kids. They actually said that to him. Gives it even more emotional weight in the movie imo.
I love how that line -- "Get that rabbit!" -- proves that Thor calling Rocket a rabbit isn't just teasing. Asgardians must simply not be familiar with raccoons, so rabbits are the closest creature they know. 🦝🐰
They both start with "ra" followed by to constants. Easy mistake to make.

After the movie, it came to me that maybe on their planet, what we call a raccoon is not what he is called on Asgard.
I remembered the Guardians of the Galaxy where everyone was referencing Quill as a Terran and not human. So, some things have different names on different planets.
Apparently a horse is still called a horse on Asgard because Thor asked for one at the pet store in his first movie.

I like the way the opening with Clint's family is performed. Once Lyla disappears he turns in time to "just miss" seeing his family flake away; but if you have a decent HD TV or screen you can just make out the flakes of dust drifting.
Anyway, in a less talented actor they might have him jump passed confused and go directly into over the top grief. But Clint looks around first as though maybe his family is playing with him and you can hear the level of panic set in with each new family member he calls for. Like his brain is catching up to the realization that something is terribly wrong.

Best thing in this movie is the double sword reference to the Thanos Hostess Pie caper where he escaped with a load of Hostess Pies by twin bladed helicopter. That's canon.

What I love about this portrayal of Thor is that it's actually closer to the mythological version which the character was inspired by. All that's really missing now is the red hair, red eyebrows, red beard, and red eyes.
That said, the mythological version was known to have a gut on him. Still a strong muscle-man, but one hell of a beer gut. Dude could eat like four oxen on his own and drink like no tomorrow. Seriously, there was a tale of Thor drinking from this magic uh.. I can't remember what it was called, but basically the giant that gave it to him said, "it's admirable for someone to finish it in one gulp, common to finish drinking in two gulps, but no one's ever not finished drinking it after three gulps."
Thor ended up doing it three times and still couldn't finish the drink, but made a it recede quite a bit. It turned out to be the ocean (it's a myth, don't look into it too much). So while he failed in this task, still gotta remember, he caused the ocean to slightly recede with his drinking.
...I honestly forgot where I was going with this...
Shame you skipped Ant Man 2 & Captain Marvel which really should be watched before Endgame. :/

The part with Thor’s mom always gets to me. Wish I could jump back in time to talk to my mom one more time.
That's my favorite part of Endgame, with the possible exception of the opening scene where Barton loses his family. Barton losing his family set up the movie so well. Just in case anyone failed to remember what happened at the end of Infinity War, that scene was a dark reminder. And then Thor talking to his mom, just exactly what Thor needed. It was so well done, brilliant, heartwarming.
The most underappreciated line in the movie "He'll grow"
so the line in the elevator is a shout out to the infamous comic run that had cap turn into a secret hydra agent, but it's so well played by the actors, theyre all like "holy fucking shit, even cap is a hydra agent" lol

I think that Nebula winning the game with Tony was adorable, and sad at the same time. This is probably the first time she's ever won anything in her life, and she doesn't know how to respond.
Am I missing something? Was there a particular reason given for going straight from Infinity War to Endgame without watching Ant-Man and the Wasp or Captain Marvel in between?

A simple pinned comment explaining the decision to skip c.marvel and Antman 2 would’ve gone a long way to at least dissuade a portion of angry comments as well as perhaps not subjecting maple and or chad to as much blind criticism, which probably only serves to make them even more averse to continuing the MCU going forward. Even if people disagree, it at least helps people understand the motivation.
They don't care about the motivation. They're just mad we didn't do it how they woulda done it.
The motivation is it's two filler movies between part 1 and 2 of a story. It's that simple.
I filled her in on where Scott was trapped and who cpt.marvel was and we moved on to finishing the story.

Its a roller-coaster, your heart and head need to be 110% ready.

You forgot to watch the other movies after Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Captain Marvel, and then this. Avengers: Endgame. After that it's Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Though the reaction is great, it makes no sense to have not done Antman 2 or Captain Marvel first.
By her comments, Maple is clearly familiar with the events of both movies, so she has definitely seen them. Maybe there was a filming, editing, copyright, or other issue that prevented them from being uploaded -- either in order or at all.

Never really watched this channel but it seems like they are forced to do MCU reactions. Why didn't they just take a little break and do other type of movies, while occasionally sprinkling in MCU movies? Seems like a better option than just skipping entire movies. AntMan/Wasp is setting up Quantumania and Captain Marvel set up the skrulls.

Captain marvel (while I admit is less relevant to endgame) introduces... well Captain Marvel who takes down 2018 Thanos at the start of the film and almost kills 2014 thanos in the end.
It's disappointing but hey...man can do what he wants with his channel 🤷♂️
They justify it by watching this movie and then taking an indefinite break from watching marvel movies… then they move on, to other genres. Maple likes real movie movies, like fight club.. she even commented that marvel movies were fine but that is what she wants to be watching.

I like to imagine that Cap uses the mindstone on young Cap to make him forget the encounter (maybe even doing the same with the elevator dudes). This would be an important thing to do since he doesn't know (loki spoilers) that this timeline is about to be deleted; he would want to interact and interfere as little as possible, they all would.

Early in the movie Tony and Nebula play paper football together. Later in the movie Tony has to flick Ant Man accurately as part of their time heist plan.I appreciate small things in movies like that.

Was confused as to why you didn't watch ant man and the wasp or captain marvel. They aren't my favourites either, really don't like Captain Marvel, but they are worth watching once for continuity of story. There were some parts I would have loved to see Maples reaction to.

I’m less annoyed with the skipping movies but they way Chad is responding to everyone in the comments, really turns me off these reactions. I’m conflicted, the reactors are great but Chad might be ruining this channel’s reputation
Yeah, its almost like he thinks people are stupid if they like antman and wasp. I LOVED that movie. Sure its light, except for the tie in and thats what made it awesome. The whole point of reacting to mcu vids is the journey, and the just teleported. Kinda bad faith when you've invested in the reactions. They shoulda just taken more time, reacted to other things and spaced oit the mcu stuff. Im kinda done with this channel, I think.
After browsing past the comments, I think I'm gonna skip this reaction... skipping two movies to get to this one is like flipping to the end of a book to see the ending when you're so close to finishing it. No offense, but the Infinity saga is meant to be viewed as the sum of its parts, regardless of how sucky the other two movies were (Ant Man 2 was not sucky, btw).
