- I had been growing my hair out for 1 year and 4 months and I really the challenge and having a new look. However, my hair growth journey came to an abrupt end one Monday afternoon so I thought it was only right to make a video talking about why I shaved off my long hair.

Powerful message man! Glad that you're doing what's best for you and not what other people want. I've been growing my hair for a year now since last January. I usually always went for an undercut but my last haircut was horrible and I hated it so eventually instead of going to fix it and spend more money for the same haircut I just decided to grow it out because i wanted something different . So far it's been great and I love how different I look with longer hair so I'm going to be keeping it long for a while probably until I too get bored eventually

I can relate to this SO MUCH. For 12 months I didn't cut my hair. At the end of the year I was feeling ugly, I just didn't. I had eczema on my head and no product would make me not itchy. So I cut my hair. I am so happy with the progress and my skin is much better, like if it could breath. I relate to EVERYTHING you said.

Im only 19 and I grew my hair out at the end of school and had it for 1.5 years, I basically always wore it in a manbun all day everyday, which was great and I loved the style but honestly, I just got bored of having to tie it up every time and I never really wore it down, so I cut it all off and got a short disconnected undercut midway this year and I gotta say its so much easier and manageable, so I could relate a lot this video and Im only young so I still can grow it out in another couple of years if I want to

bro i’m in the same exact situation rn. thinking about cutting my hair after 2 years of growing , gonna be 20 in a few months. i love my hair because it got curly, when i had my hair short it was straight . definitely really considering cutting it because it annoys me when i sleep and gets hella puffy on some days , but know ima miss my long hair. but you’re right we have plenty of time to grow it back

Your hair looks good either way, to be quite honest :). I grew my hair a few years back and I had the same reason as you. And I also had the same reason for cutting it although I did not shave that short. I can see it in your face that you really like your haircut, you seem happier (idk).

been growing mine since June 2019 and it's been a rough journey, I definitely hated the awkward stages and contemplated cutting it then and there, but persisted instead. Definitely still annoying from time to time when I have it down but I've come too far to just stop so I just have to keep going until I really know what it's like to have LONG hair. that's EXACTLY what i've been doing and what i'm gonna do. It's been almost 2 years that i've been growing my hair, and its frustrating, soo many awkward stages and now my hair looks cool but I still want to cut it off. My friends dont really want me to do that but those changes feels so good, i'll cut my hair short again in 1 or 2 months

Thanks for the video Harry. I've had my hair growing out since last fall and once it was long I realize that I don't recognize myself, so your point really resonates with me. Three weeks ago I woke up, without thinking much about it Igot myself a good pair of Wahl's and just shaved it all off and I've been so happy ever since.
Since my hair has been short I've been experimenting with fading the sides to make them more in line with my hairline and head shape and I think I'm getting better at it. Do you have a few tricks up your sleeve? A video about this would be great because I can imagine myself cutting my own hair for the foreseeable future (post-pandemic).
Back then your videos have helped me to get through the awkward-phase of growing out my hair and now it is refreshing to see that you've also cut your hair. Looks great!

Both styles suit you and at the end of the day it’s hair! You can grow it back whenever you want. I grew out my hair two years ago and when I got sick of it I also did a buzz and loved it. Currently, im growing it out again and I just passed the year mark

I tried growing my hair a few years back and it suited me but now that I gained weight a lot more I kept on cutting it short and keep on experimenting what I like

Women, friends and family always compliment me, even though back when it was in that weird phase they would always ask when was I going to cut it. 😄🙂

I can relate although I never passed 6 months of growing it out, I can't afford proper products for doing so and my hair is especially oily. I buzzed it to a 1 on top and skin fade on the sides 6 weeks ago. My hair grows slower so it is even more convenient and time efficient of keeping it short. I'm going for shorter bangs or a caesar cut or perhaps I'll maintain the high and tight as it gives off a cool army look. You look great mate.

Been growing my hair out for 4 years with random times wanting to cut it. Well my BP hit me start of this year and I neglected it hardddd corrrre and it is currently matted and tangled from being in a bun for months not doing anything but sleeping. I don't mind long hair, I've grown mine out for 19 months and im not planning on cutting it. So it kinda depends on the person if they can deal with frustrations, for me it's wearing a hat for me that helped the most

I've been growing my hair out for a little while now. This month marks 1 year since I cut the top and 7 months since I cut the sides. I told myself once I was able to put it in a bun, I'd seriously consider cutting it back to short again.

I’ve been growing my hair since start of 2020 and I started growing it wrong, I had a little bit of a top knot so it just kept bothering me how it was always long on top and short on the sides, the sides are finally getting long to the point where I can almost tie everything just the back needs to grow a little more, at times I think should I just cut if because ppl think it looks nice short but a lot of ppl like it long cause I wear it down sometimes, just gonna stick it through and I recommend if anybody has that problem to stick it through, btw you looked nice with long hair man, suited you

I personally want to grow my hair past my shoulders because I want to be more unique within my family and the town I live in. I personally never cared about what I looked like and this could give me the extra confidence I need to put myself out in the world more.

I usually don’t like it when people just get rid of hair, but it’s good for you because you actually like it better than hair that’s almost long and feel like yourself more, and it’s a good thing that you donated it and sorry for not realizing it originally.
So you buzzing your hair and feeling like yourself is the same as me keeping my medium length hair and getting at least some length gains for now and styling it how I usually do with either volume on the top (quiff/pompadour/brush up) or a fringe with volume, plus also trying other hairstyles to see what they look like, but mainly those 2 types of hairstyles.
My fringe is currently going down towards the bottom of my mouth and is almost 6”, and the bottom of my hair is a slight mullet because it’s almost 7” and goes down towards the bottom of my collarbone, but it’s obviously not long because it’s only long enough to go down to close to the very bottom of my chin if it was the front, and it’s not long until shoulder length, and that doesn’t mean that it’s long just because it’s lower down on my head.
And if my hair at the bottom was 3” and barely touched my shirt in the back when pulling it straight down, it would obviously be an undercut because it’s shorter then the top & the fact that it’s further down on my head wouldn’t make it a mullet ofc.

Here I used a 4 all over but now I do a fade round the back and sides and an 8 on top and I’m enjoying that at the moment.

If you aren’t enjoying something there is no point keeping it, even if it took you a long time to grow it. Cut it if it will make you feel happier. I did and I am so pleased I did and it’s been about a month since I did it. I have no plans to grow it again

Short hair gave my hair such a thick and fuller look, the longer my hair is, the thinner it looks and it has been making me so self conscious, and i am only 4 months into growing it out and i honestly dont know if i should cut it off or not
Shaved it off and went with a crew cut, dont regret it at all

You don’t sound like you are ready to cut it. I knew I wasn’t going to regret it and I wanted to cut it. I wasn’t worried I would miss it either. You don’t sound like you are at the same point so I would keep it growing for the time being and see how you feel further down the line
