I picked up a Taurus PT99 in 1990 that was made in 1986. I used it until the late 1990s after acquiring a PT92 which I still own. Both have served me well, having zero failures or need for service. I have since purchased most of the firearms sold by Taurus and again, have had no need to use their warranty service, though I have called Taurus support with questions and have received prompt answers from them. In total, I've been using Taurus firearms for well over 30 years.
For decades, I have owned a Taurus PT 92 AFS. It is the only stainless steel handgun that I own. I primarily use it when I must shoot in wet conditions. It is a great gun for a reasonable price.
the only reason I haven't got the Taurus PT92 is because they have not implemented an optics cut version yet... the PT92 and the original Beretta 92 are the same pistol... They are 100% compatible, the only difference is the materials use to build them, Taurus is known to offer great prices for great pistols and revolvers, however when it comes down to preference, is up to the user. In 1980, after Italian arms manufacturer Beretta had completed its contracts to produce firearms for Brazil's military, Taurus purchased Beretta's Sao Paulo manufacturing plant along with the tooling, technical drawings, and work force necessary to produce several different pistol designs.
a really good knockoff I should say otherwise. As a berreta 92FS owner you're just paying more just for the brand. Specially during these hard times no one will judge you on what you have. Nonetheless the PT92 it's more than a great gun. And for 400$ i say you made the best choice 👌
bad rep came from long time ago both beretta and taurus had a lot of bad locking lugs and the PT 92 is the upgrade of the original model I have a 92 & 99 can not beat the frame mounted safety enjoy
Enjoyed the video.. I have a Pt-92 myself and love it. Only thing I hate is the factory mags. Mec-gar mags are way better, IMO. .The surplus Beretta you showed looked awesome. Did you Cerakote it?
Yup I did Cerakote the Beretta. Had a fun time redoing it. Love Berettas .. Ill have to check out the Mecgar mags for the PT92. Safe and happy shooting
Good looking pistol! I have two questions. I) where did you order the grips? 2) What type of polish do you use to keep it looking good? Thanks for the video!
You’re very welcome. I got the grips on Amazon and I use these stainless steel microfiber cleaning cloth. You can also get on Amazon. They work really good. Keep it cleaned up and nice.
Its a bit dirty but my PT92 shoots it just fine. A lot of folks use it. Its not my first choice or second but if thats all there is then use it, just make sure to do a good clean and lube afterwards. Happy shooting

Ive also had zero problems with mine as well. Happy shooting
@@tmcdaniels2000 It is not a knock off. That betrays you for a newbie with Taurus history.

indeed it is, happy shooting
I have a blued PT92 Taurus, bought it 30 years ago and the grip panels are the same as yours. Also have a 1 year old. Fantastic weaons.
better looking as in eye candy, more accurate and better than any Beretta made in the last two decades.

congratulations from Brazil.
I fell in love the first time I seen it.
The PT 92 is a perfected version of the Beretta. Its an actual better gun and cheaper.

Ex-fuckin-actly
Just got mine , can't wait to go to the range
Enjoy, and happy shooting
Man I love the pt92afs it's there flagship gun!
Fantastic weapon. I own 2 of them dating back 30 years.
I agree.
I had that exact one. I loved it other than it being picky on ammo the way it would eject rounds, it was prone to jamming.
I haven't had any issues with mine. Its taken all kinds of various ammo, no problems.
Do you use proper lubrication on the slide? Do you manage recoil properly?
I love the Tarus PT 92 and Berreta my all time favorites
Beretta makes a stainless steel version of the M9. Its like double the cost of this.
I love one of those but I just dont have the budget for it.
Guns galore is about 15 minutes south of me
I got one at auction for 400,has silver grips haven't fired it too much yet but it handled good when I put About 30 rounds through it
looks just like mine minus the rail. mines a little older, pre-rail.
That's one nice looking pistol.

I slapped some checkered cherrywood grips on mine and blued the barrel
I need 3 for left handers
Nice piece
thanks
Are these still available? I want to get one
Everywhere I look this is out of stock. Just keep looking. Gunbuyer had them in a month or so ago
@@tmcdaniels2000 I have one these in Brazil, here is so easy to find in the stores.
@@gilliardcarvalho5431 Ill bet, good guns in my opinion.
What should the barrel front play be in the slide?
When the slide is in battery ready to fire there should be zero play. When the slide is pulled back there is a little barrel play
How do you feel about TulAmmo 9MM That's all I can pick up by me.

What did it cost?
400
Loved your video why some people give bad name to Taurus brazil
