I really like my Flowzone Sprayer. I've got just about 24,000 square feet of fescue. It's a big yard for DIY. I have it calibrated to spray 2,000 square feet per gallon so I can cover the entire yard in 3 fills. Saves me A LOT of time. Appreciate the video Pete.
@@FixItWithMe Pete has great videos on calibrating the backpack sprayers. It comes down to walking speed and pressure. I laid out a 1k square foot area on my driveway and timed how long it took me to spray it. I then timed how much water the machine sprayed in that time. I was somewhat close even then but I had to increase my walking speed just a bit to cover 1k square feet in the same time the machine sprayed half a gallon. It took some trial and error and then I practiced walking that speed spraying just water a number of times. It's just my natural spraying pace now. Watch Pete's videos though! He's better at explaining than I am.
Thank u for getting back to me!!! I have 58,000 sq ft of grass areas to do!!! I actually measured everything last week when I wanted to put down Prodiamine. I ended up buying granular even tho I have a big jug of Prodiamine wdg bc I was clueless on how to spray such a big yard!!! I thought I had to do 1 gallon/1,000 sq ft…so that would’ve been 58 gallons and lots of fill ups!!! I will try to find Pete’s videos that u are talking about!!! Thanks again!!! :)
Just bought my Typhoon this week from GCI and the buddy nozzles. I was shocked how quick Pete and team had it at my doorstep ( 2days). I am excited to start spraying!
Couldn’t agree more and I thought the first time I ordered my GCI TTTF that 2 days was a fluke. You all are no joke when it comes to getting product out. You all keep up the great work and thanks again!
These sprayers and your nozzle buddy package is the reason I didn’t spend 7000 on a space saver and instead run off a 125 gallon nurse tank with my Spyker spreader and Permagreen for my business. FlowZone with the nozzle buddy pack is everything needed to spray a yard for the homeowner or professional. Anyone who’s pulled hose all day loves the flexibility of the FlowZone. Many thanks and blessings to you Pete
I bought the Strom 4 gallon and your nozzle buddies and love ‘em. I’m new to spraying so I really appreciate your videos, I learned a ton. My only complaint is after about 4 uses, the coupling on the wand broke off at the pistol grip. Probably my fault even though I thought I was being careful with it. Post event, the complaint is it’s a pain in the butt to find any information on replacement parts. The feedback is for the manufacturer and or distributor. I appreciate all you do to help us Pete.
Purchased the Cyclone from GCI Turf last week and have been practicing using water. Based on the calibration method Pete describes, I am targeting my front yard (8500^2ft) with 4 gallons on pressure setting 2. A tip for consistent walking pace - pick a song and walk to the tempo. I’m using “one more time” Lynyrd Skynyrd. Question- does Pete have any videos discussing cleaning the spray equipment to avoid cross contamination?
I got the strom a few years ago from pete. And it’s still going strong. I use it in conjunction with my liquid cool season guide and man; it’s got my yard shinning like a new penny
Thanks for the info on these. Would really like to see a video on here or even pictures of the nozzles themselves (from your nozzle buddy) on your website. Thanks!
Man, Pete you don’t gotta lie about it being too windy outside to film. You just wanted to hit that subtle flex and show off those burnout marks 😂 Thanks for breaking down the differences of each sprayer!
Love the Strom I bought last year! I can’t ever see myself going back to a pump honestly😂it spoils you. Thanks Pete👍🏻over here in your area for a wedding today brother! In Madison…you guys got a lot more rain than we did!
I was thinking of getting one of these sprayers this season. I think I'll wait till you come out with yours, so I can see it, and maybe get it if it's nice. By the looks of your garage floor somebody has that done a few burn outs.
I have the old Flowzone Tornado and the Cyclone. I also have the original 2 pack of the tips that you sold a few years ago, I just need to acquire the cone shower type nozzle. Will you list them separately on your website?
Excellent review, Pete! I’m tired of pumping my sprayer and having inconsistent spray pressure. I’m going to consider one of these. Are you going to give one of these away this year? 😁
Got my Flowzone Typhoon last fall from Pete. Wow, it's got some power now! I sprayed my lawn then power washed my windows. Also the additional nozzles Pete includes are really top notch. They switch out using brass fittings that have a professional feel. On a side note, my lawn was old common Bermuda that was hard on my bare feet, so in Fall 2020 I renovated using Pete's fescue. Looked absolutely beautiful October thru May, but my Oklahoma summer heat (and irrigation breakdown😥) just decimated it. So I am looking at going to a hybrid Bermuda such as Yukon to withstand the heat and save some $$$ on water. So Yukon unless Pete can conjure up some of his Elite Bermuda seed???!!!! Any chance of it becoming available before May? Anyway, thanks Pete for all the great info and inspiration. God bless.
Just bought the Strom Combo a few weeks ago!! Excited to get out and get it calibrated once the snow's gone here in Iowa. Tempted to pick up the nozzle buddies or should I just give it a go with the two extra nozzles you already sent?
Thanks for another great video Pete! Which backpack sprayer would you recommend for someone starting a landscape spray business? Thanks for all you do for us newbies have a blessed week.
Hey buddy, thanks for the information. It looks like I have to upgrade. Oh yeah, you know how I miss that intro music. That is my jam brother. Oh, by the way, they got my first client. Thanks much for being awesome and such a true, great inspiration. 👍 ❤
Just ordered a Cyclone Pete, excited to use it. Honestly I keep buying the $30 ones from Walmart and they only last a year or 2. Hoping this one last me a long time! Any tips on storing them to make it last longer?
Is it possible to set a Flowzone sprayer specifically to 40 psi? Do you have any info or videos on using a lesco chem lawn gun on the Flowzone? By the way, I’m an identical triplet and thanks for your videos!
Doesn't it say in the Flowzone manual that you are only supposed to use the factory supplied nozzles? I wished you would have showed the back of the Storm sprayer.
Hi Pete. I was wondering if you have a two nozzle boom option with flowzone quick adapter. The 4 nozzle is just to large for my square footage. Love your content. When is your Bermuda back in stock.
I bought the Strom 4 or 5 years ago and it now wont shut off. It will surge continously. I cant find a phone number or contact info for them for help and or parts. Any help would be appreciated.
Hey Pete, I bought the Flowzone Typhoon last year. Love it. However, it seems like it is too strong and puts out too much volume for spot spraying… any advice on settings and tip combos for spot spraying so I’m not wasting product?
Use a lower pressure setting and make sure it’s calibrated. I use my typhoon with multiple nozzles and never over apply. It’s all about how you calibrate it sir.
@@GCITurf completely agree and understand the calibrating aspect on large turf areas. What I am referring to is spot spraying… say, Roundup in a natural area. I really only need enough volume to wet the leaf blade of the weed but I don’t need to use 1/4 cup of volume on one tiny weed with one quick trigger squeeze. What tip do you use for spot spraying?
@@ericnoland6466 Pete might answer this better, but adjust your sprayer setting to the lowest setting and use a cone type spray tip and get close to the weed. Then blast it.
I’ve had the Strom for 3 years now. Only issue I’ve had is with the pump. Sometimes just stops working. The company in Florida sent me a new pump however the pump design has changed and the new design will not work with my Strom model as the wiring is different. Out of frustration I hit the pump with a small hammer, kind of like an old starter that won’t start and voila, it works. When this method stops working and I purchase a new sprayer I’ll get an extra pump if possible. And No, I do not allow the pump to ever cavitate. As soon as I feel the sprayer getting light I shut it off as small pumps like these Do Not like to run dry.
You can but it makes how well you clean and rinse very important. They say triple rinse, but I would rinse like crazy. Other than that, you could use this to spray anything you'd like.
How would I get .25 gal per 1000sqft with one of the FlowZones using a 10ft or 12 ft spray pattern tip? This would allow me to spray 16k sq ft from one backpack full. Thanks!
Bought the strom 3 years ago and it’s still going strong. Excellent sprayer. Your wide nozzle tips make spraying a breeze too! Highly recommend!!
Agree 100%
Same here going into year 3 myself
My Strom and Pete’s wide sprayer are chugging without issue too. Can’t even run out the battery!

Try a small hand pump can for that herbicide and this will also save you cleaning your large sprayer from total kill stuff.

It is probably possible to calibrate to that but I do 8k and you've got to move pretty quick even to cover 8k. 16k is really just a two fill job.

Anywhere from 2k squ ft to 16k squ ft. Just depends on how you have it calibrated.
