A show of strength would have ended this weeks ago, it would be over and in the past. Weakness means you get walked on until you grow a pair.

It’s week 8 of the spring quarter. A quarter is 10 weeks. It’s probably just students looking for excuses to get easier take home finals, or get finals cancelled all together.

Why didn’t the university already have a plan for what their next step was going to be?

i will get hate for this but it’s true- in the united states we are free. we are able to dress how we want, we can share our beliefs. we are not forced to wear hijabs, we are not silenced. the palestinian protesters are not just “speaking out” they are putting themselves and other students in danger. one of your dog whistles reads “from the river to the sea, palestine will be free” is designed to make jewish students feel maximally uncomfortable while still having plausible deniability that they are not being anti-semitic. police force is not used to “silence” us, it is used to protect us. if someone were to break into your house, who would you call first? it is also important to address how israel is not innocent either. their blockade in gaza had caused many humanitarian issues. i do not stand for israel killing innocent people but i do not defend hamas/palestine either. people in the us, including myself and you, live a very privileged life. we have access to schooling, we have a strong economic system, high quality healthcare, and robust infrastructure. the reality is that in the us we are free. both sides of the war have committed horrible atrocities, i will not deny that. instead of hoping that one side “wins” why can’t we try to end the whole conflict? the reason i added quotation marks is because no one truly wins a war. people get killed, people lose everything. we are privileged people, we need to use that privilege for good.
