    The FlowZone 18 volt battery backpack sprayer is an incredible piece of machinery, with lots of pressure and to pressure adjustments they modified the straps to make it even better but it has one flaw it's not design for the professional pest control operator that has to do many different spray applications and needs many adapters so I created this little inexpensive hack for under ten bucks that will solve your problem using Teejet 1/4 inch to 3/8 inch adapter a stainless steel pressure washer adapter from Northern Tool you can now use your teejet nozzle strainers and tips.

    Hello, I am very glad to have found your video! I use Ryobi hand-held sprayer and its nozzle assembly seems like 3/8" size. I would need 1/4 to 3/8 adapter to use with TeeJet 45deg adapter (1/4"), but I haven't been able to find it after searching a lot online... Would you be able to provide me where I can find an 1/4 to 3/8 adapter? I might be just missing products on big box stores..I am new to sprayer/lawn care 😥 thank you for your help.

    Great hack!! Do the Teejet orange and green color nozzles (shown- low volume, wide angle nozzles) work well with the Flowzone sprayer or do the low volume nozzles cause motor/pump to cycle in an "off and on" manner? Is droplet size acceptable and are you using the low power setting on sprayer? Great video!

      Yes pump has auto shut of for presure, since we do lots of shrub spray and lawn spray along with general exterior perimeters we change out the nozzles depending on application.

      You could just have to use it at high pressure with a yellow nozzle, it all depends on the landscape how dense it is.

    Hey frank do you use high rates or low rates of chemical when you do service
    Like right now I use cykick should I use the 1 oz per gallon or 2 oz per gallon for general pest control? You think 1 oz is good enough for spiders?

    • @pestgeekpodcastpestcontrol4795
      @pestgeekpodcastpestcontrol4795  6 лет назад

      it depends what type of application you are doing, and how fast you can move, what tip you have. For instance, if im doing a perimeter with Termidor at 3% i would use my red tip at 1, if im spraying a lawn i would use the same tip at 2.

    Hey Frank. How are you man? What tip are you using for exterior of homes? Are you switching to get the eaves? Is one battery enough for the day? Any other advise you can share using this backpack sprayer? I purchased the handguns, the wands, etc. Looking forward to using them in the field. Peace Brother

      i have used all types insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, surfactants, essential oils, fertilizers at very high concentrations in order to spray 1 quart per 1000 sqft of solution, I have a 3-year-old unit that i have treated over a million square feet of lawn and it still works. no problems

      I have 3 one for natural shrub spray, one for lawn spray, one for home perimeter. The lawn spray one we use an insecticide, fungicide, herbicide and liquid fertilizer not a single problem, just make sure to rinse it out after each use and don't allow it to sit overnight with lawn mix.

      I love the backpack sprayer for liquid fungicide, feet, weed treatment. I use my white tip - 40 degree from my pressure washer but the spray pattern at knee height is still only about 14-16” wide. Too narrow a pattern to walk off my entire lawn.

    Why didn't you just put a jd9 gun on it....thats what I did

    • @pestgeekpodcastpestcontrol4795
      @pestgeekpodcastpestcontrol4795  5 лет назад +1

      Thats a good question its too heavy, the wand offers a more even product distribution we can have more precise applications for different situations, the jd9 is designed for high pressure and high volume that unit has 45 to a max of 115 psi and about 1 gallon per minute you would use too much solution. When we switched to backpacks from rigs we used 90% less water and 66% less chemical incresed speed of application by double that of a hose.
