For cannabis growers, pH levels can make things a nightmare. Without the perfect pH, your plants can't get the nutrients they need.
Rather than adding pH Up and pH Down... Rather than constantly testing the pH levels in your water... Do this instead.
Kudos man, you’re what newbs been looking for online since the Marc Emery days. Salute Scott.
Thank you!
I finally got my recharge and grow dots. I’ll keep you posted on how things work out for me.

Thank you!
Best way I ever heard that explained. Thanks Scotty!
Glad you liked it!
Really Really good info Scotty!! Great video! Growers love ❤️
Thanks! You too!
Marijuana, making everyone gardeners...😂 Been using recharge since legalization in Oklahoma and it's legit! Better find out!
Very legit 👌
I appreciate the content, this is spot on. 🤙
Well done, guys...u pack a lot of info in a small amount of content.
For the algorithm 🤙🍻💨
Much appreciated!
a) This channel does provide valuable information
b) sometimes it feels like whole episodes are nothing more or less than commercials for real growers
Yeah I mean, there has been some good information on this channel, but the blatant self-promotions are a bit much. There's a lot of different techniques out there, but overall this channel usually ends up pushing their Grow Dots too much and it's a bit of a turn off.
Scotty owns Recharge obviously. It's a great product. Probably the best in it's category. This is a class in business. Listen and learn......
Thank you I been wondering this...🎉😮🎉😮🎉
I started using Ocean Forest and noticed that I would get a little bit of lockout.
I switched to Super Soil and got MORE lockout.
I then stopped being stubborn and checked my PH of my water source and it was 9.0.
I then started using Citric Acid to bring PH between 5.6-6.5.
Ever since my plants have been THRIVING.
Recently I got forgetful and didn't PH my water going in.
My plants immediately curled their leaves, stopped praying and didn't improve until I watered them at 5.6 twice.
I get that Soil can "buffer" PH but your water solution should be stable or treated to be stable.
PH will Chelate nutrients in your soil OR lockout nutrients in your soil.
Carbonates, Sulfiric Acids and Phosphoric Acids when binded to minerals will lockout nutrient uptake from plants.
Humic/Fulvic, Lactic, Citric and Acetic acid chelate minerals top make them easily taken up by plants.
Bacteria and Fungi, like those found in Recharge, produce Citric, Acetic and Lactic acids to break down organic matter.
Fungi produce the Citric Acid and Bacteria consume Citric Acid as a food source and then excrete Lactic and Acetic Acids in the digested food.
All of this helps chelate minerals and when you add Carbonates (commonly found in water source) that aren't broken by natural acids it forces the Microbes to use their energy to break it down.
Energy lost at the microbiological level is energy lost for your plant.
Give your microbes a boost with Organic Acids.
I love this guy. He makes perfect sense especially after a good cereal milk Indica..
Hell Yeah, Thanks!
Good job
I’m checking in I ordered recharge and blue dot I used recharge (a gal and 1/2 to break up the coco core and mixed in black gold soil then 56 grams of blue dot I germanated 11 seeds 2 days the had little tails planted in little cups in 4 days they are doing great wish I could send pics any way fabulous info here and now huge fan of real grow product thanks for your help

Great stuff once again! 👍✔️🌱😤😮💨🤤🙏
Another good one Scotty and hi c,Hey Scotty when will we be able to get your products in Australia?
Unfortunately we are unsure.
I had an aquaponics system in C Fl for 11 years. The grow medium was river rock. The growth rate in that system was crazy good. I ran the system with fish and plants before planting the good stuff. PH was sketchy for a few months while the system balanced. I rarely bothered checking ph once I had the system where it needed to be.
That is awesome!
Me Literally seeing this video in my youtube feed while starting to ph my water for the first time 👁️👄👁️
U got this
This has made a huge difference in my grow ph water and blue dot and recharge 👍👍👍😱
Ive realized alot of nutrients have been built up in my soil but after using Recharge, the microbes went to town and did their job but i ended up with a slight nutrient burn and toxicity because now that the Recharge has essentially unlocked everything, these 2 ladies seem to be rapidly taking up just a liiiittle too much at a time but they're smiling nonetheless 👏. I plan to stick to water only with recharge here and there because i now know that i dont necessarily need any extra crap for now. Just needed to stay ontop of my microbes in order have those nutrients available for the plant. You're a legend scotty😎👌
You reuse your soil? Good way to save money over the short term.
@@DAVEITTERLY absolutely. I find it convenient considering when the soil becomes depleted u can just add your own ratios. Ive been reusing ocean forest for the past 5 or so runs and always yeild great results despite the minor problems like toxicities or temp swings. After harvest I just dunk my fabric pots to flush the soil completely then break it all down and re-amend as i go. Timing is key tho since organic material takes a while to breakdown so its best to top dress sooner than later but that depends on how much nutrients are already in ur soil👍
I grow in living soil so i don't really worry about pH. I have a whole colony of earth worms, springtails, predator mites, nematodes, protozoa and so much more biology in my soil making sure everything is where it needs to be. I did buy that $10 sample packet of Recharge and i give it to the plants at half dose every 2 weeks and they love it. Doesn't seem to bother the biology in the soil either. That was my biggest concern. Good job Recharge 👍
Recharge is definitely a game changer
Once you mix something into water the water takes on a color and is opaque. That one device can measure ph, moisture, and light. It has 2 probes about 8 inches long. Mixture normally needs ph down. That;s the one thing. And when I check my raised garden moisture that needs water basically every day. It's a vegetable garden.
It's a great thing you are helping with people that are passionate about growing ✌️ A question if you don't mind? Have you ever used molasses or sorghum to give them just a little boost to that natural sugar that I love to give too my girl's?
There is Molasses in Recharge.
Great content as usual! However, in my opinion, it would have been good to see both PH charts, meaning one for soil and one for coco. Since coco needs about 5.6 to 6.0 PH, compared to 6.0 and 7.0 for spoil. I usually change my PH every time I feed the plants so it makes my root zone "work" for it! What do you think Scotty? Cheers
too many charts can confuse new growers, a little swing in Ph is not bad as long as it stays within limits.
@@ScottyReal420 I understand, thanks!
Is there a need to PH before or after ? Or do you adjust the ph at all? Just mix and pour?
I bought a bag of bad fox farm soil. Plants were being killed.. i finally did a soil test on it and it was a 4.8 ph.... idk what happened to that bag before i bought it but the entire bag also filled with mushrooms... im so paranoid but ill try recharge next time i buy soils... its outdoor season now
Using recharge and worm leachate on my sweet corn. Decomposing wood, which generally has a low nitrogen content, has been shown to host a diazotrophic community. The bacteria enrich the wood substrate with nitrogen through fixation, thus enabling deadwood decomposition by fungi (mycorrhiza). Nitrogenases are rapidly degraded by oxygen. For this reason, many bacteria cease production of the enzyme in the presence of oxygen. Many nitrogen-fixing organisms exist only in anaerobic conditions, respiring to draw down oxygen levels, or binding the oxygen with a protein such as leghemoglobin. Rotting spongy wood is anaerobic but not enough to kill roots from lack of Oxygen. I use hugelkulture but the wood might not be colonized by the right mycorrhiza for cannabis. It's easier to use something like recharge to get the right mycorrhiza to colonize it.
With coco you need a lower PH for nutrient availability. I do 35% coco and I occasionally get PH problems with some cultivars when I have too high PH from my tap water.
Your Coco Coir hasn't been flushed and neutralized completely. Very common with brick coco. If you buy coco in bags from a good source, you shouldn't have this issue.
@@brucesumner6993 Yes it has, I always reuse my medium and wash it between every grow.
I still ph even though my water mix generally ends up 5.7-6 (coco) but my buddy uses tap water and recharge. Our tap water here is between 7.5-9.5. Only thing he uses is grow dots and recharge because I was really lazy with one grow. Only used grow dots, recharge and distilled water with minimal defoliation or training. Plants turned out great, not amazing. So he ran with it, I’m a mad scientist when it comes to growing now lol
All you need is grow dots and recharge most the time, but when using RO or distilled water you will also want to use some type of cal-mag.
I love my recharge
🙌
Rain water is 6.2 mostly steady should I be bringing up the PH in rain water that's all I use is rain
I noticed running autoflowers with fox farms ocean forest it always starts to get nutrient lockouts around week 6/7. My last grow it seemed to be lacking calcium / magnesium in this stage, which made me think like the ph was too acidic and blocking those nutrients. Is the recharge supposed to sort of "reset" the ph levels at the roots? From what I can gather, it would seem the ph buffer in this soil runs out prematurely. Adding calmag solution to the water did slow the deficiency/ leaf loss down somewhat, but never completely stopped it.
you ever get the answer to the question you asked
Weird you had all those DWC probls. I do RDWC where the entire root zone is submerged in hyper oxygenated water and i've never had an issue. Been doing it forever too, 39 years grow experience.
You mentioned you did DWC once, probably this video, I don't know, I smoke a lot 🤣🤣. Can you do some videos on that by chance, please?
I did DWC a long time ago and it is not my method anymore.
I know it is not the topic of this video but i would love to have un video about trimming… dry or wet wjat the best way ?
There’s a video of that in his videos somewhere
Guys. This truly is a game changer. Before I started using microbes I always ran into issues with my crops. For some reason the rhizosphere was the thing I neglected and perfected LAST after exhausting everything else. I focused on lights, nutrients, VPD, all kinds of shit.
I literally did it backwards. Once I finally got into microbes it made everything so much easier.
Recharge also has the amino, fulvic and humic acids, kelp.
It’s absolutely awesome.
Hell Yeah it's stories like these I love hearing.
When do you start using it? And how often
@@BlackkDiiamonds I use it once a week Veg through flower and cut it off around week 6
@@nolanmendoza43 nice I'm gonna give it a go on my next grow
I've been adding recharge once a week with these last 3 plants. Started using it with my house plants. I always have to ph up from a 5.3 to 6.5. Just need to find what to add to my living soil so i never have to ph again.
Your drinking water is 5.5?
I’m about to stop using acid to drop my PH to 6-6.5 because it comes out at 7.5 and the width of the line doesn’t really look much different.
Hey Scotty got a question. Once i buffer my coco coir should i give it an additional rince with water ph at 6.5???
Nope once it is buffered it should be pH balanced and good to go.
Please help me! I'm about to start using the HLG 350 diablo in my 2x4. How high should I keep this beast above my ladies?
get a ppfd meter or and app like photone to adjust the ppfd to the correct level.
Now that Far-infrared ceramic balls adds about 58 minerals back into my r.o. water, plus recharge. How to grow smaller fruits?
I wing it on the cheap.
I make compost tea from my lawn clippings and use that exclusively for nutrients.
Last summer's crop got some bud rot and I think it came from the tea, because all 5 plants had a bit of rot.
I am steeping the tea for longer than a week as I was doing last grow, maybe that will cook out the baddies?
I have no idea how to check Ph levels, and have never been concerned.
Bud rot not from temp + humidity? 75 degrees plus 75% = 150. I was a greens keeper and that may be phythium conditions. we used fungicides for some nasties. air conditioning for 200 acres is expensive
@@DAVEITTERLY Definitely not humidity. We were on fire watch most of last summer, especially toward the Fall. As the rot was present all at once I figured something was either in the air or water, more'n likely the water mixture.
If I understand it right, this video is not ment for living/super soil? Right?
(Ye sure it is better but not 100% needed)
Bout time to re-up on my recharge!!!!
💪
Scotty got a question. If growing organic in soil can recharge still be used to balance out the pH
Absolutely
What's up scotty I use promix which is a soilless medium and I use gaia green organics what ph would you recommend for a soilless media any help would be appreciated and I always got some recharge on hand
I use the same setup. Promix and Gaia green. Just make sure your water is at 6.5 when you water and top dress accordingly and you should have zero issues. Been using this method for years. Hope this helps growmie 🤘🏼
Ditto for Derek’s comment! I switched this run to pro mix and when I transplanted to a 5 gal for flower I amended my pro mix with all the servings it’ll need with gaia green bloom. Water only and recharge and I have had legit no issues and it actually made growing too easy! Never thought I’d see my plants just grow on autopilot with no deficiencies at all! Frosty as hell in Week 7 and I didnt even use silica this time! Also with this method I legit never worried about ph the entire time and had no issues. I do have my tents dialed in tho! Hope that helps! LFG DGC, cant wait to sesh next week with y’all!
@@GtownTX15 dude it’s amazing right!? It’s literally the easiest way to grow and get dank every time I feel like. Happy growin brotha🤘🏼
I'm thinking I will be using mycorrhiza and worm humus to feed my plants.
Would anyone suggest against this?
It's a good start but you will need more then just those things for a healthy plant.
I'm using grow dots an recharge btw
you may need more than just that but those ae a good start.
Has anyone tap a maple tree for syrup? I’m wondering the fluid that comes out the tap would be beneficial for watering our plants since that should be pure plant food
Я использовал березовый сок
This is an interesting thought.
@@ScottyReal420Once my harvest coincided with the collection of birch sap. Last two weeks I am watered it with birch sap. Perfect for flushing!
Is grow dots hydroponics frendley?
They need a media, they will not work in something like DWC
Chemdoc 6,6Ph it's perfect (&)tropicana+ Cookies 6,5 pH reguliert and Sherbert+Cookies6,5/6,8 Melasse best for the microbes!!!!
Okay, listen everyone You can see I'm a new grower but my fifth ( last) harvest I didn't pH my water at all and had the best result 🔥🔥🔥 an amount I have 12 oz of autoflower from two plants. All I did is leave the water outside for a day or two. Am I wrong for not PH the water?
not at all .
recharge for the win 😎
Absolutely.
Why do they say lower PH lvl's for Coco Coir? Supposedly 5.8 to 6.2 is ideal? This is my 1st run with Coco Coir and Dots/Recharge and still stuggling with what appears to be Mag problems, I have been giving them Cal Mag and still getting signs of Deficiency. It has prolonged my Veg because I do not want sick plants in Bloom. Is it because I am keeping my PH at 6.0 , 6.1 think it was ideal?
sup, did you rinse and buffer the coco ? rinse till the water is "clear" not red , once it rinses to a light yellow drain it , then take 7.5ml/gallon of calmag and soak the coco over night.
coco will want some additional cal mag so add a bit 1/2ml per feed after about 15-20 days, leds will also make the plant want more cal mag possible 2/3ml a feed. if you use coco you will need some instant calmag
@@smartmonkey777 Thank you so much for your time in this matter. No I did not rinse my Coco. I bought Cana Coco and was under the impression that it is the best and it is prebuffered. I will be sure to do so on all future runs just to make sure. I think Grow Dots are a good thing for some people but I think I will go with Cana's Nute line in the future because if you have an issue you are on a time clock with nute release and its hard to get back on schedule if you need to get your plants well before flipping them. For instance I am on week 11 in veg and still trying to get them right for flip. This is my 1st time with Coco and Dots, I have had a lot of success with amended soils and some nutes . I do really like Coco and Recharge a lot. Do you have an instgram or X account where we can chat occasionall,y LoL no pestering from me? Have a great day Brother!
Generally soil pH is the same throughout the whole soil, it's not going to be different at the rhizosphere. How could you possibly maintain a pH at the rhizosphere and not the rest of the soil? Also, don't salts kill microbes? How can you use a salt-based nutrient and then think you're going to "colonize" with microbes like recharge and still keep them alive? It's like pouring salt on a slug isn't it?
The microbes in the rhizosphere are what makes the pH different, and salts can affect microbes but will not straight up kill them all.
Also why did you guys say 6.5-6.8 is the correct PH for cannabis?
This is wholly wrong... It's 5.6-6.5 during Veg and 6.5-7.5 for Flower.
At 5.6-6.2 you get High N and K uptake with lower Phosphorous.
This is ideal for Veg.
At 6.5-7.5 You're getting NPK as a whole and more Calcium and Magnesium.
6.5-6.8 is horrible for Veg cycle. You get better root production and foliage growth at 5.6-6.5 tops.
