Sadly, we've become so lazy as a culture and society, and it seems to have happened slowly as not to be noticed by a lot of people.
Being really good addicts in general, we want to tamp down all of the unwanted symptoms; the red flags interfering in our pursuit of control and independence we've been told is the goal. We push down unexplored emotions and dismiss people and situations that get in our way. When we "arrive" at the place we were told would fix all our pain and confusion, surprise, it doesn't fill the hole.
It's pretty difficult to expect one population of addicts to heal another population of addicts.
    But I'll never give up.
