Well what i do to have control in the classroom is to be quiet and letting them know that Im observing and evaluating them. When They notice that Im quiet and not saying anything, they one by one start to Sit down. When one of them asks me, why Im not doing anything, i just say, when All of you are quiet i start teaching otherwise Im not beginning. Hey! That works. And Remember to keep your own emotions under control, you send them a message
Works sometimes. I have been teaching for almost 15 years. This all hinges on the kids. Not every group responds to silence. I have had to develop a number of tactics. Silence doesn’t work in my current situation.
If you are always leading a constructivist classroom, there may be noise so I agree with this
I agree, kids are smart, once they know how teachers are and the teacher's pattern of teaching they go back to making noise again. haha
Maybe you have shown them some weakness and that’s why They dont react to your silence. When you are quiet How is your face? Dont show any sign of anger or worriness. And dont even think what others teacher are thinking of you at that moment, only focus and being not emotional. You’ll see results
@user-dm6ul9pz8r I don’t worry or get angry. They have gone three years with principals who did not discipline them. They have learned how worthless the discipline at the school is. They are unafraid, violent, crude and cruel. They have been taught by inaction that teachers are powerless. And who are we kidding? We are.
I see.
I absolutely agree with you 😊
thank u so much. All these techniques had been covered in a teacher training which I had had through my school.
As a teacher who are struggling to control my class. Your video is really help me.
I agree
Thank you Sir for sharing this to improve my classroom management
Love your presentation. It is so hard being a teacher now. Thanks. It was so helpul!
The more you speak unnecessarily, the more the class gets loose. Teacher should maintain a strict balance b/w being friendly or being abusive.
I agree
But how???
But how? It is hard to not be yourself (friendly) because you are teaching
Me as a strict teacher for 8 years
@@lovinaogundejiI'm the opposite, it's hard for me to change my image/behavior from friendly teacher into strict teacher
I love the Secret Agent idea. I’m going to try it
Well, you have to break them in the very first day, establish who's the boss and then be diligent in maintaining it that way. I learned it the hard way.
Thanks sir for sharing this video.
Wow! Thanks a lot for the advices! Being a teacher this was the biggest nightmare for me, plus the school head would b accusing u that what sort of teacher are you, that u can't control the students 😢....This video is soo helpful😊...Thanks man!
where are you from'?
@@franciscoivhanildoivanildo2584 Pakistan
Yes.
The agent card was fun. Try it tonight at my class
Thank you so much for sharing this idea, Sir! this would surely help me with my practice teaching journey!
Wow, thank you so much for the tips
Thank you for you video on How to quiet a noisy class. I am going to try your suggestions. I believe this will work.
Thank you Aldrich. Love your presentation and tips. I needed some help with this.😊
I agree
Good strategy for effective classroom management.
Wow I'm so impressed with the way you illustrate everything.... it makes everything very clear and easy to relate from. I'll apply these strategies in my classroom. I'll be doing teaching practice in term 3, I'm a final year student teacher. Thanks a lot for sharing these wonderful tips
I agree
Thank you so much for the tips and greetings from Peru, we will apply these awesome ideas :D
Amazing! 🤩
Secret agent idea is 👏
Thanks for sharing these valuable tips❤
veryyyyy informative❤✌🏻
I love Secret Agent!
Superb! Excellent presentation!
I like the secret agent!
thank you so much ❤
Love it! Thank you! I use call and response a lot but the silence last less than 5 minutes 😢
Amazing idea!
Thank you sir...❤🎉🎉❤❤❤
I am gonna try the secret agent😊
So helpful thank you
thank you, Sir...I'll apply those ideas to my set of learners now...👍👍👍💖🌹
I agree, great video and information provided but it is important to establish these strategies the first day and stick with it. Kids do so much better with consistent boundaries. I have been in different classes with a different teacher but same kids. If the teacher is inconsistent and doesn't reinforce, the students act out. The Same kids with a teacher that has great classroom management skills are so well behaved and are not acting out like when they have a teacher that allows anything to happen.
Yes
90% agree. Epscially, the more you fighting them back, they more they wont listen to us. But different, when we give them time to release their anger or emotion, they can cooperate with us
Thank u so much sir for sharing .
I just started teaching this year. I don't have much experience in classroom management. makes things worse I got the most naughty class in the entire school. definitely going to try these and see if can i make any changes.
So how is it going? I have the same problem as you?
Me too my scholl teachers use stick to beat them and scream top of their voice to silence them , I’m just confused bo too t stick and go on same way or try differently
@@Ashintha325 we can’t beat them, we are new. They can do a video of us and we will lose our job forever
@@Kristina-dh1qdunfortunately, some states still allow you to beat them and get no punishment for it. Situations like this has happened before and still goes on to this day. You would definitely lose it if you did it in a state where you're not supposed to (ofc this was written assuming you're in/from the US).
I learned many . thanks
Highly helpful
Everything you just mentioned doesn't work on my students. The only method that works is FEAR!
Fun video! Your enthusiasm is contagious. ☺
I love your explanation, am student teacher.
Thanks for your video and advice. One advice that I do (I'm a junior and senior high school teacher in Japan) is look at the person(s) who are causing the trouble and just stay focused on them. Since Japan is a "group" society, usually the students will get those people to quiet down. Another idea is to write the problem students' names on the board. Those students are going to start to question themselves and quiet down and so will everyone else. The other thing to keep in mind about noisy classrooms is the reason WHY they are noisy. It could be because the next period is a field trip, a holiday, or they are trying to prepare for something next period or later in the day. If that's the case, then tell them what you need to do (the lesson) and as a reward, you will give them free time. Just make sure they get your target lesson point, or else this won't work. Thank you again.
How is teaching in Japan now?
Making class quite depends on the class, I mean tips can vary greatly,
I’m going to try some of these with my Pre K class. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing this tips.
Threatening standards works every time. Kids hate one thing, boredom. Also if you punish them by reading every time they’re loud, they stop. If you punish the whole friend group for the behavior of one, their friends start managing each other so they don’t all get in trouble.
You read them the state standards? Until they are quiet or longer for a consequence?
@@paulastuelke4811 what? Standards are when you write what you did wrong and how you will improve over and over again for a set amount of pages. For the first offense it’s usually 1 page front and back. If it continues the pages doubles so next time it’s two then four etc etc. by the 3rd time they change their behavior
keeping yourself silent works very well, as I have experienced in my class. In addition, when they were busy talking or doing something irrelevant to the lesson I would ask them Can I start? then surprisingly, all of them paid attention to me. I taught in a school for 6 months but I must confess that those 6 months were quite pleasant. I missed my students.
How many years old children did you teach?
@@wishyousuccess8816 their range of age were completely different start from 7 to 12 years old.
I really appreciate your video. Thanks for sharing. 😃😃😃😃😃
I like the tip of encouraging the good behaviour instead of criticizing the bad one
I like Secret Agent! 🦋
I watched this as a student to learn how our teachers make us quiet. Now we know all the tecnics 😂
😂😂😂😂
Lol. That's so funny
But I m a teacher....I will use another technics😏😙😎
@@user-lh1ds4pr1i actually i love lessons and listening (usually without interrupting) but some teachers dont care about teaching and some students dont care about learning. So that leads to a boring class
Very well 👌
Thanks
Thnaks
Keep up your great job 👏. It was helpful
Nice 👍. what teacher training courses have you done?
Thanks teacher! Sadly these strategies don't work in Dutch society, especially in bigger cities. You should send them away.... 😊
thanks a lot
Thank you
thank you
Hmmm. I think step 1 is identifying the type of noise the class is producing. One should be okay with productive noise which means learners are engaged.
That's correct! Thank you for pointing out the miss leading here. In fact, we often hear teachers using AhaSlides during class say the noise is even louder, but that's good noise, showing students are having fun and engaging. But for being able to keep them engaged, we should catch their attention first, so maybe those techniques we share in the video may help! 😊
Don't shout, react otherwise to the state they are( If they are down cheer them up, otherwise do the opposite), compliment the ones with good behaviour rather than focusing on the ones doing wrong. Never shout, create a call and response
That's exactly what happened to me today, it was my first time I teach them 😂😂😂
1.24 😂😂 now i say i m waiting fold my hands and check my watch. 😂😂yes i send them some out in the first 10 minutes 😅.
❤so coool
Silence doesn't work in kindergarten for sure. I have 7 groups of 20 kids each. I've tried this and they simple don't care. Btw, there is a big chunk in each class that doesn't care whatsoever, they don't respond to anything. They just get up and do what they want, leaving any activity even amazing games
Very beautiful and useful for me
My experience in the Marine Corps has shown me that counting up: 1,2,3, . . . etc does not get students to stop unwanted action. Why, the learn at a very young age numbers get infidelity larger. Johnny, how high can you count.
The more effect way it to count down: 10, 9, 8, . . . 3, 2, 1, zero. They know that something big is going to happen at zero, and they don't want to miss it. Like at the end of a basketball game, time is running out and they want to finish with the most points.
Yup! As a teacher, I usually do countdowns to have my learners settle down, line up, or finishing their activities. It really is effective.
😂 great advice.
by beeing smart in communicwtion
3.20 positive reinforcement 😅 forget sometimes
Can this work in a Jamaican classroom.
Secret agent, sound a good idea. May I ask, if at the end of the class, Do you reveal the name of the student? (even if he didn't reach your standart)
very informative .thanks sir.
TQ
I did the silent treatment, and they simply ignored my existence and kept talking. I DON'T THINK THOSE TIPS ARE WORKING FOR MY CLASS BEACAUSE I TRIED THEM ALL.
What did u do instead?
Me too😢

It's the parents fault. The kids act like crap because of the parents. Teaching is a horrible job because there is no way you can win
I had a noise class. ITS Made me very upset. Thanks for your advice. Its help full.
There are so many comments on this video that are ungrammatical, have spelling areas, And you call yourself a teacher?
I'm interested with the secret agent. Can you give me Sir instructions about this activity? How can I do that in my classroom?
What is the work of the secret agent?
❤
1:22 that's literally me
secondary please. 😊
Of course it is the one called Alex 😂😂😂😂❤
good
I goes this video isn’t for the teachers in Africa bcz when the teacher enters the class there’s no something called noisy here in Africa 😄
Are you sure ..which part of Africa are you 😁

Learn mma.
I'm planning on becoming a teacher because I like teaching, unfortunately I've never teach a group of people, never been a group leader, no hand movements while talking and introvert and etc.
I am learning those things through RUclips videos but I can't find any Effective technique to control a group of teenagers including this video!
Almost everyone says to do "class class yes yes" method ! But no1 would answer yes in my class instead they would probably just laugh at it coz of how silly it is. I think that's how my classmates form 2017-19 would react (class 6-8)🤦♂️
A female eng teacher actually start CRYING because of how noisy our class was to the point where she shouted at the top of her voice and no1 even noticed except for some girls and some first benchers her voice was not that loud but its crazy how uncontrollable our class was 🤣🤣
I feel bad for her everyone felt bad for her but I felt sad only because she cry, it's rare to see an adult cry irl even more it's our teacher and the reason was us students (not me) Now I can kinda feel her ☹️
Some of my classmates are now -OH addict there life is pretty much ruined Some of them even started using vape at clz 7 lol
That same teacher that cry actually caught a student with ganja at his bag at class 8 🤣🤣
It was hella funny..
Anyway
I wish to be able to control that type of class
And it was fun sharing these stories to you guys all those fun, wild, sad forgotten memories is coming back to me
Good luck to all teachers I hope u never meet a student like us
👍👍👍
The secret agent thing is brilliant and might just work in Asia.
Why do you think so?
It doesn't work. Kids are spoiled brats everywhere
Hi Sir. Thanks for your informative topic. Can i Have a copy of your slides or ppt? Thank you po.
😮👍👍👍
I say no to the silent treatment. Hasn't worked in my 21 years
I did not completely understand the Spy Agent method. Do you tell the selected student that he/she is the spy? I understand that it is not the case (everyone may thus think they are the spy agent). If that is the case: I understand you never reveal who the spy was. So, I guess this game could work a limited number of times: It works because it creates the illusion that you (maybe) are the spy, so you have to be a great student. This effect would eventually disappear, when people played the game more and more, since in the end the spy is never detected and does not have a personal reward.
I think it works like this: at the end of the lesson you say who the secret agent was. And you congratulate him/her
Every lesson, in the beginning, you pick a student card and don't tell who it is. In the end of the lesson you declare who the student is to the class. If the student was good during the lesson, the class gets reward.
@@efkute123 but I feel that would create animosity towards a student if they don't behave....
@@louisejarzombek1669 Yes, so you have to warn clearly and forgive for once :D
@efkute123 I forgive plenty. Thanks for the unnecessary judgment. So thoughtful. ❤
It is easy to make vdo but not easy inform of students.
Tried this
My class is feral
I liked the tips but for secret agent it may be a chaos if they discover who it is.
i don't think this will work in a typical African classroom. All you need to calm the class is a stern look from the tutor.😂😂😂.However, thanks for sharing these amazing tips.
A tell u😂
