That's why re watching them is so beneficial, because you can access the story/characters from different perspectives. It's like watching Tony with his Dad. Parts in that scene may be considered more comedic, but if you lost you Dad, you probably are relating to it a bit more and are seeing it more serious than comedic, just like with Fat Thor. The beer that gets Thor on the ship is Tropicalia IPA by Creature Comforts - a craft brewery in Athens Georgia. I work for their distributor here in Atlanta. They had no idea their product would be so prominently featured (Thor is even visibly wearing their t-shirt under his sweatshirt - and you can see Thor with another of their beers earlier - including in the trailer).
Apparently while filming in Atlanta, the crew fell in love with the beer. They contacted the brewery and asked for some samples and t-shirt - and for a signed release. They didn’t think much about it.

There is a lager-dominant brewery here that does well, but even they were pretty much forced to start producing their once only occasionally-made IPA year-round because the public demanded it. You’ll find the actual brewers are rarely as crazy about IPA; their personal favorite styles tend to be crisper, cleaner styles (they are purer and hide fewer flaws)

I love how the MCU isn't afraid to show serious psychological and psychiatric stuff like PTSD and depression. Not only that, they show the characters actually dealing with it or even overpowering it. Jessica Jones with the scariest abusive relationship ever portrayed in a comic book media, Wanda with the Westview denial phase, Thor still being worthy no matter what, all that stuff is truly great. They are actually addressing the issues that make a character well-written. I really hope the next Spider-Man movie is going to be about the Venom symbiote but actually dark af this time, no Bully Maguire dance or Tom Hardy cringe. Venom was supposed to be an allegory for substance abuse and mental illness, they had to portray adult stuff like that for a while since the company policy on such topics was really strict at the time. They even had to drop the arc where Harry Osborn did drugs. That was around the same time when the DC Joker became a full-on clown for a long while with all the spray flowers and electric buzzers and whatnot. Venom is supposed to be like your intrusive thoughts and anger issues and stuff a lot of people have to deal with. Peter-1 is perfectly primed for that since he's at a point where he lost everything. He has no friends, no family, no college application, no job, no money, no Stark suits (Friday, Karen, and Edith forgor who he was), nothing. It would already be a great setup for a really dark depression storyline, add a little Venom to that and we have ourselves the perfect metaphor where Peter's internal battle transforms into an external battle against a regular physical villain. I really hope they go this route for one movie, maybe even an arc spanning Avengers or something. They could obviously try to top No Way Home by creating live-action Spider-Verse but it's not as cool when you already do that in the games and animated movies at the same time. I mean, there can still be a lot of hype moments like Flash becoming Agent Venom or something like that, but we need a long and brutal struggle.

The talk he has with his mum always gets me and the moment the hammer comes to him is so perfect because until it was in his hand he still didn't really believe he was worthy. And you can still be depressed an worthy.
