I still like creating and completing things. Just not rushing so much to do it. I think this channel does a lot of good in telling us to slow down a bit and enjoy small moments so that we're not so tempted to strive to stress ourselves out by trying to get everyone's attention by being the best at everything.
Yes, it is very liberating to be told that there is nothing to strive for! Especially if I am in a non-striving state myself, and my voice communicates this quality.
Hello. As a doublebassist I know about Alexander technique for quite a long time, but I never related it with composition and creativity. That's quite an interesting fact. As a composer myself I understand what Rockey feels and mostly it's because of our work ethic. It seems to be bad work, if it feels light and easy, but actually the best thoughts come up, when you don't think about, as taking a walk etc. So I think what is difficult here is to get out of your way and let creativity flow. And what I think after I have seen this video for several times, which is very inspiring, is that we misunderstand physical work with mental work and we try to apply the same principles for mental work, when we do for physical work, especially creative mental work. Maybe there is also some fear of letting go and be yourself? Maybe she has to compose music, she doesn't like and that's quite difficult even when you think that composition is a kind of craft, it's still a inner work which have to be done. Thanks for this video and I will try to apply what you said for my own work and well-being. Will also have a look to the other videos. Thanks for sharing and Greetings from Spain, Michael
love it, thanks for sharing! Recently I've been paying attention to my voice during self-induced relaxation hours and it felt very good and I always promise to myself to be in that state all the time and speak with others in that relaxed state more. Hard to achieve, but by time it gets better (I assume). Also recording my voice often helps a lot. The hardest part is when others expect you to act or speak in certain way and you are afraid of being in a new territory of yourself. But of course, most of it is just in the mind and old habits that are hard to bend. Btw, if possible, would be great to see more musicians among your videos, perhaps guitarists, pianists and so on.
Are there like, specific angles, and such that we should have our bodies at? Like what degree forward or back we should lean, what degree of angle should our chin be from our chest. All of these videos, hands always seem to be almost around the neck with the webbing between thumb and first finger directing the chin up. I rarely ever see the hand move, as if every student has their chin in the wrong spot, at the wrong angle. May be if there were hard numbers, specific angles, to know about, we could better feel our bodies getting into those positions.
Don't worry about angles and positions. You are designed to be ok with a range of movements and positions. It is much more about being free from unnecessary tension.
Thank you mister Kingsley :-D I very much enjoyed watching your video as always. Even better in fact as I could hear the pupil better. What a pity that you had to edit out some part of the experience.

Sounds good! Very happy to share some work in Manchester. And I will take a trip to Old Trafford at the same time!
Thank you so much for this video Anthony, you uploaded it just before my birthday. Feels like a little birthday present to me.
Happy birthday!
Can we have more of these please? 👍
Yes!
She actually looked stiff and stressed when she started. By the end, you could see she was much more relaxed and calm.
I love these videos!

Nice to see a new vid!!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Another fascinating demonstration. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I would pay money to have an audio of you just going “heels….bend the knees….heels….”
perhaps with an occasional “there’s nothing you have to achieve right now.”

I would be happy to work with more musicians. I take them as they come!

i wish anthony could explain what he was doing with his hands on the back of the neck of the lady and the purpose
Good question. I am communicating a quality of surrender and freedom
Does she seem to stand with pelvis forward?
Well observed!
Film closer please
Yes, I will do next time
A lovely session, it's a shame the multiple mid reel ads interrupted the relaxation.
Happy you enjoyed it. And sorry to hear of that the ads interrupted your relaxation.
I write music but I can't if I am calm or at peace. I have to feel some form of urgency going on in my mind.
Urgency is fine as long as it does not include immobilisation or freeze.
Finally Tony Blair reuploads
Hope you enjoy it. Anthony
Thank you mister Kingsley :-D

My pleasure! And actually, the finished item was pretty much every moment.
Well. May I’m strange but I enjoy to watch how you set the pupils on the table and how you get them off the table. ;-)
OK. Next time I will keep this element in!

composer!? talented woman😊
Alexander technique: reminds you not to treat your body as if you’re pushing it like a work mop across the landscape of your life.
Good to see were back with chairs. Saw an alexander video with a table and that was just weird
I got fired from my job for practicing Alexander Technique.
That's the problem. You are not required to practice it!
