Hey Carol, that's a standard size in an Indian classroom. In my opinion teacher can effectively handle 30 children in middle school and upto 20 in lower primary.

You have an extra edge as you are one of them only. Don't exercise undue authority but in a friendly manner try to manage them. Also never ever lose your confidence. Don't repeat your words again and again and maintain good eye contact with noise makers.
