The trailer gave me a bad feeling of "look at the colorful over the top cgi, the movie will be awesome just for that". God Eddie Murphy cant be topped by simply blowing money into cgi
The cinematography looks so freaking artificial in the trailer too, i was shocked when i saw the 175 mil dollar budget of this movie, i mean this movie could be done with around 75-100 mil tbh, but i speculate in that 175 mil budget, 60-75% of the money was only for casting Downey.
For real. The lack of dialogue in both trailers was a giveaway sign that there was something wrong with it. Either the story was uninteresting or the dialogue was bad. Or both.

Fun Fact: A lot of the most critically mauled aspects of the film such as the infamous dragon farting scene were the result of Universal’s reshoots, who felt the film should be more kid-friendly and sillier, with Gaghan's cut said to be more mature than what we got. Sadly it's another case of Universal interfering with the film and messing it up. I would have LOVED to have seen Gaghan's cut. EDIT: Just found out that the dragon scene was Robert Downey Jr's idea. And that the original idea was for Downey to pull out a boulder-sized stool instead of bagpipes. @@kevinfry3642 I like him in a bunch of movies before he was Iron Man, like the zodiac, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, due date, the singing Detective, Sherlock Holmes and Tropical Thunder just to name a few that I can think of. But everybody has their preferences. you might not like him but I think he's kind of funny and a cool actor and he does seem like a nice guy compared to some of the people in Hollywood today.
And on top of that I watch a shitload of movies. I like good movies and bad movies but I don't know what that really has to do with it. I was just saying that it sucks that this movie sucks and I was kind of hoping better from him maybe it was just a paycheck for him I mean I don't think you would need it after all the Marvel movies but whatever and I was just stating that I can't wait to see what he does next and kind of wish it was another Sherlock Holmes or something but like I said everybody has their own likes and dislikes I guess.
I’d like to see him do more small-scale dramas, like The Judge or Zodiac (The Judge is a very underrated movie IMO)

Downey is pretty expensive. Another example is Far from home being almost the same budget as homecoming. Homecoming wasnt as great as Far from home action wise but most of the budget was because of Downey
SHSL Hope and Light Homecoming is way better than far from home. Bad take.
Quite a few big name actors were in this, and consider all the animals they did full CGI on. I don't recall a single animal in this movie that wasn't cg.
Cgi gets worse the better the tv resolution becomes.

He came across stories of a particular Welsh druid (name escapes me) and he was captivated by him. I appreciate him trying though, I think he just needed more time to get it smack on and it's a shame really.

Fun Fact: A lot of the most critically mauled aspects of the film such as the infamous dragon farting scene were the result of Universal’s reshoots, who felt the film should be more kid-friendly and sillier, with Gaghan's cut said to be more mature than what we got.
Sadly it's another case of Universal interfering with the film and messing it up. I would have LOVED to have seen Gaghan's cut.
EDIT: Just found out that the dragon scene was Robert Downey Jr's idea. And that the original idea was for Downey to pull out a boulder-sized stool instead of bagpipes.
As much as I hate poop jokes, I think the stool idea is still bad but compared to the bagpipes, it’s doesn’t sound so bad now.
