This is a Mark II model. The bearings under the platter need to be cleaned/oiled or replaced. The idler wheel probably has hardened and needs to be refurbished or replaced. Any grease that has got gummy needs to be cleaned and lightly oiled as well. It's a lot of work, but when running correctly, it is very nice turntable.
